Oh I dont think that I did mention how it went. It was fun! The first time I've been able to go this year. It's so beautiful out in the woods, and we get to see and hear all kinds of wildlife. We heard a turkey gobble but it went off in the other direction so we didn’t have any luck getting one. My 13 yr old son actually shot his first turkey a few of weeks ago on youth day. So proud of him. Thank you for asking! ❤️

RND 256 Other than the goals I already have set, this round I'm aiming for no cheat days!4/6 174.2 Yesterday marked my 50th day of this challenge. Yay! Was hoping for better results but some of that is my fault. I've really got to do better if I want this weight off by summer. Met all goals yesterday. It's really starting to get beautiful out so I'm enjoying my walks so much. We live near the riverwalk, so I'm going to start walking more out there too. The scenery and wildlife is beautiful and its crazy how much it changes my mood when I'm out there. Hoping for a better round this time. 4/9 172.6 I started a challenge on the 1st of this month where I need to exercise at least 20 minutes a day and stay within my calorie with my calorie budget. Yesterday was the 8th day in a row of doing all 😃. Plan to keep it going through April. There are pass days if needed, but I really need this push. In May I'll be traveling the 9th-12th to Kentucky (an 8 hr drive 😳) and then towards the end of May we'll have our family beach trip. I'm sure those will set me back some so this month I've got to put in extra effort.
4/10 172.0 Another great day yesterday. Only thing that I wasn't pleased with was all the sodium with dinner (tacos). Took a hot hot bath after dinner. Not sure if that helps 🤣 but possibly? Just happy to see my weight going down though! Nice to know the self discipline is paying off.

4/15 172.4 Feels like my body is holding on to some fluid, especially in my stomach area. I didn't drink as much water over the weekend as I normally would, and my sleep hasn't been the best. Guessing that is probably why. Other than that though I'm pleased with this round 😃

4/15 - 150.2 - Not how I wanted to end this round. This weekend was a bunch of last minute activities which resulted in eating out both days. Saturday included cheese (hello bloat) and yesterday I was low on water (hello water weight retention). I can tell a lot of this is bloat so I know it'll drop off, but I hate that it's a round end weight haha! I'm also sore from Friday's workout so I'm sure that's not helping. I have my lunch meal prep cooking away in the crock pot and plans for dinner through Thursday night. I'll improvise Friday if we don't end up having plans. I also have a call with a coach on Friday to discuss what my goals are, what she can help with, and, based on all that, what an estimated price is to see if coaching would be a good fit. She specializes in women's health and hormones/working with cycles so I feel like I could learn something from her despite already doing pretty well on my own. We shall see!

4/10 - I've managed to make it back into some semblance of routine this morning. No workout and slept in, but everything else is starting to look normal again. Yesterday I was so exhausted and had such a busy day at work I couldn't hop on. Today is a bit better. I'm bloated and feeling awful from eating off track nearly all weekend. I'm back on track today (hopefully) and will be focused on working my way back down to 148 at least before the end of this round. I feel like it is doable so long as I stick to goals and remember why I'm doing this. I feel absolutely awful! The sleep deprivation (72 hours on duty with only a handful of naps/very restless sleep during that time) isn't helping, either. I know I'm also behind on water so I'm pushing that extra hard today. I've got 12 ounces down already before I even brewed coffee. Plan on having tea after my coffee and already filled my water bottle (which was my problem yesterday - I was tied to the computer on work calls with an empty water bottle next to me!). We planned for the gym today but ended up still too tired. Unsure if we will try again tomorrow or Friday. I'll aim for more movement during the day today and walking the dogs if nothing else. I'm just glad to be back with all of you! You keep me motivated and inspired to continue on this journey. Thank you for being such a wonderful group
4/11 - Likely water weight from increasing my intake. It is needed and will take a few days to drop back down. Pizza for dinner tonight so need to behave well until then and be mindful as I eat. I may stop by the store to grab some salad to have as a side to lessen the pizza intake as well. Lunch is fairly balanced so I should be okay so long as I limit any snacking. No walk yesterday due to the horrid wind. Today is calmer so hopefully I can sneak that in. I need to move my walking pad so I can walk during meetings rather than sit. My desk doesn't raise up so I can't work and walk (maybe an under-desk pedal?) but I can listen and watch a presentation while walking. In general, I need to get up and move more during the work day. My Galaxy Watch does set reminders to move every hour but so long as I'm moving my arms sufficiently, it doesn't tell me to get up and walk. I need to set a phone reminder I think to get up and walk. I'm sure there's an app that will remind me to drink water and stand up every hour.
4/12 - Pizza didn't do any additional damage, thankfully. I wasn't able to get a side salad so I listened to my body. Kept it to 2 pieces and a couple pieces of breadsticks (those are my kryptonite. I'd eat an entire order by myself normally). This morning I slept past my 445am alarm but woke up at 545 (and got out of bed at 6) naturally which was very nice. I think I'm finally getting out of sleep debt! I stacked 10 minutes of each: legs/glutes, back/chest, and light arms on Peloton strength to get a solid 30 minute full body workout. Just took a work break to get a walk in with the dogs and typing this up while I wait for my tea to brew. I'm not fully fasting, but no breakfast. My creamer added about 30 calories and I finished of my collagen creamer which is about 70 calories. I'm not hungry, though, so I'm not going to force myself to eat. Even the pizza in the fridge doesn't sound good and I'm NEVER one to turn down leftover pizza for breakfast. I can feel my routine seeping back into my life and I'm so happy for the changes that I turned into habits. Onward to even more progress and good habits!

History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have two parents, 87(mother), 85(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse (father has since passed and I am DPOA, Personal representative AKA executor, trustee, and oversee the majority of my mother’s care). A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

4/6 – 127.4 Middle of round 255 was fantastic and I saw the numbers I want. Then stress eating kicked back on for the week. Have not properly tracked since last weekend and the scale is confirming that action.

4/15 – 126.4 While my reporting to the group has not been great this round, I at least continued to monitor my weight daily.
The “boys” (my cats) and getting their weigh-ins each round. When I started back in January, Harry was in a concerning downward spiral with weight loss and vomiting. Spent $1000 with the vet and no cause was found. Well, my new way of feeding Harry is working too well. Ideal weight IMM was 11 lb 4 oz and we reached that towards the end of February. Now both boys need to be on the weigh monitoring plan. Both boys are at the maximum end of healthy.
Today should be reasonably quiet. Going to sit and catch up on round 256, before rolling into 257!6 -

It's been a while since I've been here, but decided to focus on weight loss again and this has always been a helpful tool for me. Lost 30 pounds last spring. then gained a few of those back. Have kept up my daily walks, but need to concentrate on nutrition. Trying to get in the 60's by my son's wedding at the end of April..

4/7-DNW-Had fish for dinner and ate extra. Ordered raised garden beds from Amazon and assembled one yesterday. I am excited because I have broccoli, tomatoes and peppers I have started.
4/8-174-Lots of yard work done. Got my dahlias separated and replanted, even rode the horse and assembled one of the raised garden beds. DH says we need to fill that one up first so it doesn’t blow away. Minor details.
4/9-174-Appointment this morning then donate blood this afternoon. It makes me tired now when I do that and it never used to. DS is coming for dinner tonight so I will do as much early prep as I can.
4/12-177-Salty snacks at quilting last night. Dr. appointment then a quilting gathering called PJ’s and Pizza, where we go to the quilt shop some are in PJ’s (I am not because I usually stop and buy salad on the way) and we sew until 10:00 p.m., uninterrupted.
4/13-DNW-Ate pizza last night. Got all of my blocks made for my quilt. It’s raining here so I will spend the day sewing.
4/15-176-Was able to get out and walk 2 miles after dinner; that was nice! Errands today with all of the regular stuff mixed in.5 -

4/6 - DNW Out of town visiting my mom. Did eat some sugar here yesterday, so hard to resist. Was slightly over calorie goal.
4/7 - DNW Drove back home this afternoon and took a little nap. So far today I’ve been good. A lot of gardening yesterday helping my mom with spring cleanup. At our rate it will be mid summer before we get it all finished, I visit her every other weekend.
4/8 - 208.4 Well I’m a bit disappointed that it went up this high and I was watching what I ate. After posting this I will preplan my food for the day.
4/9 207.2 Yesterday was great with keeping calories managed and then we went for a walk around the lake, .6 of a mile but still a nice little walk. Trying to strengthen the knee but not overdo it, surgery on July 15.
4/10 205.8 Much the same as yesterday. Ate under calorie goal and went for a walk. Almost gave in and ate some pretzels but I drank some water instead. Today was grocery shopping and I bought mostly produce, trying to stay away from carbs.

4/12 205.4 Slightly surprised but very happy with this loss. My youngest DD is a third grade teacher. Her school had a fundraiser at a local pizza place. My older DD and I ordered two small pizzas, a salad, garlic bread and a Coke for me and a Sprite for DD and a chocolate chip cookie for DD. I ate 1/3 of the salad and two pieces of pizza and drank the Coke. I discovered that yes I can control myself with pizza. We brought home lots of leftovers which we will finish off over the weekend.
4/13 205.2 Every time the weight goes down I’m surprised but still very pleased. I wasn’t sure about today since I had a small portion of spaghetti last night. I’m trying hard to stay away from carbs.
4/14 204 Well I wasn’t expecting such a big loss. I didn’t feel well yesterday and didn’t eat much, I have a head cold. I’m going to church this morning but not singing in the choir. I plan to watch a lot of TV today and may get some sewing in. Rest, rest, rest!

I spent about 2 hours yesterday digging up brick edging from a bed we’re putting back in grass and relocating them to another part of the garden. I thought I’d be sore this morning, but nope, all good. It’s supposed to rain from tonight through Fri night, so I’m going to do a little more “garden infrastructure “ work this morning, them agility class with Charlie this afternoon. It’s a moving sort of day! Enjoy your hump day, all!

I honestly don’t know the answer to that question. The first time I REMEMBER someone mentioning my size was when my grandfather died. My mom and I were looking for a dress for me to wear to his funeral. The sales lady looked at me and directed us to the “Chubettes” area. I was 9 1/2.
And today’s addition-
Around the same time as the aforementioned “Chubettes story we visited former neighbors. The lady who greeted us at the door said, “My Jaine, how you’ve grown.” My brother “replied” under his breath “yeah, both ways.” About a year later we moved and the school nurse had the entire class lined up to be weighed and measured, announcing each to whoever was recording the results. (RANT: He’s had a rough week because of a complaint by a community resident that he has “ violated his fiduciary duties“ but no specifics given. She demanded an apology or retraction. The board decided what he needed to do while we were on our cruises and told him to what he needed to respond. He wrote his response and read it at the meeting on Wednesday night. One of the other board members said he was surprised that DH was even able to read his statement. I’m not even sure what that means! Another member stated that the previous board had violated the law by voting to spend $167K on a project without involving the homeowners AS REQUIRED BY LAW. (RANT OVER)

Ok, so I just spent like the past hour and a half going through the 16 pages of round 256. Like so many recent rounds, I am struggling to keep up on everyone's lives in the group and I regret that. I really need to put aside dedicated time each day. Anyhow, from my reading (If Han will get his butt of my notes), let's go.
@_JeffreyD_ I am curious if your "tax day" guideline for round 256 will manifest. And congrats on your progress this round.
@deepwoodslady What a stressful round you have had! In your more recent posts, it sounds like your swelling and foot are under control. Is that the case now? Excited for you and your construction. I bet it will be beautiful

@musicsax I think I commented mid round, but so sorry for the loss of your aunt. At almost 63 myself, watching the generation ahead of me is getting hard to watch, as I know it will be my turn next.
@chapter_3 Am I correct that your referred to "family issue" is this digestive struggle that you have been having? So awesome you were able to long jump with your DGS.
@Skyleen75 and @Leigh_b I totally get the stress eating, from anger and frustration. So many of my back slides relate to times like that. It is unfortunately my "go to".
@enlightenme3 I love my travel scale that was recommended to me in this group. It really helps me mentally stay in better control when on the road. I will be using it again on my northward travels in less than two weeks.
@apriljoy1174 Lately, I have confused many a day, and occasionally skipped one unknowingly. You are not alone.

@reshii_devi and @sweetzyd Pre-tracking for a restaurant helps me so much. And is it not a punishment for me. Since I like food, I get to look forward to what I chose before I went. Other tricks I use more and more is to have and appetizer as an app, and a second appetizer as my entree. That way I am not using up my calories on a starch and a veggie. I want unique eats when I am out. I also use having a decaf cappuccino as a "dessert". Just enough of a treat, and really nothing damaging about it.

Wow! so many have those formulative teenage pasts. In my own case, I was the "chubby" sister. I was 5'5" and 122. My other sisters were thinner yet curvier. My father stupidly (I don't think he meant harm) nicknamed me "chunky chicken". Just what a teen girl wants to be called, Right? I certainly had the history of stealing food when no one was in the kitchen like skyleen75 mentioned. Jeffrey_D, your teenage history sounds like my husband. Italian mother and he ate continually, yet was 6' 1" and 133 in high school. In his 30's, those habits were damaging when his metabolism changed. He topped out 230+. These days we support each other the bext we can, as we both have struggles.
The good and bad of these months in Florida that were supposed to be my "recovery" time that was not, is that going back to my normal life will not be a dramatic change. So maybe I can just continue forward working through each day, and maybe not yoyo from "all or nothing" behavior.
Been supporting DH since the beginning of the year. He has cleaned off 15+ lbs and has about 10 more he would like to do. My "help" is tracking the dinner I have planned for him/us each day. He deals with the rest of his daily calories. Seems to be effective. (I keep his account open in firefox browser and my account open in Safari browser).8 -
Ouch, I just tracked the "picking" I did this morning. Was mindless. Apparently I exceeded my calories for the day before noon time today. At least I am informed and will try and adjust accordingly.........6

But I’m here to tell you that “Chubettes” and feeling “mortified” is life altering HEAVY stuff! (No pun intended! 😂😳).
It seems that many in this group have suffered / experienced weight /nutrition challenges since childhood… That’s why we are here!
It’s finally starting to sink in that the fight for fitness is a persistent dedication to life-long vigilance. The life we aspire to - because we care- is filled with good old-fashioned hard work. When you’ve gone up and down with weight your entire life, this is not about “losing weight”… It’s truly about healing.
@smoda1 - I haven’t shared with the group my “family issue”. The issue has nothing to do with my body except for the stress that it produces every day. Let me just say that it has to do with choosing “tough love”… and boundaries. I also truly believe that journaling to this group is helping me not turn to eating and drinking and a potential 20 to 40lb swing. I just wanted the group to know that my life is not regular or normal right now.
I’m sharing this because I want to be able to handle DAILY stress without blaming life, struggles, heartbreak or disappointment… I want to figure out how to take care of my physical & emotional needs through adversity. There is no turning back to that familiar roller coaster ride. I don’t want to disappear from this group during the struggle… I want to remain and tough it out.7 -

@Chapter_3 Sorry to have inquired. I have missed so much of the groups interactions these past months that I assumed that it was a "known" entity, just something that I did not recognize. After reading all the posts on the 16 pages (and writing various notes as things sorted over the 10 days), I concluded what I thought must be the "known" concern. I totally understand stress eating and sorry that troubles are going on for you. Those relating to family tend to really hit home. Glad you are here, and glad you know to care for yourself!!

4/10 180.4 Hoping this can continue. I really need to get back to real exercise. Weather has been nasty the last few days, so we are pinned up inside most of the time.
4/11 179.2 Happy about this. Hope I can stay under 180, but that's not what usually happens. Takes a few days (or longer) to stay under for good. Fingers crossed! Did yoga last night to get back in the groove with exercise. Still so much rain!
4/12 179.4 Took a walk in the neighborhood last night until the rains soaked us, so I came home and finished with a Leslie Sansone Walk at Home video. Had a salad with salmon on top tonight instead of something that could have been a salt bomb at a favorite restaurant tonight. Hoping not to bounce but I know it’s a very real possibility.

4/14 178.4 Got in a long walk yesterday afternoon and it felt great! I’m in a pretty good place with food right now. Not very tempted and if I am, I’m content with just a bite. Allowed myself a small serving of frozen yogurt with the kids after I picked them up from school, but worked it into my plan for the day.

04/15 -182.4- (Trend weight 181.8) After 2 straight days of travel, a juicy steak from a steakhouse which included an alfredo side and fresh bread and other good things on day 1 of travel too, I would be more shocked if I didn’t see a gain. Lots more medical travel in the coming week. Some quite far. I don’t expect it to be a good week coming up. See you tomorrow in 257.

4/10 220.0 ~The round is half over and I haven't even bellied up to the table!! Yikes...Same goals. Protein good, water is even close to good with me hitting 64 three times a week and 80 at least once! Closing Rings - no problem, even with increasing the goals....But the struggle is very real with calories this round for some reason. I think I may have figured out a portion of my problem.
My target for calories is 1650. I pre-plan and pre-log to make sure I get my protein in and then work toward my calorie goal. So before the day even starts - I'm very close to goal. Well, what that means is there's NO wiggle room. As soon as I wiggle, I'm over calories.
I've also been looking at TDEE and BMR and calories in and calories burned, what my fitbit says and what my apple watch says.... and I think I've totally confused myself.

4/13 218.6 - Happy for this. Good on water, Good (increased ) on exercise. Over or at the top of my range on calories most days. I'll take this as a win!
