5/19 223.6 it’s not a loss but I’m okay with this. Lower activity yesterday and I realized yesterday that I need to up my water intake. I’m only drinking half what I thought was. I have a new goal for the next round.
5/20 223.4 graduation festivities are over. Hoping to get on track for some solid weight loss the rest of the month.
5/21 221.6 yesterday was a good day. Hoping to replicate today.

5/23 222.0 happy the trend is down and not stable or up. I have to keep reminding myself slow and steady = lifestyle changes I can maintain.
5/24 221.8 If this trend of .2 pounds a day continues, I'll be happy. Only one more day of this round and it looks like I'll finish with an end weight lower than my start. Given the up and down of the scale, I'm good with the result.
5/25 221.6 ending this round with a 1lb loss. Ate more last night than I have in a few nights, but it’s all good. Celebrating my kid’s 18th birthday this weekend. I’m going to try and not overdo it while we’re out and about.

Really disappointed by this! I guess the 2 scoops of ice cream and popcorn did me in. But I didn't have breakfast and had a salad for dinner, so I had hoped it would balance out. Oh well! On to the next one! For the next round, I am REALLY going to prioritize water and reduce snacking after dinner. I think this will be the change I need to go back to moving downward.

So, overall, I am pretty happy with how I did. The month of June always is full of social activities for me, but learning to navigate that is part of life. 05/24 -183.4- (Trend weight186.6) I’m not sure that I completely believe this 2.2 lb drop overnight. I have dropped that much in a 24 hour period before but it seems extreme to have two large drops in the same week. I did burn a lot of extra calories yesterday with a workout video in the morning and then an hour of raking and hauling leaves but it is still questionable. I have another scale that does not give me as much information so I tested that one too. It’s usually about .2 to .4 higher than my daily scale but this time it was .8 more and at nearly a pound different I am definitely questioning today’s reading. I guess tomorrow will tell. 05/25 -184.6- (Trend weight186.4) Well, I thought the scale was very wrong yesterday and I was right. During the reno my scale is not in my usual spot and I’m afraid the floor may be a bit unlevel where I’m forced to weigh at this point. However, I’m still down from day before yesterday which I do think is correct. I’ll probably take the scale to a more reliable location in the house tomorrow as I’m leary after yesterday’s (too) low weigh-in. I am also down 2.6 lbs for the round which is a nice turn-around for me. I have not done well in March and April. May has not proved to be much better so I really needed to take hold the reins as we slide into June. Tomorrow is my family BBQ at my oldest daughter’s house for the Memorial Day celebration. I look forward to spending time with them all. I will try to choose wisely for my meals although BBQ’s tend to be high in sodium. Good round everyone. We are all winners just by showing up for ourselves and eachother. See you in the Round 261.

5/18 175.4 Finally broke loose a little bit. This is my first weekend in over a year and a half that NOBODY NEEDS ME! Not sure what hubby and I will do with our new spare time, but I’m going to enjoy getting to decide what to do based on whatever we want. I know I will quilt some while he’s at work this morning, dodge the rains, hopefully, for some outside exercise, and who knows what else. Maybe just…breathe!
5/19 174.6 Ended up only being able to do mall walking yesterday.
5/20 174.2 A couple short walks in the neighborhood, and some steps while shopping.
5/21 175.0 Took Emberly to the mountains yesterday, but we ate very healthy and got in lots of exercise hiking, etc. Today was the first day of Mimi Care for the summer. I had only eaten like 630 calories by the evening, so I added in almonds and a protein shake. I did expect a little loss this morning, so maybe it’s because I’m sore. But I guess it could be that “not enough calories” thing.
5/22 174.0 I have a new walking/hiking buddy—my 4-yr old DGD. I hope to get in lots of miles with her this summer and get her on the Appalachian Trail for a mile or two later in the summer. She’s excited!

@Garbagegang my back is complicated and I’ll spare you the details but yes, that stupid disc never exactly heals and flares up if I’m not super careful. My profession as a gardener is brutal on my back.
I’ve worked with my spine Dr and a physical therapist on my movements through the day, literally from how I get out of bed in the morning to how I drive a car to how I sleep at night.
I work super hard on my core strength. My back is the worst if I rest too much. We say “motion is the lotion and too much rest makes me rust”.
Even with all of this I can tell my disc is deteriorating and the flare ups happen more often.
I will share that the absolute worst back pain in my life was a few years ago when my primary put me on a statin. I got to the point where I was laying on the floor crying in pain several times a day. Turns out that in some cases statins can exacerbate spine damage. I felt better within days of going off the statin.
This is actually when I originally started my weight lose journey at 242lbs, to get my cholesterol into the healthy range. This last February as my weight was creeping up again so was my cholesterol. Again this motivated me to work on my weight to control this.
Lol this the short version of my back pain journey!!!!
My advice is to get regular X-rays and MRIs to monitor. Find a specialist who understands you and a physical therapist who can help you live your best life!
I’m sorry I missed this! Was clearing out my notifications and saw you had responded. Thank you! Sounds like a long time with pain, I’m glad you’ve found a way to manage it. Your story gives me hope and caution. I appreciate both!
