Good morning beautiful ladies!
Rita you are doing an excellent job with your diet! Way to go! Yay!
Allie, you too! You lost some significant weight there! And happy birthday!
Welcome Susan in NH and @Blueyedgyrl69 !
Dad and I walked 1.5 miles. My legs were tired out! I'm so sedentary these days. I've gained thirty pounds since last summer, when I was doing the bike and the dumbbells and eating my routine foods. My dad is a terrible influence on my eating. Too much cookies and ice cream! My clothes are getting really tight. Time to turn this around.
I will drive dad to church then he's going to a party. So I have time for a shower and I need to run his car. Maybe a nap too. I was up with Teddy for a big thunderstorm last night.
Have a great day! May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Ah... posted something a little more politically incorrect than I wanted to leave up, so deleted. That's what I get for posting something my big brother sent me!3

More lifting and carrying and dragging (when the boxes are too heavy for me to lift). Lots of upper body work. I haven't logged it as exercise, but I suppose I could. Lots of walking back and forth. Lots of standing, reaching, bending.

Lisa- thats a riot..love it 🤣
Well I didn't sleep well and that's nothing new.hopefully I can catch a nap sometime today.
Tom will be here in a few hrs to pick up Alfie and since the sunset cruise is canceled the girls are planning a little get together which is always a few chuckles
Got a nice text from Rich my first husband he has covid..Dan dropped off groceries at his door yesterday. Before we went out.3 -
A highlight from the family visit. Daughter spent the day with us while husband and son went out for their own adventures. I got to talk to her about some things that were important about her being executor of our will and why we asked her to do it. Jake ordered delivery pizza for lunch (not on anyone's usual food plan, but delicious), and daughter offered to vacuum. The vacuum wasn't working right and while I was out with the dogs, she called her husband and not long after, he arrived with a new vacuum and said we couldn't say no to the gift. Then she finished vacuuming, swept or washed all the floors, and did a bunch of cleaning in the kitchen. They left by 5:00 to fix dinner at their Airbnb and left us in quiet. They'll be back today.
Annie, Today is a good day to get back to your healthy habits and take care of yourself,
Heather, Its great to hear the joy you are experiencing in being able to live your life without all that pain.
Kim Your getaway sounds like the perfect thing for you.
Tracey, I love to watch TV while working on a project.
Machka, I have enjoyed hearing about you house and all you are doing. It looks great.
Lisa, Many years ago while I was still working, I began waking up super early every day. I decided that it must happening so I could get things done and I began using the time to do stuff. I got more done and my attitude about the early wake up became joyous instead of grumpy.
Look for the new thread later today.

How nice!
And I bet your air quality is much better now, and that's important for good health.
I know that I'm having to take allergy pills every day these days while I pack and move things that haven't been moved in ages. Even so, I sneeze impressively and violently a few times a day.

Good morning, Beautiful Ladies!
I have been wanting to find an online community, and I think I have found one! Your posts have been so lovely to read... I can tell you really care about one another. That's such a beautiful thing in this day and age.
I live in West TN, and I am just restarting a journey to try to improve my health... I am recovering from a head injury and live with a chronic illness. I am working to accept my "new normal" and to work toward creating joy in my life again!
YOU all are simply wonderful. I look forward to getting to know you...
This is my third day on myfitnesspal this time around. My goal is to post all of my bites and to feel proud of that step toward healthier days ahead.
Wishing YOU all a lovely day ahead,

Hello to all; welcome to the new ladies! Remember to come back to this thread tonight to click on Barbie's link in her post, that will take us all into July! THEN, remember to bookmark July!
The weather has moderated a bit. It is in the 70s/80s, and I am inside and sleeping my way through the weekend with a summer cold. I hope I can shake it enough to take kids tomorrow. I don't mind the stuffiness and scratchy throat; but the sleepiness won't do with a houseful of kids!

This weekend before the 4th of July finds me extremely busy with the park. Worked the paybooth for 3 hours yesterday than walked in 104 degree weather for 20 minutes to put the reservation tags out. Will do the same today then from Thursday (4th) through next Sunday. More than I have in a long time. 1 day makes my back hurt due to standing the whole time and bending out the window to take money and give entrance tickets. Oh well, pays my housing costs!
Food porn for yesterday! 1/4 cup beans, 1 sausage link (spinach and cheese), cheese stick (1oz) and flour tortilla. Not enough veggies as the only thing I had was relish to add. Snack had 20 grapes, 1 apricot and 5 macadamia nuts. Supper was 2 celery sticks with fresh ground peanut butter. The, just about 8:30pm and right before I went to be, DH made some English muffin pizzas. I had one just to please him. Not a perfect day, but ok.

Mollie in TN and other new ladies, welcome. We are a busy group, but please don't be intimidated. Jump in on any conversation you want to. You'll find many different ideas and suggestions for not only weight loss, but health in general. Both physical and emotional.
Heather - Your basil plant is awesome. How old is it? The little container I got from the grocery store has about a dozen little stalks in it - great idea about potting some up separately. I'll give it a few more days, maybe make another batch of pesto and see if any survive. So very happy hearing about your adventures and life returning to normal.
Tracey - I stopped by the wood scrap bins yesterday morning - not much there for me to bring home and add to the firewood pile. But every time I stop there I think of you and your craft projects and how I found some really neat large pieces last year. Love your jewelry hangers.
Allie - congrats on the weight loss, you are doing so well despite your dietary challenges with your kidneys. So glad you have Dan nearby to help you with things.
Barbie - what a great opportunity to over things with Jake's daughter, and a new vacuum and some housecleaning to boot. Choosing an executor and POA can be a challenging decision and you folks made the right one. Luckily my executor and POA "T" lives close by and I go over things with her constantly, and I want her input on making decisions around here. I don't want her to have to sort out a mess if I die tomorrow.
Eat, Fast and Live Longer - The Every Other Day Diet: do any of you who watched this documentary by Michael Mosley recall his interview with Dr. Krista Varady, in Chicago? She was researching the "Every Other Day Diet" where participants ate normally (whatever they wanted!) one day then ate 500 calories the next day, then repeated that pattern. It was successful and easy for most to follow once they got the hang of it.
I found a free .pdf version of the book if anyone is interested (hope this link works):
https://ia801500.us.archive.org/6/items/the-every-other-day-diet-pdfdrive/The Every-Other-Day Diet ( PDFDrive ).pdf
Reminder to please get me your Weekly Check-In info by noon tomorrow. TIA
Much more I wanted to comment on but I need to head out to the shop and spiff up the mower while I'm thinking about it.

Lisa and Barbie - Thank you for noticing my rise in spirits and energy. I have a new sympathy for anyone in constant pain. Wretched.
I'm enjoying just the little things I can do now. Today I shined the sink, shined the teabag bowl and spoon, boiled a kettle with vinegar to clean it, and I was able to take the water outside to pour on the weeds on the front path. It was so hard before to even get up and down one step. Yesterday, I cleared a space around the thyme in the front. Bending down was impossible before.
For some reason, John doesn't mind having empty bottles behind the sink. I hate it, but had to put up with it. Now I can take the bottles outside for collection. I like my sink area clean and empty.
It truly is joyous. If I see the birdbath is empty, I can fill it!
I remember the date before my op as a long, dark, tunnel. The nights were horrendous. Most people have to wait like this for a year or more.
I'm not looking forward to the next op, but the discomfort will be temporary and short lived. I hope all of you out there who are suffering pain , that you can get some relief.
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Barbie ~ You were blessed by Jake's daughter and husband's visit. They sound like really good people and I am glad you were able to discuss the POA with the daughter.
Lisa ~ Egg looks very comfortable on your desk. Glad Cory was safe after sawing on that tree.
Lanette ~ Your interest in improving your health is so admirable. Must admit that I am not good about reading health saving articles.
Kim ~ The 29 hr visit sounds like a great mini vacation for you.
I am really mad at myself. I made an appointment to see my favorite dentist because the area around the new crown has been giving me pains. Cancelled the appt. because I decided it must be sinus congestion. Now, I realize that there actually is a problem and just hope I can book an appt again. Making any appointments with dr's is difficult where we live.

Did a bosu 4 in 1 DVD today (just half, I’ll do the other half another day) then went for a walk in the neighborhood. I’ve learned that even early in the a.m., I need to take my water bottle with me. Then went to WalMart for a few things I can’t get at the other WalMart. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any of the cottage cheese I wanted. Oh, they had a much smaller (and more expensive) size. But I can wait.
Decided to return all of the shorts and then make a new order for a smaller size. The one I was going to return I’m buying two different sizes and I’ll just return the one I don’t want. What a pain!
One of the ladies last night had some clams so I took the shells for around our pool. I have an area where we just have shells. I get a lot of them from the Canaveral seashore and this area reminds me of FL
Heather – Jess and Vince are like John, in and out of the store. I like to browse, you never know what you’ll find. And which is cheaper??? I’m constantly amazed at how much you do so soon after the surgery. You sound so much better
Ordered more of the protein bars from Amazon. 10 grams of protein and only 100 calories with none of that artificial sugar
barbie – what a wonderful gift! I always appreciate getting gifts I can use
Mollie TN – welcome! This forum has been compared to a kitchen table that we all sit around and talk about everything that affects us because our lives affect how we eat. And you get some really good ideas here. I’m so sorry about your injury.
KJ – feel better fast. As you know, get lots of rest and hydrate!
Jess seems to be doing well planting onions, peppers, and other stuff. I don’t know where she got the gardening thing from...certainly not me. I do wish she would come here and plant some plants for me. Maybe, just maybe, they’ll live. On that note...the plants I planted haven’t died so far. So far. Yea me!!

who is going out to the pool, then will probably return the shorts later this afternoon. It’s supposed to rain. Supposedly4 -

Mollie, welcome to our friendly community. We were all new at one time. Just keep coming back and commenting on what interests you. One great thing about us is that we are supportive--we don't scold or fault find. I love that.
Heather, I have had several issues (including surgery) with my back over the last 25 years. Because of that, I am grateful every day for being pain free and mobile. It sounds like it you have that same outlook.
Carol, sorry to hear about your dentist appointment. Appointments are hard to get here, too.
Michele, When I went through what seemed to be an endless cycle of buying jeans that didn't fit and returning them, I was so grateful for the nearby store that allowed me to drop of Amazon and UPS return packages. They made it so easy for me. Finally I found the style and size of jeans I wanted and bought five pair.
Today I heard a story about a man who near the end of his life had suffered with so many health problems that he needed help with everything. Someone asked him how he was able to endure what was going on. He said "I have vowed to not complain". That's how I'd like to be.
I got to walk with my friend this morning without the dog. It was glorious.

Happy birthday Allie!
Cloudy day today. Been to church. New pastor starts tomorrow and his first Sunday will be next week. We are having a pie feast to celebrate his first Sunday. He mentioned in a get to know him video that his favorite potluck food was strawberry-rhubarb pie. How many of those will be brought do you think? He said his favorite is cherry.
Heather - so glad you are feeling so much better. That first hip must have been much the worst.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA3 -
Mollie - Welcome! Keep your eyes out for Barbie's link to July, coming soon to a post near here...
Carol - Yes, Corey makes a habit of scaring me out of ten years growth on a regular basis. I don't think I'll ever get past 5'2" tall at this rate.
Barbie - What a lovely thing for Jake's daughter and husband to do. Those who care in such wonderful ways for their families are so rare, and so glad they're in your lives.
Got most of the bits ticked off my to-do list, all my chores, and even made cookies. Corey ate the last one last night, so I had to get another batch together. Froze a bunch, and baked a couple.
While I was toasting oats and pecans, etc., in the oven for the cookies, I got his fresh tomatoes cut up and roasting with onions and garlic. He took those and reduced all that down with the fresh basil I'd frozen a few weeks ago, and turned it into a stunning marinara. (I don't know about you, but I heard me say that in Gordon Ramsay's voice. 😃) I love being his sous chef! I don't play second fiddle for many people. 🥰
He kept out enough to go with meatballs and pasta tonight, and then canned five jars of that and a couple jars of pickles. He's still got a year's worth of salsa from last year's harvest, so he's concentrating this year on marinara and some RoTel - style concoctions of tomatoes and peppers that are terrific in any Mexican dish. Love being married to a cook!
Time to relax and enjoy the rest of the day.
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa in AR

Lisa - it sounds like the branch hitting the ladder was an omen - made calling the "tree guy" a win! Glad it worked out well. Whew. By the way, I enjoyed that photo of Egg. One of the best kitties we ever had was a short-haired gray kitty with extra toes. Named him "Mitts" which fit. Loving and nice and a good mouser. He ruled the barn.
Carol - when DH was here and I was in the midst of all kinds of things, I didn't have much time or interest in studying about health. I was preoccupied with HIS health. You have so much going on - your knees, your DH's health and now this tooth. Hope you can get an appointment real soon. Crossing fingers your dentist keeps open appointments in his schedule for emergencies.
Allie! Happy 39th again! Siri is one beautiful kitty. Give her a hug for me.
