Good morning beautiful ladies!
Rosemarie glad your son is moving closer. Yay!
Tracey yes interviewing takes forever. But it's good to work for a company that is careful about hiring.
Rori hope your medical adventure ends smoothly.
I have to take my dad with me shopping today. We will be ordering food for the party. I hope he can be patient. I haven't left him alone for months now, but I'm sure he thinks he would be fine at home. But we will try together. Maybe I can bribe him with lunch.
Have a great day! May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Heather: DH. Is the same with tools. He has several of many of them. Can’t persuade him to wean them out 😂 Mind you, I’m the same with craft/art supplies.
Allie: 😍 The hair.
I have a running to do list, and prioritise daily. I seldom completely clear it as some things are ongoing.
Up early this morning to do weekly grocery shopping. Bill was a bit higher this week as there were a few goodies for our 58th Wedding Anniversary tomorrow. Cleaned the fridge out before stashing today’s food. Defrosted the fridge last week and cleared lots of space.
Shelled some fresh peas, and prepped Brussels sprouts before lunch. I have the gammon simmering for tonight’s salad, so have a couple of hours to chilL after I have yesterdays laundry put away,
Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

Mo - I'm surprised they didn't order orthotics for both of your feet to keep things balanced. I wear Powerstep insoles I got from Amazon in my gardening shoes and have even worn the orthotic in one of my walking shoes and the Powerstep in the other. Something like that might help if you can't get an orthotic for the other foot.
Kim - thank you for the "Play it Again Sports" lead. The closest store is over 100 miles from me, though with the growth in my area, I can see one coming in closer eventually. The gym I go to opens at 5, so I could easily swing in there when I'm in town shopping and use their treadmills. I just need to remember to do it. It will be easier when winter comes.
Allie - love your haircut. It probably will take a little more care than the style you had, but it looks like it would be fine with just some scrunching. Sorry about your brother's woes, hopefully he has a friend who can ferry him around and even provide a place to stay if he needs it. Seems like it would be pretty stressful having him live with you and you don't need any more stress with your health issues!
Terri - Happy Anniversary!!!
Tracey - glad they contacted you about the next interview. Maybe one of the decision makers was on vacation or something. They sure are taking their time, but at least there's progress.
About Foot Pain:I've been thinking about foot pain and how it's now known it can often be helped - or even prevented - with the daily calf (and also hamstring) stretches. I wish medical providers would start emphasizing this when we get into our 50's and beyond instead of just jumping into the "walk more" advice.
I bet if they talked about the importance of daily stretching to avoid foot injuries and to also help with balance, some of us seniors could remain active longer. At least that's applicable in my case. My mom stopped walking for exercise in her later years due to "balance problems" and painful feet, mainly bunions and probably toe misalignment. Dementia and broken hip followed that inactivity. Correlation or causation, who knows? I wonder how different her final years might have been if her foot pain (which might have affected her balance) could have been taken care of early on - maybe before it developed. Wake up call for me.
I got my early morning walk in (it was 48F, not 72F like Pip had this morning! Ack! ) then ran next door to pick blueberries those neighbors generously offered. Between them and Roger across the street, I'm getting plenty to eat fresh and to stick in the freezer. A doe was laying under the apple tree in my front yard. She stood up and was prepared to run when I walked past, but I told her not to worry, and she lay back down. I love my little slice of nature here.
I'm taking Rosie to the vet in a couple hours for yearly exam and shots. What a feeling of freedom to not have any other appointments this week. To have the choice of what day I make my early morning trip to the grocery instead of working around a schedule and having to deal with crowds by shopping later while I'm in town for something else! The introvert in me gets rattled at having to deal with busyness.
Better close for now. Sending hugs to those who need them.

@Allie I love the haircut Allie! Looks good on you. I let my hair go natural when I turned 50. I had been dying it black prior to that. Had it cut short to get rid of the dye lines and dyed it blond to let the white come in better. Well, the dye burned my hair so had to go back and get it cut shorter. I used to have shoulder length hair before I let it go white. I keep it short now and have a wavy pixie. My hair has a lot of wave to it. Nice cut on you!!

Ps.. I’d let your brother fend for himself if he is as bad as you described. Helping him only helps him stay the way he is with no ambition to fix himself. I believe in tough love. I need to use it on my son or I would be in a really bad state.5 -

Morning, my chickens,
Hope all are doing well...
Carol: Glad you're home and recovering. Every single bit of physical therapy you do, every move you make will make your recovery faster, and will get you out of pain and on your way to walking easily again!
Rori - Hope the procedure goes well, and the results are great!
Allie - Love the hair, and as someone who goes quite short on mine all the time, I can tell you that you'll get used to it in the mirror. It's always a shock to me at first, and I surprise myself in the mirror every morning for awhile... 😁
Been reading along, but not reacting for a bit, couple of tough days, but woke feeling better today. First Skyrizi injection at home yesterday.
Good news from the VA in sort of a sideways direction this morning. Found some unexpected funds in my bank account, went looking, and the VA has upped me to 30% (another 10) and deposited the backpay for the rise.
That didn't hurt my mood any! Between the new rise and my Social Security, I'm now bringing home 80% of what I was making in take-home pay before I quit work. Makes me feel like I'm genuinely holding up my side of our partnership.
Later, my chickens,

Yeah Lisa- good for you !
Got out early and ran errands with Doris and took her grocery shopping..she gives me 1/2 her list,so it goes a bit quicker..found some knock off Hey Dudes and some kids socks for Miles and cost me 14.00 not bad..
Got her home and all set before 11:30
Thanks for all the compliments on the hair..yes it will take some doing daily but thats ok.. and we shall see how it goes without color
Going to take a snooze.only got 3 and 1/2 hrs sleep last night.5 -
Tracy - Here's one for Rodger. I think I'm going to get a t-shirt like this for Corey.

Terri - many congratulations! You do seem happy together ❤️.
Lisa- Wondered why we hadn't heard from you.
Had my Zoom today and sent them a photo of why I'm so happy with my rotating shelf.
You can see how high it is for little me!
Another friend rang to wish me happy operation while I was on the Zoom. I rang her back afterwards. We shared a flat at university.
Just about to make some yoghurt.

Pip - 82??? Ack! Ack! Ack!
Lisa - thank for the update. Congrats on the "raise" - every little bit helps. You worked hard enough throughout your life and earned every penny! I missed you this morning too.
EDIT - almost forgot. Rosie had a good visit with the Vet this morning. Bad teeth of course, tho the course of antibiotics she takes every other month is helping a little. Dr. Amanda said at her age (Rosie is 7) she doesn't recommend Rosie going under anesthesia for a dental. Too risky. Amanda said she might survive it, but come back with some of her faculties compromised.... If her teeth fall out, they just do. What a big change from the Vet who used to own the practice. I remember him recommending the dental for our old schnoodle Sophie when she was past 10.

Allie, No problem drinker/drugger/gambler/etc. ever worked hard enough to recover as long as "loving" friends and family continued to rescue. Just say no to your brother. So what if it costs a fortune for him to get a taxi or Uber or something. He made the mess. He needs to clean it up.9

Terri - Happy Anniversary!
Carol - keep icing and moving. It will be great in about 3 months. I have had both knees done and so glad.
Pip - do you take a siesta in the afternoons or go to bed really early?
Rori - hope test results are good.
Nice here. Got some more mowing done. Everyone take care, Sue in WA4 -

The thought of a nap during the day sounds like heaven but I just can’t do it. Depending on the day and how I feel, we will go to bed early, 8 or so, kirby usually goes to bed before me. He ALWAYS gets up earlier than I do, he doesn’t need an alarm clock, he just gets up .
Stats for the day-
Walk w/family- *carried Chispa for last 1.5mi in pouch* 2hrs 4min 53sec, 112elev, 2.91ap, 82ahr, 98mhr, 6.97mi= 586c
Strava app = 744c
Zwift home spin bike- short ride, zwift didn’t record- 22.42min, 99ahr, 128mhr, 4.1mi= 116c
Total cal 702
Couldn’t take a longer ride, internet wasn’t working and I had a 9:30am appointment.

Terri-congratulations on your anniversary!
Rebecca-glad you are going to see sister.
Tracey-there can be lots of reasons why interviews get delayed. We never send rejections until someone we have offered job to accepts it-they have been known to decline an offer. I wouldn't be bothered by that because many times it is a slim difference between two candidates. As someone else said, someone involved could have suddenly been out of office. The timeframe you are experiencing does not sound undue to me.
Lanette-agree with you on the foot-we are now working on all things in leg to help mine. Too early to tell but I am hopeful.
Allie-I join the group that says you must let brother stand on his own. It doesn't help him that Jean has enabled all of these years. You don't need to enable either one of them-you can always love from a distance.
We to doctor at Ohio State today. Cancer is once again stable (CT scans show no significant changes and blood work is stable. So-bloodwork every three months to monitor levels and a chest CT in January. Got bone density scan scheduled for February since I said I would follow up after implant done. Don't know that I will go back on fosomax but will get tests before final decision.
Having a bit of a gentle rain here-it is needed but grass is almost back to green.
Off to lady's group tonight.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio11 -

Thanks for all the good thoughts. Colonoscopy is done. One small polyp found and removed. Yay! Really wasn't too bad.
FYI: I followed Allie's tip of drinking prep solution over ice with a straw. Also added small amounts of Good Earth spicy tea (Thanks, Debbie for recommending this product years ago) to cut the solution when it got hard to finish the last gulps in the glass. It has a strong cinnamon and ginger finish which really cut the yucky flavor and thickness. And then, I chewed my favorite gym to finish clearing my palate and enjoy a fresher mouth.
I'll be back here once I catch up reading. Till then, stay well.

Had a bit of a scare this afternoon as I was getting ready to leave for class. A friend messaged me to let me know there was a fire on the road mom lives on. Just a few miles down the road from her. Called and of course got mom's answering machine. I went online with the info friend gave me to see exactly where it was and then another friend messaged me. Her mom lives at the other end of the same road-about the same distance from the fire so she let me know more about it.
It is 35% contained now- at 50 acres. Thankfully it was a small one. Mom has been evacuated two other times during the fires. One of them came to the back door of the people directly across the street from her and the heat was so hot that it warped the green house roof of mom and dad's. That was a scary time- I was stranded at the church camp for a week(supposed to be there for 2 days)-with out power.
