Mo - I'm surprised they didn't order orthotics for both of your feet to keep things balanced. I wear Powerstep insoles I got from Amazon in my gardening shoes and have even worn the orthotic in one of my walking shoes and the Powerstep in the other. Something like that might help if you can't get an orthotic for the other foot.

Kim - thank you for the "Play it Again Sports" lead. The closest store is over 100 miles from me, though with the growth in my area, I can see one coming in closer eventually. The gym I go to opens at 5, so I could easily swing in there when I'm in town shopping and use their treadmills. I just need to remember to do it. It will be easier when winter comes.

Allie - love your haircut. It probably will take a little more care than the style you had, but it looks like it would be fine with just some scrunching. Sorry about your brother's woes, hopefully he has a friend who can ferry him around and even provide a place to stay if he needs it. Seems like it would be pretty stressful having him live with you and you don't need any more stress with your health issues!

    Terri - <3 Happy Anniversary!!! <3

Tracey - glad they contacted you about the next interview. Maybe one of the decision makers was on vacation or something. They sure are taking their time, but at least there's progress.

    About Foot Pain:
I've been thinking about foot pain and how it's now known it can often be helped - or even prevented - with the daily calf (and also hamstring) stretches. I wish medical providers would start emphasizing this when we get into our 50's and beyond instead of just jumping into the "walk more" advice.

I bet if they talked about the importance of daily stretching to avoid foot injuries and to also help with balance, some of us seniors could remain active longer. At least that's applicable in my case. My mom stopped walking for exercise in her later years due to "balance problems" and painful feet, mainly bunions and probably toe misalignment. Dementia and broken hip followed that inactivity. Correlation or causation, who knows? I wonder how different her final years might have been if her foot pain (which might have affected her balance) could have been taken care of early on - maybe before it developed. Wake up call for me.

I got my early morning walk in (it was 48F, not 72F like Pip had this morning! Ack! ) then ran next door to pick blueberries those neighbors generously offered. Between them and Roger across the street, I'm getting plenty to eat fresh and to stick in the freezer. A doe was laying under the apple tree in my front yard. She stood up and was prepared to run when I walked past, but I told her not to worry, and she lay back down. I love my little slice of nature here.

I'm taking Rosie to the vet in a couple hours for yearly exam and shots. What a feeling of freedom to not have any other appointments this week. To have the choice of what day I make my early morning trip to the grocery instead of working around a schedule and having to deal with crowds by shopping later while I'm in town for something else! The introvert in me gets rattled at having to deal with busyness. :p

Better close for now. Sending hugs to those who need them. <3

Pip - 82??? Ack! Ack! Ack!

Lisa - thank for the update. Congrats on the "raise" - every little bit helps. You worked hard enough throughout your life and earned every penny! I missed you this morning too. :p

EDIT - almost forgot. Rosie had a good visit with the Vet this morning. Bad teeth of course, tho the course of antibiotics she takes every other month is helping a little. Dr. Amanda said at her age (Rosie is 7) she doesn't recommend Rosie going under anesthesia for a dental. Too risky. Amanda said she might survive it, but come back with some of her faculties compromised.... If her teeth fall out, they just do. What a big change from the Vet who used to own the practice. I remember him recommending the dental for our old schnoodle Sophie when she was past 10.

    Terri - Happy Anniversary!

Carol - keep icing and moving. It will be great in about 3 months. I have had both knees done and so glad.

Pip - do you take a siesta in the afternoons or go to bed really early?

Rori - hope test results are good.

Nice here. Got some more mowing done. Everyone take care, Sue in WA

Thanks for all the good thoughts. Colonoscopy is done. One small polyp found and removed. Yay! Really wasn't too bad.

FYI: I followed Allie's tip of drinking prep solution over ice with a straw. Also added small amounts of Good Earth spicy tea (Thanks, Debbie for recommending this product years ago) to cut the solution when it got hard to finish the last gulps in the glass. It has a strong cinnamon and ginger finish which really cut the yucky flavor and thickness. And then, I chewed my favorite gym to finish clearing my palate and enjoy a fresher mouth.

I'll be back here once I catch up reading. Till then, stay well.
