Barbie: So good to hear good news about Jake. I think the wind blown look to your new hair style might be hard to maintain. It will be interesting to see the cut when it grows out in 2 weeks. Michelle: I have pretty much stopped going out to eat. Even my running to Starbucks has slowed down!

Well the breaking news here is that my son texted me that he and his spouse found a house they like in Middle GA. They
have been here with me multiple nights. They have looked at other houses. Apparently they are awaiting finance approval before making an offer. I thought you could make an offer contingent upon the inspection and financing with some funds to hold the house. But I haven't asked too many questions...at least I hope not.
Also we had a flash flood 2.5 inches of rain in
5 to 12 minutes. I felt for sure my crawl space was wet. Serve Pro came out in the dark and went into the crawl space and
said it was dry. The next morning they came and took pictures to confirm this. They said they were not charging me!

Rori-I found the last time I had to drink that stuff last time- I made up the jug..refrigerated it ahead of time and when I drank it I used a straw. 2 big helps on that front...1

Heather - is that the last of the blood work before your op?
I don’t care for wings either. I buy them for Rodger though. He has different spices that he uses for them.
Carol - That was quick. I hope the recovery period is smooth and short.
Lanette - We really need a few days of rain here. Rodger went to work this morning but was sent home again. He said you could barely see the street lights on the highway this morning.
Jasper has been evacuated, everyone had to leave to go West into BC because the fire was blocking the highway to go East.
It seems calves have a lot to do with foot issues for a lot of problems.
Kim - that’s a good idea for the box fan. We do have an AC this year I don’t smell the smoke in the house, but it sure is bad outside.
Allie - what a mess your brother is in. Hopefully he can find his way through.

I took Patches home today, I did take one more picture on the way and then a picture of Michaela holding her. I think Michaela may end up “forgetting” Patches again.
She seemed maybe a little sad that the adventure is over. She was also quite excited to tell me that they went to the World Waterpark inside West Edmonton Mall yesterday and she was tall enough to ride all of the rides.
I went and bought some groceries on my way home.
I also heard from my interview, they wanted to know my availability for next week to have the phone interview with head office. I’m frustrated it’s taking so long, but maybe the other candidate will accept an offer in the meantime.
I applied originally on June 26th, got the first call on July 8th, the call to set up the interview on July 11th for July 18th and now will be more than a week for a second interview. Hopefully they make up their minds shortly after this.

Rosemarie - I hope you are OK with having such long-term visitors. Even beloved family can get too much. Do speak up if you need your space back. Of course, you may enjoy it!

I managed to excavate eight jars from the top shelf of the fridge that looked a bit like they had outlived their welcome.
Some were preserved in vinegar, so probably OK, but I think I would be reluctant to use them. I have no idea how long ago I opened them! I had to scoop the contents out onto newspaper, and then put the debris into plastic bags. Then I washed the jars for recycling. The only jars I kept were one I had bought to make homemade plum jam, (6/7 years old) and a pretty one that had duck fat in it. I had used some fat, one Christmas, for roast potatoes, but the residue had been there for several years. It smelt ok, but I scooped it out! 
So all clean now. I will finish clearing and cleaning the shelf today and install my lazy Susan. Not before time, I think. 
When we moved from our old house, which was 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, we spent a long time beforehand decluttering. Threw loads away, took a lot of china and kitchen bits to the charity shop, used the local dump a LOT, and big stuff went on Freecycle. People came in vans and took away a huge dresser, a sofa, a glass cabinet, a cast iron bedhead, pictures, garden stuff. Each time we rejoiced as they drove away!
We have kept reasonably on top of things in this house, but we do like to declutter the utility room and garage periodically. Freecycle is still our friend, and Amnesty has taken thousands of books. I would like to get rid of more pictures and a mirror that are lurking, unloved. And sort through a collection of sentimental china, (my grandmother's etc) that I am probably much more able to let go of, now I have changed my mind set. They are in a box in the garage, waiting for the front bedroom to be decorated. That is not going to happen soon, and it will be six years since we moved in. John hates spending money on the house interior.
When we actually moved, we packed up the many books, but the removal men packed up the house in one day, including all the bits and pieces, came back the next for the last bed, sofa, chairs etc, and got us down to Hove the same day , furniture set in position, beds assembled, and boxes in the hall. I preferred to do my own unboxing.
If there is one class of men I actually admire, it would be removal men. Every time we have moved, we have seen endless patience, humour, gentleness, strength, and people skills. We had huge pieces of heavy gym equipment to get up and down perilous stairs. Masses of kitchen and dining stuff. An antique glass cabinet to be winched over a balcony. A complicated bed to be dismantled and reassembled, with endless slats.
One company had to move their van endless times, because we lived then in a narrow country lane, and cars couldn't get past. They never lost their temper!
A different class of human being!
Now to take John his cup of tea.

Hi everyone! I missed chatting with you guys. I just finished my stretch on Monday. I slept all day and night. Before I left work, my blue-eyed Cherub and I had a bedtime disagreement. I told her that it was bedtime, and I laid her down. She bucked and sat right up and had big tears in her eyes. I sang to her and rubbed her back. Then, the respiratory therapist took over, and she was out. In the morning, she patted my hand and gave me a big smile. I had a small one that was way down the hall, and that felt like life was over if he didn't have his pacifier. I have one that I have taken care of since she was a baby, off and on. She just turned four, and now they are talking about letting her go to Jesus. It is hard cause she smiles and talks all night and mimics Gracies Corner. I had two kids on the ventilator to care for and my guy who is addicted to the pacifier. The Cherub was another nurse's patient. We just all have to help with her.
I did get my orthotic, and it is hard to walk in. I need symmetry, and my hip is starting to hurt in it. The therapist suggested I get a new pair of shoes, which is beautiful. I genuinely believe I need an orthotic on my other foot for symmetry.
I booked the trip to see my baby boy and am so excited! Now, I need to plan what to do.
@Snowflake1968- When I get back, I will scrapbook my trip. How did the interview go?
@LisaInArkansas- my sleep schedule is chaotic. I work nights and tend to want to sleep during the day. Now, it is 12:48 a.m., and I am wide awake. When I moved to Chicago, I told my husband I wanted to work from home. He wants me to work at the NICU at the University of Chicago. We will see about that.
@grandmallie, your little grandbaby boy is so cute. I would have a hard time saying no to him.
@Machka9- How is the house coming along? Did you order anything for it during Prime days?
RVRita - I love your water bottle; it is so stylish.
Annie, it is essential for you to take time. Go wild and carve out more time to read. I love books, and it is so hard to make myself relax. As I am typing this out, I just remembered that I need to bring some cash for my mom's field trip. I pray that your dad will get used to Day Care soon.

Welp I was awakened by the dog and the cat at 2:15 am..how rude..taking Doris grocery shopping today..so hopefully will get a bit more sleep ..need to hop in the shower..only thing about short hair is I'll have to wash and style it,because I look a fright when I get out of bed .
I did start packing some stuff for the cruise.. toiletries and other stuff.

Fridge shelf - done! Yes, DrKatie, I think it will be great to be able to see and reach everything. I found and threw away a chilli pickle jar first thing this morning. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I only used them once. John was concerned about me standing on some steps, so he took the shelf out and washed it. Filthy! I really had not been able to see it, or reach to the back, even on steps.
I will have to explain to him how the swivel mechanism works, because his blackcurrant jam is at the back.
I did that first thing after breakfast, because John works at the dining table in the morning. Then I went for my antiseptic shower and I have to change towels and clothes. Lots of washing.
Right now I'm taking my colourless nail varnish off and trimming nails. I won't be able to reach my feet for a while!
Smoked salmon pasta tonight, with Philly and snow peas, scallions, garlic. Green salad.
I have my Zoom this afternoon, but one of us won't be there as she has her step granddaughter visiting from New Zealand, and they have a rare break in the awful Scottish weather.
My elder son is on holiday in Norfolk, and seems to be loving it. Lots of Facebook posts. He so rarely goes on a proper holiday. They are renting a dog friendly cottage.

Just wanted to mention the latest Minimal Mum vlog on YouTube. 'Betrayed By My Stuff'. It's about her huge basement which keeps getting water ingress. It reminded me of Machka and her rental. Very, very useful insights on 'stuff'. I think she's very brave putting all this on camera. The comments prove how many people she is helping. I am resolved to get up into my garage loft when I'm healed up. It requires a tall stepladder.
I also had a discussion with John this morning about garden tools he no longer uses. Every time i see them, it annoys me. He is 78 now, and his back isn't good. Hedge trimmer and weed whacker. When I asked him about them he said the batteries weren't working properly. He agreed we ought to test them out, and donate them if they are working, or take them to the tip. Why he has been hanging on to them is a mystery. Broken things that need repairing are just fantasy objects that will never get mended, except in your wildest dreams.
I might ask my son to take some large broken electricals to the tip for us - microwave etc.
And that reminds me, I have a couple of items of jewellery that need repairing. My gold hoop earrings have broken again, and my wedding ring is missing a tiny chip of a diamond. Put them on my to do list.

I've got one and I really like it. I have used it for running, and hope to do that again when it is set up in our new gym. But it's also great for a walk, especially when it is dark and cold after work in the winter.

Australia doesn't seem to do Prime days. I'm not sure when they are.
