@Teresa502 wow, sounds like you are exercising more on vacation than when you are home Glad you got a nice massage. Now go hit that buffet
This is the norm for me. I take advantage of not having work and life responsibilities!5 -

It was a pretty morning. It was 75°, so not really cool, but still cooler than the last few weeks. I totally ignored Hal's plan for a 3 mile base run and just ran my usual 6 mile run.

Last run of the month, and I needed 3.4 miles to get my target, so my route was meticulously planned last night. Got a 5k PB - and I wasn’t even trying to run fast, it was a side effect of needing to get in the distance (and post run stretch) before starting work, so that’s a cherry on top.
It’s lovely having a group of people to share this new journey with - hubby just thinks I’m nuts, and I’m shy about sharing my latest PB’s with anybody else. Thank you for the motivation, and your life updates and stories.
My daughter is taking me to visit my son and his fiancé this weekend (wedding dress shopping with her), so we’re going running on Sunday morning together ‘for fun’ while my daughter has a lie-in… oh, how times have changed!7 -

I always seem to hit the wrong button when I switch from warm up to the cadence drills.
Just out of interest - I’m still 4 weeks from finishing my first Garmin Coach program - what button do you need to press for that?
I ran the ‘optional’ additional minutes the first few times because I didn’t realise I could press ‘lap’ to skip it (now I know I can, I don’t!).5 -
Morning all.
Got in 8.32 miles at 08"28. Stepped on it. Thought bring up 200 in style
203.3 with a day to spare8 -
You've got this @WarmJellyfish !
Nice job ignoring Hal @kgirlhart . Glad it's a little bit cooler.
@AmunahSki Congratulations on your 5K PB! You are doing great. I agree that this group is great for sharing and motivation. Most of the people I know IRL could care less and just don't understand. Enjoy your visit (and run) with your son and dress shopping with his fiancé. Congrats to them. What is a lie in?
Wow! Amazing @tarun_yadavA !4 -
@quilteryoyo thank you 😊
And well done to @Laurz9191 ... Beat me to it (+1 timezone though lol)
Some phenomenal running this month!!5 -
Hi everyone!
Unlike @tarun_yadavA I did not run my final 6.1k for my 200 miles in such a cool style! Great job!!!
My body seems to have recovered from overheating yesterday and the run was enjoyable. It rained last night which meant the slugs were out in full force and weather wasn’t an issue. Since I have 15km of racing tomorrow and probably should have taken a rest day today, I took it easy today . I am excited to see how I do in the obstacle course, as they usually also involve lots of upper body strength which I have done zero training for. I am sure it will be fun regardless of whether I can complete the monkey bars and co , but it would be nice if I could.
322.1/270 km for August.4 -
@quilteryoyo thanks!0

HUGE kudos to @tarun_yadavA and @Laurz9191 for hitting 200+ miles this month!! Wow 😲💪
@WarmJellyfish big round of applause for your 200KM month! 👏👏
Congrats @AmunahSki for your 5k PR!

@AmunahSki I don't know how I missed responding to your question earlier. It is the lap/segment button that I push...am supposed to push. I wish it would just go from warm up to the drills, but it doesn't. More times than not, I'll hit the stop button instead and notice it AFTER I did the first drill. Yesterday, I did hit the segment button, but it wasn't registering a cadence, so I thought I had hit stop, hit stop to start and it did stop it, so it was all messed up. LOL
@Laurz9191 I'm glad you recovered from yesterday's hot run. Congrats on reaching 200 miles! Enjoy the obstacle course tomorrow. I'm with you with not having any upper body strength, hence one of the reasons I am going to the gym. You're going to do great!

67.00/60.00 goal
I went to the gym this morning. My workout was a lot of legs, including pulling the tire up the hill by the gym 3 times. That works on my legs and gets my HR up.
After I got home, I went ahead and did a easy driveway wun. It was already hot and I didn't feel like running the hills after the gym workout.5 -
No running. I’m on summer vacation and am either doing nothing or walking up tiny volcanoes 😅7

The first run at home after several on the hills felt so much easier today! Still hot but a few degrees makes a difference along with the lack of hills! I decided it's time to start transitioning back to continuous running ahead of picking up a training plan. I did the entire run without walk breaks at a very easy pace and I felt good. It was reassuring to see that my fitness held up throughout the summer with very little continuous running.
I need to start planning out my fall so I can decide when to start a training cycle. I don't currently have an A race on my calendar but I have a weekend in March that I will shoot for as a target for that.5 -

Yep, end of the month rapidly closing in on us! September is on approach!5 -
Dang. Thanks @AlphaHowls ✅
Well I am not going to make 1K miles to date for the year but I will make 990 so that is close. 🤷♀️ The good news is that my walking miles and tennis activity is increased so even if my running is not as prolific the workouts are still happening.

Enjoy your vacation @yirara !
Great running @martaindale !
Thanks @AlphaHowls ! It is really hard to believe that August is over already!
You are doing great @SummerSkier ! You'll get to 1K miles in the first week of Sept, I'm sure. It's hard to get those miles in when being active with other things.

148.88/130 miles completed for August
The plan called for a 31 minute 3 mile HM pace run. Hal's pace was 9:55-10:30 min per mile. I think that is a little slower than I want if I want to beat my current HM PR of 2:07. I ran 3.15 miles in 31 minutes and had a pace of 9:55. So Hal was happy and I had a good run and ended August with 148 miles. I could go for 2 miles tomorrow to round it up to 150, but I think I will take my scheduled rest day. I need new shoes and my feet could use a rest.

August is done and I only made it to 153.5 out of my 200k goal. It was always going to be a challenge as the past few months have risen slowly from 160 to 175. This month I lost about 36km to tooth implant and niggly back, with the niggly back preventing me pushing for that extra 10k too.
No matter, onwards and upwards - I’ll start again tomorrow.
Everyone else seems to have smashed it this month - I’m looking at you @AmunahSki @tarun_yadavA, @Laurz9191, @WarmJellyfish and @quilteryoyo!
Keep up the good work and I’ll see you in September (when it’s officially spring!).7
