πΆββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈ Setting a goal π―π―π― and reaching it!

Years ago I weighed 288 lbs used a power chair 97% of the time. When I decided to start to lose weight. I'd lay in bed doing all I could to move one leg, than the other, later one arm, later an arm. That was my start. In time I started to take a few steps adding in a little bit more at a time. I had moved out of state (From Maine to Colorado where a Dr helped my spine to line up better after a bad car accident) which helped me to walk better, but I still had a long way to go!!
When I moved back to Maine I'd look out my window seeing a main walking path in the city which overlooks the harbor. I used to think "Oh I want to walk down to the park at the end of the pathway!" But, I NEVER THOUGHT I'd get there!!!
As I lost weight, I hit a plateau. I went looking online for support to lose weight. That was in 2010. Here I am!!! This picture was taken in 2018. I had FINALLY made it to that goal!! You can see I was QUITE HAPPY!!!
From 2010 until now I've had 25 foot surgies , I've broken my foot 5 or 6 times and also 2 bone infections in my left foot. My walking had gone to approximately 1500 steps a day. What did I do? I set a small goal again!! My first goal in 2022 was to do 1800 steps a day, I later upped it to 2000 to 2100 to 2800 to 3200 a day, over time I am now at 4100 steps, but about to go up to 4500 a day!!
BUT!! I didn't do this on my own. I belong to the 5% Challenge, on the teams most of them (there are 8 teams within the 5% Challenge) have a Step Challenge where we compete NOT against each other, but against ourselves!! That has been encouraging me so much. My weight is at 178 right now I want it DOWN more (From 288). I NEED the support. The 5% also works on healthy habits which I also need.
Would you like to have the same support to reach your exercise/healthy goals? When you exercise (This part motives and excites me so much!) each minute you exercise, we are in a race with the 8 teams in which 4 or 5 teams like to compete (if you are non competive that's fine also, there are the other teams which are not) each minute you exercise moves your team closer to racing across the finish line, but after that we also continue to work and get ready for the next week.
