    >> Daily calories: 1200-1600
    >> Daily net carbs: <80
    >> Daily water: 100+ oz
    >> Weekly exercise: 3x dance, 2x weights, 5x walking 1+ miles

    Oct. 1 - 239.2 | Weight training + walking | 1547 calories, 78 net carbs | 559 deficit + 531 burned
    Oct. 2 - 238.8 | Walking + Zumba | 1273 calories, 56 net carbs | 828 deficit + 230 burned
    Oct. 3 - 238.0 | Aqua Zumba + Walking | 1210 calories, 56 net carbs | 886 deficit + nothing but my sanity burned
    Oct. 4 - 237.4 | Weight training + Zumba + walking |

Diet: Nothing huge to report. It's on track. :-) It's so freaking humid and hot right now that it's easy to stay on top of my water consumption.

Exercise: I started the morning with strength training before 6 AM. I don't know why I avoided in the past because I'm loving it. Thus far I've been primarily focused on my upper body, and I'm going to add in my lower body next week. Back to today -- I'm ending the day with a Zumba class, a double date with friends, and a walk with my husband.

Hi everyone. Good news is kidneys at 53%.

Tried polenta and zucchini lasagna- looked like vomit but tasted good mostly.

Itโ€™s really hard not being able to do exercise. Iโ€™m going crazy already.

    Hi,

I'm Cindy. I am 5'4" just turned 51. Have a wonderful husband of 27 years and a soon to be 19 year old daughter.

    Happy October!

September was a not so great month with a gain of 1.6 lbs. October will be better.

    July starting weight : 164.2
    October Starting weight : 158.2
    Goal : 154

October 1st : 158.2 - Made it to they gym after work!
    October 2nd: 158.6 :(
    October 3rd: 157.6
October 4th: 159.2 :( self sabotage? I ate a not so healthy big meal last night of something I had been craving. At least I worked out before I did it. I will be back at trying to eat healthy today. Its my first Friday off on my new work schedule!
October 5th 158.2  Didn't eat much yesterday. Had lots to do. Took our 3 horses to the vet. Everyone of them has some kind of problem. The two mares have lameness and the gelding is just old and hard to keep weight on. The good news, the two girls even though they are lame are clear to breed in the Spring. We have never had a filly or colt so it will be exciting.

Hi I'm Darlene. I am 64, married, (Greg - 37 years), one adult daughter (Allyson), one pup - Monty the Goldendoodle. I retired in 2020. My Story if you want to read:
I started my weight loss journey in January 2023. My husband went back to work on a temporary assignment and for the first time ever, I was alone during the day. I thought it was the perfect time for me to take care of me for a change. There is a rails to trails park literally in my backyard and for years I said I was going to walk the whole thing. I announced to the world that I was going to do it, and that made it so I couldn't back out. I started the journey on January 12, 2023 and did a little bit at a time; I completed the 62 mile in and out adventure on February 22, 2023 and lost 16 pounds in the process.

I found MFP and started logging my food, this kept me going for a little bit, but as usual was getting bored of it. I've lost weight many times before, and then I get bored, quit and gain it all back. I had to find something to keep me motivated to keep going. That's when I found the challenges page on MFP. This group was the first I found, and as I mentioned above holds a special place in my heart. Such a supportive group and in a non-judgemental way. I come back every month, for the support that this group provides. I also tried quite a few other challenges and especially like a couple team based ones (the Hogwarts and Biggest Loser). I found that I will do more for the "team" than I will do for myself; and if someone gives me a task to do, I'll do it. The more homework the better. These two groups have given me the accountability I need.

I am happy to say that with the help of these groups, I am just about at my goal weight and will call it accomplished when I get to 140 pounds. The last five pounds have been tough, and the last pound even tougher. It isnโ€™t the five pounds under the normal BMI, or the 100 pounds that I was thinking about, but by far surpasses what I thought at the beginning of my journey. I must admit, I am really nervous about making this decision. I know how to lose weight โ€“ but how to switch to maintaining is a mystery.

I am down almost 88 pounds. I have learned that persistance and not perfection is the key to my success. I won't change much - other than weighing in only two times a week instead of every day, and a weekly calorie goal instead of a daily one. If a little more comes off in the process that's great - but otherwise just stay 140 pounds or lighter for the rest of my life! Slow and steady wins the race!

We have had company all week. Our best friends moved to Florida a few years back, but their family lives in Connecticut. When they visit, they use our house as their lodging. The husband of the couple came up to visit family and friends this week. It has basically been a "boys" week; but the influences I have been at the upper limit of my calorie and sodium levels (going over on the sodium one day) which affects everything. He leaves tomorrow and things will get back to normal - hoping I'll get back down under that 140 mark by my next weigh in (Wednesday).

@ozdeelite Liking the improvement in your kidneys - hope it keeps going. Seems like a long way off to see the specialist but in the meantime just take care of yourself, eat right, try to enjoy your "down" time.

@cattherien Your love for your clients is just amazing. We are getting close to getting someone in for Greg's cousin once or twice a week - be there when she takes a shower, some company, take an overall health assessment etc. I may have to pick your brain to figure out how to find a good one.

@deepwoodslady Sending strength your way for the weekend of love! Sounds like progress is being made with the house. How is DGS doing with his arm? How long will he be in the cast?

    @lislisa123 Way to go girl!

@cinw1501 We all have those moments, the key is to just let it go. Don't let one meal turn into one day, turn into one week, turn into giving up. You've got this! How exciting, having a little one in the spring will be so fun.

@jennysweet58 Fanatastic way to get in your exercise. YOu should definitely be proud of yourself and way to go reaching that next decade!

@mistin123 Yes, I hate the time change. I am a early riser, and that is when I go for my morning walk (after I do my MFP thing), the sun doesn't rise until almost 7:00 now - an hour later than we like. So nope - can't give you anything postive - LOL!

@texasfarmer Nothing weight related - but are you truely a farmer? if so what kind of crops do you grow? Where are you going on vacation?

    @fazizze Love the accountability.

@Adahpotatah2024 We are just about the same weight! ๐Ÿ˜ My ultimate goal is 135 - what is your final weight goal?

To everyone else - hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I'm Charlene, 59 years old, 5'8", married 40 years to Allen, 6 adult children, 9 grandchildren. I have celiac disease so I eat gluten free; I'm intolerant to lactose, soy, watermelon, and cruciferous vegetables, and I have MTHFR reactions so I can't eat items fortified with folic acid; all these components make meals challenging! I usually do meal prepping at the beginning of every week. I live in Central Illinois USA, and I work part-time as a home caregiver for the elderly so they can live in their own homes and not have to live in a nursing home.

๐Ÿฅ›= I met my water goal
โœ๏ธ= I logged all my food
๐Ÿง‚= I stayed under my sodium limit
๐Ÿงฎ= I stayed under my calorie limit
    ๐Ÿ’Š= I took my supplements
๐Ÿฅ= Disc golf (golf, but with a Frisbee)
    ๐Ÿšถ= Steps (number)
    ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ= Exercise (stretch/strength/cardio)
๐Ÿ“š= I read for at least 30 minutes

    September ending weight: 181.8
    October goal weight: 178.0
    Maintenance goal weight: 160.0

    Oct 2: 180.9 ๐Ÿฅ›โœ๏ธ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿงฎ๐Ÿšถ(6827)
    Oct.3: 182.0 ๐Ÿฅ›โœ๏ธ _ ๐Ÿงฎ๐Ÿšถ(2725)
    Oct 4: 182.3 ๐Ÿฅ›โœ๏ธ _ ๐Ÿงฎ๐Ÿšถ(6375)
    Oct 5: 182.9 _ โœ๏ธ _ ๐Ÿงฎ๐Ÿšถ(3503)

Look at that weight increase. ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿง‚Salt is such a booger! 2800 mg yesterday; 2535mg the day before. Yes, I stayed within my calorie limit, but salty food choices, cheese especially in trying to help myself get enough protein, ughhh. Okay. Today I flush that out. I commit to getting enough fluids and staying within that sodium limit. No cheese today. I commit to posting my sodium count each day, maybe that will help with accountability. 2 pounds of water weight within 3 days, has gotta go! ๐Ÿšฝ

Look out, here comes a rant. ๐Ÿšจ
I will never, ever work in a nursing home; I'd rather work at Walmart, or a gas station, than work in one of those places. It isn't the patients, but the management, that drive me crazy. Those institutions are chronically under-staffed and rushed, especially on weekends. The food is always cold and unseasoned; no wonder patients lose weight at nursing homes, when the food is so unappetizing. The staff sometimes make obvious mistakes that endanger the health of a patient because of inattention to detail, because they're in a hurry. Oops? Don't give me oops! Did you even look at the patient's chart before doing what you did? Obviously not! Some nursing homes border on negligence; but when there aren't rooms available for a patient at a better institution elsewhere, you don't have a choice where they end up, because the hospital is pushing the patient out, whether you are ready or not. I've had to learn the hard way that the only wheels that get greased are the very, very persistent and insistent ones; but honest to God, it should not take you 45 minutes to reheat my loved one's dinner! It is a terrible thing to see a patient slowly wither, physically and psychologically, week after week, because they're trying not to make waves. They tell you things that happen, or didn't happen, while you're gone; but then when you try to do something about it, the patient will say something like, "Don't bug the nurses, it's fine". Well, it isn't fine. The patients themselves are well aware that their own care at the institution is subpar; and they are vulnerable and helpless to fix it. This leads to anxiety and depression, which retards healing because the cortisol level in their body is so persistently high. No wonder they want to go home! I would, too.
Okay, rant off. ๐Ÿ›‘ I'm still huffy๐Ÿคฌ but I've said more than enough.

@ilive2walk I did see your comment and feel free to message me.

Diet: Greek hit hard last night, and the overnight bloat proves it. I don't know if it's fully from the dolmades or also from the increase in weights from yesterday. Regardless, I'm back on track for today without any guilt.

Exercise: Nothing major planned for today other than a long walk this evening. I am definitely feeling the workouts from yesterday!

@iLive2Walk My DGS will go back to the special children's hospital on Oct 23rd for an Xray and if it looks good, it will be taken off on that day. If not....well he'll be sent home with his blue cast still on. He's taking it like a champ. Thanks for asking.

10/04-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- Itโ€™s no-weigh Friday for me. I was up extra early as the bus for DGS comes even earlier than last year. Missed the bus at the beginning of the year so I am trying to readjust schedule. Boy is it ever tough trying to get long sleeves and jackets on him with that cast on his arm! This cooler weather is calling for warmer clothing for sure. Last Friday my DD brought in ice cream since it was payday. I hope she will keep her money in her pocket this week. Itโ€™s not likely though. Trying to stay strong! Have a good weekend everyone!

10/05-193.6-(Trend Weight 193.6)- Wow what a busy Saturday! I didnโ€™t get a chance to post until now but I did remember to weigh in this morning which showed me a smidgen up. I traveled out of town today with my 5 yr old and 6 yr old DGSโ€™s to see Wild Robot at the movies. It was a very good movie and the boys really enjoyed it. They are cousins and itโ€™s always nice when they can spend some time together as they live in two different counties. Breakfast was at home and simple. Linner was out and above my normal limits. I expect the scale will be up tomorrow from fluid and extra calories too.

135 is a good goal! I'm okay with my weight now, really, but I'd like to lose an inch or so off my waist if I can.

I love the start of a new month, the optimism that it brings, leaving those negative thoughts behind, reflecting on my prior months accomplishments, a fresh start, a clean slate. And fall is my favorite time of year - a slight chill in the air - the beautiful fall colors on the trees in Connecticut, no bugs. Happy Otober - a special welcome to all our new people - I hope you love this group as much as I do, and for all the returning members - so glad to see you back for another month.
