Hi everyone my mane is justin I'm a 51yr old man from Sheffield UK living in Liverpool
I'm at a bit of a crossroads fitness wise and I'm at that frustrating phase where I feel like I'm getting nowhere even though I feel physically and mentally much better than I have in years and I could do with some advice
To explain I lost 17 kg from dieting, mostly from intermittent fasting and have cut out sugar and alcohol
Once my weight had dropped from 95 kg to 78 i started to try and improve my fitness as I have many times before I did the couch to 5k running app ( I'm on wk 7 now 25 min runs) and three weight sessions in the gym
I have to get up at 5am to do this which mead I get exactly 7 hrs sleep
So in the last 7 weeks although I feel better adcan see some muscle growth my aim of reducing body fat and gaining muscle mass hasn't been achieved at all
I've seen no shift on my body Composition scales in those 7 weeks
Now I'm a little bit worried I'm just going to burn out and regress as I'm over doing it or wondering if I should focus simply on one or the other
The running or the gym
My diet is good
I hit 220 grams of protein low sugar high fiber no processed foods
I relied on the scales to get me through the weight loss but they are now a source of frustration as I can visibly see as difference and physically and mentally feel a huge improvement but the data doesn't back that up and I'm concerned I'm heading for failure

Those body composition scales are notoriously unreliable. Please don't let them derail you - I made that mistake once too.
Pprogress pictures, measurements, how clothes fit - use those as your tools and take your body composition scales very a very large grain of salt!1 -
