I am 230, and trying to get to a goal weight of 160 by my birthday next year. And keep it that way! I lost 100 pounds in 2004, and was unable to keep from ballooning it all back on. I find that I am able to feel better not restricting calories, but making the most of them.
I used to be under another alias here, but it seems that all my friends disappeared, or my account was reset, or whatever happened. I know I was locked out by someone that changed my password every time I tried to login. It was frustrating. I will keep on my current plan, regular eating, but I will not be obsessive about calories counting. It's like I am working on 2004 again. Being 47, I look back on it, and I ask myself... what happened to your goal of being in a triathlon?
It is the goal. My only goal. That and working on chess. I am going to work on that for the next year. That and reading a lot of fiction, so I can start writing again. That reminds me I need to write in my journal.
Finally, I am requesting as many friends as possible. I find camaraderie is a wonderful thing, and it's fun!
I will be returning to school in January. I am on study.com, and when I finish my courses (30 left - 70 total - trying to get three degrees at once - I am a brainiac!), I will have general computer science, cybersecurity, and computer programming. I am making sure all these tie together, when I go back to work.
Yes, I am a bit weird, but I am a good person to be around. And yes, I write a lot.
Onward, and making sure we go downward, weight wise!

Cool! I need to figure out what to do. Thank you for the 'Most helpful' posts! Got to start doing what I need to. Tracking is important, and everything. But I miss talking to everyone! I'll read the three. Thank you!0

MFP said that the usage was too low for the amount of effort it took to keep it limping along, because it was very old architecture and old code. Many users have criticized that decision.
Whether you agree with their decision or not, as an IT guy, I'm guessing you have a better than average understanding of that type of issue. (FWIW, I'm a retired IT gal. My late husband was a competitive chess player, so I understand a little about that world, too . . . but was never in it myself.)
IMO, there are still good resources here in the Community for meeting people and getting support, and those can often be found by reading posts in these parts of the Community:

Best wishes for success!0
