Accountability in tracking calories

Hey everyone! Existing member here but first time I've really started using the app properly.
Anyone new to tracking calories and macro's and been doing it for a little while and noticing a difference? I've been using for a couple weeks and already lost 1.7kgs. I've found this app to be really helpful when it comes to holding myself accountable when it comes to temptations etc, and also how much the little things like sauce and butter can impact your macroes. Water intake has gone through the roof and starting to feel noticeably different already just by maintaining a good healthy balanced diet!
I hope there's some other people out there that are enjoying it as much as me. Give me a shout if you want a friend to help motivate you along your journey!
Hope everyone's having an awesome start to their week! Only 7 more weeks until Christmas 🎄 🙌

Hello, and welcome to the Community part of MFP!
I'm glad the app is working well for you.
In my case, I think "enjoyment" would be kind of a strong term at this point , but I do appreciate the app big time. The things you mention are some of the reasons.
The big difference between us is that I've been using MFP for over 9 years now, logging most days during that whole time. That was just under a year to lose 50ish pounds (class 1 obese to a healthy weight), and 8 years of maintaining a healthy weight since. Being at a healthy weight has been a huge quality of life improvement for me. Not everyone wants to (or needs to) keep logging long term, but for me it's a convenient, low-stress way to keep my weight in a healthy range.
Noticing that you'd not gotten a reply to your intro post yet, I wanted to greet you and wish you success: The results are very much worth the effort!1 -
I totally hear you about the water intake and the app addressing any problem areas through their nutrients breakdown. I am a starting-over college student who couldn't use the app for years because it wasn't supported on my smartphone. I'm so happy it's supported now . Second-time college freshman.0
