Greetings from Texas:) I joined myfitnesspal 52 days ago and so far I've lost 12 lbs. It's been slow but a sure process. I'll be looking for success stories to keep me motivated:)

Welcome!
I wouldn't call losing over a pound and a half a week "slow", honestly. For a lot of people, that's perfect, maybe even a little aggressive, depending on how much we need to lose in total. You're right that slow and steady wins this particular race!
I used MFP to lose 50-ish pounds over 8 years ago (at age 59-60, while severely hypothyroid (medicated for that)), and to stay at a healthy weight since, now age 68.

Don't be surprised if you open those and see old posts (some so old that photos no longer exist!). They're still very active, with newest posts on the high-numbered pages at the end. You can jump straight to the end using the number/arrow links at the bottom of each page if you want to. When I first started, I gradually worked my way through each of those threads, start to end, when I had time. It was really encouraging.
