Wrong side of 45 with big ideas, wobbly gut and determination

Hey, I'm Jay from the UK and just starting to get a good run going keeping track of my food while forming some big plans of things to achieve. Been logging now for 18 days straight and dropped just over 5lbs but plenty left to go.

I'm a lively chap, with big ideas and plans on how to achieve them, A few years ago, I cycled from the west coast to the east coast of the UK over two days and now I have set my sights on going from the southernmost tip at Land's End to the Northernmost at John O'Groats in two years time. This means shedding weight, building my cardio, building my strength and getting in the best shape of my life. I've just spent the money building my own custom road bike ready to start building up the miles in training to go alongside my custom built mountain bike I made a few years ago.

The added benefit of all this is that it'll help me improve at snowboarding, my other big passion as I'll be carrying less weight, have stronger leg muscles and far more stamina to take on full day sessions abroad in the Alps

To get to my target weight of 15stone (I'm built like a brick wall so anything less than that with my frame size and building enough muscle to look balanced, I'll look ill) is going to take a drop of a further 26lbs, at which point my focus will switch to losing fat rather than weight, with a target of about 15-20%

So, if anyone wants to join me on my journey, help keep me focused or even wants to form a "real world friendship" and tackle this challenge with me, then please, feel free to drop me a friend request and we'll push each other to be the best version of ourselves we can be
