Remember I told you that I told Vince that since Yoda is getting chunky, they only need moist food twice a day and he was very insistent that they need the moisture and should get the moist food three times/day. Well, Jess told him they only need it twice/day. Since she's a vet, guess what's happening? Do I know anything? No!

    Happy New Year!

    Well, off to my walk

I wish dh would listen to someone about the cats. I feed them canned/moist food morning and night. If he walks in the bedroom or kitchen(two of the places we feed)they all act like they are starving so he gives them more. There is dry food if they are hungry.
Just got another order from Chewy- we went through the whole order from a few weeks ago. We go through a minimum of 11 cans a day- I am sure it is more because of the extra feedings, including the strays out front that I had forgotten about- 10 cans that I put out each day plus what ever he puts out.
He needs to keep working part time, just to feed and do litter box stuff for the cats!

Carol, I Just read what happened, and you are correct; if he were at home, the results would not have been good. It happened so fast. I hope DH has a speedy recovery and takes it easy—hugs to you.

Carol: Oh my! My thoughts and prayers for your DH and for you. I hope your DH's recovery goes well.

Heather: Happy New Year! Everything I know about Singapore is from Crazy Rich Asians. The picture of the pool looks inviting!

Lisa: i absolutely agree! It is all about systems! And priorities. I am finding I want to clean the house first thing in the morning instead of exercise. For years I exercised. I feel so much better knowing I have worked on my home!

Ginny: I have only walked abour 4x this month. The Dutchman State Park sounds like fun! I need to use my blue tooth headphones more when I walk.

Machka: Truly you and your husband live in a beautiful place! I hope to read more non-fiction this year!

    Heidi: Welcome!

Rebecca: I admire your goal of going to the gym. I find it time consuming and have drifted away from the gym! Maybe if I had a particular exercise class I planned to take!

RVRita: Hope all goes well with the therapist and kidney doctor!

Tracey: Wonderful that the girls are doing so well and the family!

Rori: Glad your left foot is healing!

    Kylia: The cookies sound delicious!

Barbie: I have done similar. I have metal shelves where I put the dry goods. I seldom use my cabinets.

Michele: Your experience at CVS reminded me of my experience today. I needed to put a new SIM card into my phone. I did look at a utube video on this and yes I could do it....but I have other tasks that are a bigger priority. So I went to the Verizon store. The Customer Rep there was abrasive and judgmental and close to rude. i stayed quiet and calm. I even thought to myself, she really is a pretty lady and also I like her nails. But she remained abrasive. i had my credit card out to pay the store. And in the last 30 seconds, she told me to put the credit card away. I wished her Happy New Year and she wished me Happy New Year back. A little twist there that I didn't expect!

Grandmallie: Dehlia and Miles are happy children! They are a delight!

    Terri: Enjoy your granddaughter!

Dr. Katiebug: I hate filing! I hope your surgery goes well!

Tina: Sounds like 2025 will be a wonderful travel year!

Well I will be going to sleep in 90 minutes! Happy New Year to each and everyone of you! I have enjoyed reading your 2024 posts and look forward to 2025.

Cas from Clutterbug had a guest on who talked about having a North Star. My North Star this year will be knitting and writing! I hope for 3 days a week in the house.

I plan to have the organizer back a couple of more times to declutter and embrace minimalism. Much has been decluttered in 2024.

I have a couple of more episodes of A Gentleman in Moscow to watch and did read the book and have enjoyed the tv adaption.
I canceled some life insurance I no longer need and didn't want to pay the premium. Well...surprise..it had a little cash value! Not much...but enough to remove the Acorn stair lyft from the stairs, put hardwood stairs in I hope and have a carpet runner. I am waiting on a
quote. So a little end of year/start of year home project that I did not expect! The stair lyft is bolted into the carpet, so I have to do something to replace the carpet if I want to remove the stair lyft. I would never use the stair lyft by myself in the
    home. I would move.

    Happy New Year!
    Rosemarie from GA

I figure its only an hour or two out of my day. Husband is usually already back by the time I get up. So either I be a slug and sleep, or I gotta he up early to go with him. He says he doesn't have a lot of fun going but he says he has to do it. So both of us are swallowing that sour pill and attending. It does make me feel better.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
    • Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be more than
2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
    • A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
    • Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
    • The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
    • Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
    • The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
    • When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
    • Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!
