Did HIIT then went in the pool. I cut my workouts short since it still takes me a while to get around. After the Y went to Food Lion since Vince needed soda. I need to go to the FL by me since that one didn’t have the crab that I wanted (BOGO)

Went for my shot of Prolia. Tomorrow is the dermatologist

Jennifer CT – praying for you not to have the C. Good for you not using food to cope!

Tracey – I’m in awe of the beauty of your cards. What kind of items do they give you to get your mom? Toiletries?

Jess called just as I was leaving for the hosp for my Prolia so she talked to Vince. She’s going to be bringing the animals here. I know Vince isn’t keen on ganon being here, but my heart just wouldn’t let me say “no” to my daughter. Plus, it won’t be for that long

Heather – yea for walking! I’m going stir crazy not being able to walk around the block. Hopefully, pretty soon

As I was about to get in the pool at the Y today, I went to show someone where the foreign object was in my foot, and the pad the podiatrist put on it had come off! He was quite insistent that I take it off after 24 hours so I called his office to see if it was OK since it had been on only 7-10 hours. I have no idea when it came off. They told me just to put the bandaid on it and take it off tonight. Hope this doesn’t hinder it getting better. I really really want to walk down in FL, it’s just so nice.

Went to Sam’s and got pigs in the blanket for me to take to the ceramic Christmas party for Vince in addition to the sausage cheese balls I was going to make. Hmmmm….maybe I won’t make them and just freeze the sausage.

Lisa – lovely afghan. Is that the C2C stitch?

Margaret – those trees are really different. I like them very much

Tere – the landscaper just recently planted the azalea. I usually watered new plants once/day for a week then every other day then a few times a week. Only I’m not doing that because it’s so cold, I’m afraid the water would freeze (like me….lol)

Rebecca – sounds like you had such a wonderful trip plus coming home. So glad the inspection went well

Lanette – when we’re in FL, you look out our backyard and you’re looking at the VAB, so we get to see a lot of launches. The pediatrist did mention something about this cork the you can put around a certain area to cushion it. When I go back in 2 weeks, I’m going to mention it because I DO NOT want this to come back. I want to be able to take walks when we’re in FL

Debbie – I like to sit with just the tree on sipping tea, too. And watching TV (usually Christmas movies)

Bowling tonight. I won’t be bowling, but I’ll go for support.

    Stat for the day-

    Walk w/family- 1hr 44min 58sec, 60elev, 3.05ap, 83ahr, 100mhr, 12762steps, 5.46mi= 525c
    Strava app= 662c

We have decided to cut our bed down to a queen (bed in trailer is currently a king). This will give us more room on either side to walk and get in. Rv place we bought it from say they do it all the time for someone who would rather have more room. Kirby researched on utube andgot what we needed and he’s gonna do it. We currently have a queen at home with yogi on it and we are fine so we won’t miss it.

It doesn't hurt but its weird colors. Nor is it swollen. Dang train! It was interesting traveling this time because people help you when you're old looking. I mean the bus driver took my bag to put in the undercarriage instead of just pointing where I needed to put it. Then on the train the train staff let me walk up the steps with my carry on, and then handed me my suitcase. When I was looking for a seat a gentleman in his 30's asked if I needed to put it in the overhead luggage rack. He said his Mom would've swatted him, if he didn't help me. So there's that. I must have "old lady" written above my head. Anyways it was nice. The train ticket guy helped me down the steps, and taking my suitcase so I wouldn't have to lug it down the steps. The train steps off and on an Amtrak train are steep, and not very wide. Its really easy to misstep.

As promised, more details about my Thailand adventure. Put in spoiler, so feel free to skip if not interested.
I’m back and none the worse for wear after 20 hours of flying and a 12 hour layover in Hong Kong. I used the app Timeshifter to minimize jet lag and even though I couldn’t adhere to the exact times for light, sleep and caffeine, it still worked.
This was my first trip to Asia, and given that I have 4 more continents to go in my quest to visit each continent, there is no telling if/when I will ever get back there. Phuket Thailand has everything I love about a holiday:
    1) Delicious fresh food, especially tropical fruits and fish. Best curry!
    2) Warm weather, even when raining which happened for 3 of our days there.
    3) Friendly people who smile a lot and make every attempt to communicate in English.
    4) Beautiful beaches safe for swimming and snorkeling. And the snorkeling was extraordinary. Clear water, tame fish, colorful corals…truly the highlight of the trip for me.
    5) Cheap, excellent massage services. I had two 90 minute full body massages for about $8 USD each.
    6) Fun, interesting stuff to do.
    * We took a cooking class where we made green papaya salad and massaman curry.
    * Visited a sanctuary for rescued elephants where we fed them and walked them through the jungle. One of the elephants was 62!
    * We had a guided tour of a Chinese temple, a local night market and Old Phuket town. Learned history of the area.
    * Visited an isolated beach on a Thai longboat. These are wooden boats with a car motor attached to the back and a long rudder tail trailing behind it. Due to a government ban on harvesting forest timbers, these boats are no longer being built.
    * The Phi Phi islands are a paradise. If you watch the next season of the show “White Lotus”, it will feature the island of Koh Samui. Gorrrrrgeous! Also saw the site where the movie The Beach was filmed.

    * We saw the “Lady Boys” cabaret show. Brilliant!

My travel companion has very special dietary restrictions and allergies and I was nervous about her accidentally ingesting something that might make her ill, but fortunately, it was all good. At the night market, the food offerings ranged from the very popular chicken satay, to sushi, fruits with chili (yummo. Heather I thought of you), fresh squeezed juices, meats on a stick, coconut pancakes, a jet black gelatin like drink made from a root, and fried insects (no, I wasn’t that brave). I did test out the Fish Spa. Put my feet in a tank of little guppie-like fish who went to work eating the dead skin off them. I’m not normally ticklish, but my friend caught video of me squealing as the fish started their gentle pecking. BTW, the results were excellent. After 15 mins and a whopping $3 USD, my feet were as smooth as what I get from a professional pedicure.

Getting to Thailand from Colorado is arduous but worth it. The Thai massages were part of my self care routine which also included using the gym to stretch and swimming laps in the pools to work off a few calories. Took advantage of the resort’s yoga on the beach a couple of times. On boating excursions, going up and down ladders as the boat rocked back and forth tested my balance and strength. Walking elephants through a humid jungle was exhausting. But I did it! Didn’t embarrass or hurt myself, yay!

So here are a few of my favorite photos. Enjoy.

I still need to figure what to do on top of the bookshelf, but I got a lot done. I turned them around like they do on HGTV. How do you know what to read with it turned around?

Rori, glad you had a great experience in Thailand! I met my husbands ship there eons ago, and was at Phuket as well. I did the topless beach thing, but I don't think any of the other Navy wives did that.😂. I had a massage on the edge of the beach by a little old lady. As I laid there, she adjusted my hip, making it pop, some strange dude walking by said, "good one"! She massaged my back with Tiger Balm and a wee bit of sand on her fingers. After lying out in the sun, then getting her massage, my skin literally felt on fire. But you know what? All the other Navy wives were sunburned and peeling, on the trip home, but not me.😁. Great memories!
