Hello, and welcome!
You don't say what your age is, but I have to say that people succeed here at any and all ages, up to including 70s and perhaps even 80s. I lost from class 1 obese to a healthy weight at 59-60, am still at a healthy weight now, age 69. Not only was it possible, it was easier than I'd expected . . . since many people will say that things like age, menopause, hypothyroidism, arthritis, blah blah blah, are weight loss doom. (I had all of those to some extent . . . well, maybe not all the blah blah blah).
If a hedonistic aging hippie flake with a low willpower/discipline budget like me can do this, I think most grown-ups can, if they commit to chipping away toward the goal. My biggest advice is always to make a personalized plan that is as easy as you can make it for you.
That approach makes motivation and discipline relatively less important. I don't know about you, but I can't maintain "motivation" for the rest of my natural life, but I do want to stay at a healthy weight for that long. That puts a premium on finding relatively pleasant (at least tolerable/practical) new routine habits than can continue almost on autopilot when other parts of life get challenging (because they will).
Lots of people seem to get here with a "lose weight fast" mindset; adopt some kind of difficult and restrictive eating routine; then stack punitively intense unpleasant daily exercise on top of that. I think that's hard to sustain long enough to lose a meaningful total amount of weight, and doesn't much help with finding those new long-term healthy habits. There are also a lot of "I'm back after loss and regain" posts here. Not sure, can't prove it, but there might be a relationship between those two things.
Regardless of what you decide, I'm wishing you success: From experience, the results and rewards are worth the effort!
