I skipped the movie theater popcorn yesterday. I really wrestled with the decision while waiting on line but once I got past the concession I was fine.
Movie theater popcorn always gets me too. They should really sell bags of SmartPop or Lesser Evil. Even if they upsold them I would buy that!

BackstoryIn 2022 I was around 157lbs with 24% bf. Was definitely in the “best shape” of my adult life then. Since then I started a new career working from home as a developer. Have moved away from my family for fiancés job. We’ve moved several times to various states in the short time span. Welcomed two puppies into the mix. Lots of changes. Lots of time spent at home. Lots of time spent away from family. Fell out of touch with friends. All of the adjustments and figuring out how to manage/handle more daily responsibilities and navigate through this phase of life has manifested into me gaining 20ish lbs and losing a lot of willpower, motivation, drive, positivity, etc that I once thrived on. Found this challenge and it has been helping me get it back. Nothing is permanent! Looking forward to working through this.
Overall Goals and ChallengesGoals
1. Focusing on behavior and mindset. Calories have been going way over for so long I need to reel the behavior back in a healthy way.
2. Don’t give up on the day when it’s challenging. Choose to make good decisions in those moments instead of giving in.
Challenges
1. Working from home makes it easy to stress eat or just eat out of boredom/habit.
2. Sleeping less (have two puppies, a 7mo and a 11mo old) makes it hard to wake up early enough to get a good workout in or at least to feel good awaking up. Feel defeated in the motivation and drive department compared to how I was previously.
Daily, Small, Attainable Goals1. Finish 1st 27oz water before 2pm
2. Finish 2nd 27oz water before bed
3. Alternate standing and sitting at desk every other hour during working hours.
4. Hit maintenance calories.

Puppy had another bad night. We were up every hour and a half taking him outside for emergencies. Thinking something he ate in the snow is not doing him any favors. There are a lot of dogs in our complex sharing the grass and puppy has something in his mouth every 2 seconds, ie mulch, sticks, snow, leaves, literally anything. Very hard to prevent / keep up with. I made coffee once the sun started coming up and forgot to weigh before I drank it. Just hoping this isn’t a thing that runs into Christmas. 😴🎄
Also not sure if I will make it to the gym because of this so if that is the case I need to do my best to reduce my calories. Striving for maintenance 💆🏻♀️🧘🏻♀️2 -

ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND 190.6
12/22-193.0-(Trend Weight: 192.2)- Lots of fun at the birthday party for my DGS’s 9th birthday. He is the one who is also on the autism spectrum and I was so thrilled to see so many children and their parents there. Socialization is so hard for many with autism. I went through this with my son who is also on the spectrum. There was pizza, cheese bread, cake & ice cream and all the fixings. I managed to keep portions to a “not bad” level. However, I got super hungry at 1:00 in the morning and ended up eating a large bowl of soup with about 12 round crackers. That didn’t help the scale this morning. I’m hoping tomorrow will show I’ve flushed all the sodium and that my weight is in check. I don’t expect progress after all that, but if I can be back to 190 point anything like yesterday, I will take it as a win. I don’t want to spend this entire round chasing my tail. This is going to be the hardest round of 2024 due to the holidays and traditions (did someone say cookies and fudge?) Good luck to you all this round. I am cheering you on. Know that you all inspire me to be a better version of me and I am grateful.

Several years back, I did a 5K for autism because my friend's granddaughter has autism. Before doing the run, I knew nothing of the condition. After the race, we all went to my friend's daughter's house, and when I sat on the floor, the little girl with autism sat on my lap and started chatting with me. I thought nothing of it, but when I looked-up, my friend and her daughter were both crying.2 -

I joined this group in Rnd 245 on Dec 18 2023, when I realized I was eating my way through the holidays; I finally got on the scale and was hovering just under 150 lbs. It took about 4 months to reach my goal weight of 125. Sounds great, but I’ve done this before, which is why I’m still here.
It’s not just about losing, it’s about changing the habits of a lifetime that keep me stuck in self-defeating cycles with food.

ROUND 282
12/22 – 133.5
UGH! – The best laid plans go awry! Yesterday started off just fine then I stopped by to get tire air pressure checked at the tire store. “Oh, ma’am, you may have a leak”. This led to a series of mishaps, broken wheel stud, stud head got loose in wheel, the most awful noise, etc., which took all afternoon to be rescued and deal with, plus I’m out a car. I missed my whole afternoon and did not handle the party as planned. I ended up eating too much, had two glasses (small) of wine, though I did have a good time. My weight sadly reflects the damage of sausage balls and cookies, wiping out the progress of the last round. Really, I didn’t have to fall apart. It was just an inconvenience that I let get into my head. And there was no leak in the tire!
Today is a new day. I’m off to choir and church. It always grounds me and reminds me of what is important. Plus today is the Christmas pageant, a chaotic treat.

I am traveling starting the 27th. I will still check in and report that I am logging, but I won't be weighing. My mini goal while I am away is to keep logging while I am gone. Doing OK. Managed for the past few days to eat more without going overboard.

@deepwoodslady Several years back, I did a 5K for autism because my friend's granddaughter has autism. Before doing the run, I knew nothing of the condition. After the race, we all went to my friend's daughter's house, and when I sat on the floor, the little girl with autism sat on my lap and started chatting with me. I thought nothing of it, but when I looked-up, my friend and her daughter were both crying.
@capewrathultra How heartwarming. You were part of a breakthrough and likely a rare moment. Clearly she knew you were on her side! How beautiful!

It usually takes a few good days to recover from 1 bad day, but you'll do it.1 -

Newbie here. I'm in!
Going on 56 years old- My goal is to make healthier choices, lose weight and create better eating habits.
I am 5'9 and I have been gaining and losing the same 15 to 20 pounds for the last 10 years.
I think I have finally learned that I have to change my behavior in order to lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way. I think daily weigh ins will keep me focused and help hold me accountable for my choices.
