Mid-Fifties Gotta Get In Shape

Hi! I’m a man in my mid-fifties. Pretty overweight. Used to workout a ton and followed a paleo-ish diet with an intermittent fasting type method. Did great. Lost 50 pounds in about 4 months. But that was 6 years ago. Since then, I fell off the wagon. Started drinking daily. Gained all my weight back and then some. Too much stress in my life. Divorce, moved to a new place, etc.

Surprisingly, I got remarried. My wife is much younger than me and together, we had two boys. Ages 3 and 1 now. My son from my previous marriage is 19 now. He’s going through a lot. As their dad, I’d like to be around for a long time. I want to be there for them - all of them. Not to mention, I want to be around for my wife too.

Anyway… I’m just starting this thread to keep myself accountable. Journaling my thoughts. Updating anyone who may be interested in my progress and the things I’m trying to do to get back in shape.

Maybe share each other’s experiences.
