Happy New Year!
@enlightenme3 is still traveling, so I'm posting this month's challenge again.
π Welcome all new first timers to this challenge and "Hello again" to those returning for another month, another year, another round. π
I joined MFP in February 2018. I had been trying on and off to lose some extra weight. MFP gave me the tools I needed to lose 30 pounds, and I have tried to keep it off since then. I've mostly been successful, but there for sure have been times when I slid back. Only continued vigilance will work to be successful, and fortunately that's possible! It can be nice to have short- and medium-term goal to break down a larger goal into more manageable chunks. So a monthly challenge with a weekly check-in is GREAT. I've been contributing to this challenge for several years, and with @enlightenme3 temporarily away, I'll try to keep it running.
Pick your own goal, check in once per week, and at the very end of the month. Let's keep encouraging each other & staying focused on our individual goals.
You can change the dates to suit you, but try to keep it weekly as it shows off the weekly progress betterπ. I'm setting this month up for Saturday check-in. Do what works best for YOU.
Pick whatever unit suits you -- pounds, kilograms, stones, or even Newtons.
Feel free to copy & paste the chart:

For those unsure how to do your weekly weight input:
When you want to do your weekly update do a search for your original post, copy and paste as a new post in the add post box then you can edit in your new weekly weight. A lot of people also maintain their post in a notes application on their device and just cut and paste into a new post.
Itβs not a race go at your on pace, imagine where you could be in 6 months time!π
Best of luck to everyone - have fun! ππ

Hello, I'm new here. Not sure how this community stuff works. I lost 60 lbs in 5 months with another app with an online coach but their price more than doubled so I had to quit them.1

I'm 73 with a couple of health issues. I've been a member of MFP for several years. I have posted some, but mostly lurk in the background. I've missed a couple of months of this challenge and it shows on the scale! Rough total of what I have lost since joining MFP is about 50 lbs. Still 30+ to go.

I have lost 47 lbs over the past two years and my goal weight is now within reach. I hope to achieve that goal maybe around July with one pound a week of wt loss. A combination of low carb no sugar eating, fasting, and walking is what works for me. Have a great start to the New Year and let's lose some lbs.

Thank you, @mtaratoot !
I'm Chris - 74 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
My husband and I are retired.
I see my trainer for 60 mins three days a week and try to walk the other four days. The walking doesn't always work out since we have our Grandson every morning. He's 2 years old and a pistol!!

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am 38 years old. I am from Canada and have struggled all my life with my weight.
I lost 125 pounds on my own in the past but bad habits caused me to gain 91 of those pounds back. Since the regain, Iβve noticed how hard this has been on my body. My goal is to try my hardest to get those pounds back off and keep them off!

I have been absolutely rough on my body lately. Heavily drinking. No working out. Eating way too much of all the bad stuff. I lost 20 pounds a few months ago and gained 15 back over a month and half of time. I let the excuse of stress bring me to my lowest I have been in a long long long time. No more! I realize my goal list for this month looks extreme, but I just have to jump right in. these things were a normal for me until I went off the deep end because of excuses.

@clomonaco3
Welcome!
Take some time and poke around the community. Look especially at some of the "most helpful posts" in each of the categories. Then sit back and make sure that two pounds a week is a reasonable goal. It might be if you have 75 pounds to lose. It's generally recommended to stick to a MAXIMUM of 1% of your weight per week. Here's a little graphic from one of those "most helpful posts" that outlines some guidelines for goal setting.
Then as you work towards your goals, give yourself some grace on days/weeks things don't go as planned. The most important thing you can do is stick to it!3 -
I'm back this month. Get 2025 off on the right foot. I'm going to weigh-in on Mondays, so I know how much work I have ahead of me each week. It usually sets the tone for my determination for the week. This month might be a little hard simply because I have a my 50th birthday party this month, but one day shouldn't kill the month.

First time posting in mfp communities and first time joining a challenge! Have used mfp successfully in the past but desperately need some accountability. Currently 15wks postpartum with a beautiful baby girl and it's time to get my health/weight back on track after pregnancy and a couple of years of not looking after myself properly before that.
