UK based - New but been here before

Hi, I've recently come back to mfp as I need to focus and really improve my diet and lose some weight.

I have lots of health issues and I'm pretty sure the excess weight doesn't help. I have Chiari malformation, COPD and lots of things going on with my spine!

I'm an ex fitness instructor and PT, I run a circus school and an also an ex performer but currently I'm not capable of much. I really want that to change and although I don't expect to ever be at a high level again, I want to be able to get enjoyment from dance and flowing on the apparatus again

I'm looking for friends to add for support and motivation if anyone is willing.

Wow, feel your pain. A little, anyway. I did my first amateur power-lifting comp this year, (63yoF) then got diagnosed with an intra-atrial cardiac tumour through a routine scan. First advice was you will need open heart surgery, but after many different types of scans, to now let’s monitor with an annual cardiac MRI.

So, no real training for 4 months, now getting sciatic type pains which are pretty horrible and limiting even more. All my strength gains have decreased, and I wonder if they will return. My trainer says yes, and I still show up to PT and do what I can.

Of course this has all impacted on weight gain and muscle loss. I am an expert MFP tracker, so have been doing that for last 2 days and feel like I am in right direction. I want to feel badass again, not like an old girl.

I am happy to be a support, and looking for support as well. I am Aussie based however.

It absolutely sucks not being able to do things I used to find easy!

But I am determined to not give up. Training and particularly dance and flow make me feel like me so I'm definitely very 'lost' at the minute and trying to figure myself out now!

I will work out how to add you. :)
