I've been using the app for a long time, but I've never ventured into this area. My problem is overeating. I'm like shrew, I can eat at least three times my own weight. My other problem is that I don't like going to the gym. I'm aware of eating healthy and I understand why going to the gym would help with weight management, especially losing weight. But I hate it.I prefer walking and cycling. It's not difficult to go for a walk for an hour or two, preferably in the forest. But muscle fitness, oh well...I speak in meters and kilograms. I measure temperature in degrees Celsius. I am Finnish...sisua perkele...It can be found. My situation is that I weigh more than I did when I was expecting my baby. My height is way too low for my weight. And I'm getting old really fast. As a nurse, I know that with this combination It's only a matter of time before I get diabetes, hypertension, or something else equally unpleasant. Luckily, I have a lot of good things in my life: my family, my dog (Aussie), and good friends. I've now decided to focus on my well-being. I've lost weight many times in completely stupid ways that have messed up my metabolism. Now I'm paying for these mistakes. I'm not trying to get by on low calories, I've figured out how much I need to eat and I eat that much. I've always skimped on calories before and then I've After a couple of weeks I've been eating more and more to satisfy my hunger. I have also denied myself foods with the idea that they are bad. And thus given them more importance than necessary. Usually it has only created a greater desire to eat these foods. So now I'm starting with a weight of 84.3 kg and aiming for 63 kg, which is more suitable for my height of 159 cm. I hope to find support and new friends here.Sorry for my English, I use a translator and they are not always completely accurate.

I am sure the other regular forum folks will be along shortly with their pearls of wisdom and helpful links, but rest assured you absolutely don’t need to ‘go to the gym’ if you don’t want to (I don’t like the gym either!).
You can lose weight successfully just by walking and cycling (as many others here will testify to), as all physical activity will help burn off a few calories - but the real key to losing weight is to eat in a deficit. If you have set up MFP with your weight, height and a sensible rate of loss (half to one pound per week), you can eat the foods you enjoy (just a bit less of them), and you can hopefully avoid the sense of deprivation that leads to overeating. Slow and steady is the best way to achieve your goal.
Read some of the ‘Success Stories’ for inspiration and new ideas… share your own tips with others as you learn what works. Welcome to the MFP community!
