    I’ll get us started 😊

I’m Victoria, I’m actually an old dog on MFP started way back in 2010. In 2011, I was actually a success story and lost over 30 lbs dropping from 156 to 123. I successfully kept the weight off until 2016 when I had my last baby.

My biggest fear in getting pregnant again had been around being able to lose weight since I knew how hard it was to do and worked to be at my goal weight. Unfortunately, I didn’t bounce back and have spent the last 8 years being unsuccessful. My heaviest (non-pregnant) weight on record was on 4/1/24 when I weighed in at 178 lbs. At 5’2, that put me well into the obese category.

I’ve been committed to getting back to a healthy weight and have been actively on track since Jan.10th (172.6 lbs). I’ve started taking better care of myself, overhauled my diet, and added in daily exercise. Since January, I’ve lost 17 lbs, but still have another 20 to go before I’m considered to have a healthy BMI.

I’m having major surgery next week (with a long recovery) and I’m worried how that will impact my progress, but I’ll be tracking the changes along the way.

    Hi Victoria @newmeat30,

Thanks for starting this challenge - it sounds like a GREAT idea! I'm going to start my own challenge, called, "SPRING into SUMMER" on the first day of Spring (March 20th - TWO weeks from NOW), but I need all the reinforcement I can get to stay accountable, and I love reading about other members' journeys!

The challenge I will be initiating will run from March 20th to June 20th (13 weeks), but I will make sure to check in here at least every Thursday. I will try to post a side-by-side before/after screenshot to show progress from first to current weigh-in. I will set my baseline here using my weigh-in for March 20th.

Although I will be posting my "official" first weigh in scale app stats and basic measurements on March 20th, I should note that this morning my scale read 157.0; so, our weights are very close. I'm hoping to take off four pounds by my first official weigh-in here so I can get back down to my January 1st weight (153.0) and start fresh. (I will report next Thursday's weight here as well.)

Congratulations on your 17 lbs. loss (AND your prior 30 lb. loss!) and very best wishes for your upcoming surgery and a speedy recovery! You've already proven you can DO this!🏆

I am 66.5 years old and only 5'3" (also close); so, I need to get my weight down to 141 or less in order to attain a BMI of 25.0 or below. I live alone (with one cat) and work full-time in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts. I have one son, age 41, who's been married almost five years - no grandkids. My heaviest weight was on February 29th, 2008: 217 lbs. I got down to 140 in about five years (MFP and Weight Watchers), but I've been up and down a LOT since then at one point (November 2021) all the way back up to 188! I want to lose the rest of this extra weight and KEEP it off!

(I still don't understand what "spoilers" are, but I'll look it up!) I love the little icons next to your dates!🌷

Can you believe we set the clocks ahead this weekend? It's happening SO FAST!

Enjoy your day - I will check back soon!

    💗Carole

    Hello everyone,

Happy Weekend! Looking forward to more hours of daylight!

I don't like this new editor. It doesn't look like it's saving drafts anymore and it seems like "@" tags aren't working either! Boo.

From today through March 19th we have 12 days. I will be resetting my fitness pal starting date to Thursday, March 20th. I'm still going to keep a food and activity diary; however , and I will also post my Thursday weights.

    Enjoy "springing forward" tomorrow!

Hi everyone, I’m Lauren! This is my first post ever to MFP. I’ve been a long time lurker with a journey of hills and valleys. Here’s the short of it…

I had my last baby in 2015. In 2016, after holding onto my baby weight for a year, I decided it was time to make a change! I remember like it was yesterday… I was walking in the mall with my kids, we went into the bathroom, and as I looked at myself in the mirror, i tried to smile. My cheeks were so puffy that the feelings of joy and excitement I was experiencing inside my being were muted by my lack of expression.

That was my turning point. I got a gym membership, downloaded MFP, started counting calories, and went from a tired, achy, and irritable 228 lbs to an energized and peaceful 155 lbs.

The hills and valleys of life come and go - as they do - and today we are at 176.6 lbs. The number on the scale relates less to my overall happiness these days and today I am on a journey of pursuing a healthier me. I am looking forward to celebrating with everyone at the end of May! Cheers!

Hello. I’m new to this challenge, but I’ve been doing MFP for nearly a year to lose 10 pounds. I’m halfway there, but these last 5 are being stubborn. I am 62, 5’6”, and retired. My plateau is a month now, but I am not giving up. Spring is here. The days are warmer. I am motivated!

My colonoscopy results: They removed one polyp, but it was very small. Results for that in about two weeks. Everything else looked good.

Having a little trouble keeping calories below 1,450 because I fasted for almost two full days, but I'm getting back into my wellness routine now.

    Have a great day!🌷

Hi all, I am joining late and have not posted on MFP either ever or in a long time ! I am a 33 year old female and am 5'5"/5'6". Back in 2019-2020 after my first child I dropped about 30 pounds post partum and got down to 147. I gained a bit back but was my happiest and strongest at about 152. Then as we came out of COVID and went back to "normal" I struggled to keep my bubble routine and gained back to around 168. At that weight I was still so active ( completed a half iron man!) and was okay with a few extra pounds if it meant my body could travel 70.3 miles. Then I had my second baby and while I have done a bunch of races and set personal records after her birth in June 2022 I still don't feel back to myself. So now I am focusing on doing that!

As I am starting a few weeks late I am hoping to extend my challenge through the end of June. We are getting a pool this year and the work has started so I'm using that as a driver for my timeline as well!

I hope we can all find some accountability and fun with each other on this journey to feeling happy and healthy ❤️

    Hello everyone!

    Helpful tip:

If you're on a desktop computer or laptop, holding down Shift+Enter should give you a single line return (instead of the default double line). I haven't figured out how to do this from the phone on the app yet, but if I do, I will make sure to share with the group!

    Here's the first example.
    Here's the second example.
    Here's the third!

    Have a great day!💗Carole

A little loss this week but back in the 140s so I’m proud of the work I did this week. I was tested. It snowed Monday and was cold all week. Ugh! I so wanted to have a pity party and eat chips and chocolates every night, but I knew I’d be disappointed come Friday so stuck it out with a lot of self-talk and inspiration from this group. 0.8 - I’ll take it with a big pat on the back. Have a great week everyone. 💪
