Hello all

I am conflicted about posting here but…
I turned over a new leaf September 28, 2024. I eliminated all carbs from diet except those in fruit and vegetables. It worked. I lost almost 30 pounds before the end of 2024. I quit taking my diabetes medication. My doctor didn’t care because my 3 month checkup had my A1C down by 1.2 points and I’m almost to a normal persons level.
I joined a fitness club the beginning of December then quickly hired a personal trainer because I didn’t know where to start. I’m not rich so it’s only twice a month.
To date I’ve lost 50 pounds but I’ve been stuck for over a month with no weight loss. My goal was set at 100 pounds to be realistic. I Really want to lose 137 because that will bring me to my best adult weight ever: fresh out of training at 21 years old in the Army.
I need all the support I can get.

Welcome to the MFP Community. We are all here to support each other. No need to be conflicted about posting a question.
You've had an impressive and rather fast weight loss. 50 pounds in 4 months. It is possible that your body needs a little break from that speed of weight loss. What have you done to break this plateau?
Have you reevaluated your calories in? The number of calories needed 5 months ago to lose 3 pounds in a week may be more than the number of calories needed now to lose 2 pounds a week.
The general advice in this community is slow and steady is better than too many changes all at once. But you seem to have had success with a complete overhaul all at once. It doesn't work for everyone.

congrats on the weight loss. Take a moment and feel good about that. You will need all the good feelings you can get. After you've had a breath, then enter your numbers as if you are starting your weight loss now. Since you have been losing weight, you might be eating at maintenance now. I would also recommend setting the goal to one pound a week. You are young. Your body will adjust better the slower you lose weight. This isn't a race. You will weigh something every day for your entire life. Establishing healthy habits both physically and mentally is the key to keeping it off.

welcome to MFP @trudijoysnyder
don’t feel conflicted. We’re all here for similar reason- the need to monitor or weight, whether too much, too little, or recomping for various reasons. I’ve found zero judgement here, only support.
I had a similar goal to lose 100, eventually settling on my wedding day weight as a goal. I don’t know your age, but for me, that ended up being far too low. I almost got there but decided to increase it for health and appearance reasons.
When I hit what felt like plateaus, other things were still happening. Body parts firmed, got smaller, muscles popped.
I sincerely recommend reading our NSV thread. NSV means Non Scale Victories and refers to changes that are occurring- even as the scale isn’t budging.
I provided a link below Suggest starting at the very beginning, and banking things to read for when you hit the frustrating patches, which you will, several times, as you get closer to goal
and don’t forget to congratulate yourself for what you’ve achieved so far, and to be making a plan now for how to wish to approach maintenance
My most recent NSV is taking a selfie with my daughter and seeing dimples again! I have hated how I've looked for so long and I actually don't hate this picture and my dimples are back. Can't remember the last time I saw those, I know it was when a Bush was in office! Even the fact that I was willing to take a selfie is an NSV in itself. I really needed that motivation, too. Have been becoming complacent recently, so thank you God!
What's your recent NSV?
