New to sharing my journey

Hi All,
Welcome to my little life with a BIG goal of 210lbs to permanently work off and release forever in healthy and fit ways! If only ‘loosing’ weight was that easy, I’d bury all of the excess, never to be seen or heard from again!
In addition to using the app to track my daily food, water, occasional exercise and nutrition, I’ve also been watching the Sean of Steel YouTube channel recently, which is VERY entertaining and helps me to feel not so alone on this journey. …also, that big weight loss IS achievable as well.
After using the app for three days, my brain was convinced that I MUST’VE lost 100lbs already by now, right?!?!?! Isn’t that how it works?! Because making the physical changes can be so mentally taxing, I must surely be at least half way to my goal weight in three days, right?!?!?!
For this reason and many others, I don’t have a bathroom scale at home. I was shocked a few months ago when I secretly weighed myself at my doctor’s office and realized how much I weigh. I thought at max, I’d be 110lbs lighter, which previously was my heaviest weight, many many many years ago.
I find when I have a bathroom scale easily accessible to me, I’ll either become obsessed and weigh myself several times a day, expecting to see a 10-15lb drop each time, or when I don’t see the numbers go down, I’ll give up and will completely sabotage my progress.
Right now I’m focusing on what I can control, eating more nutritious high protein & low carb foods, drinking water throughout the day, exercising occasionally and instead of eating when I’m hungry, drinking herbal tea instead.
It feels like the weight that comes off is one of the things that I don’t have control over, which can be frustrating at times. Instead, I’m going to ask my doctor’s office if I can go in and use their scale every few months, in order to weigh myself and to see where I’m at.
It’s nice ‘meeting’ all of you! Have a wonderful day!

Hello, I have a goal to lose 215 lbs. It is encouraging to me to find someone else here ready to tackle this challenge. I am eating more healthy choices, tracking ALL my food intake, and reaching out to others. The tracking and reaching out are new skills I'm using. Success right now is I am down 7 lbs. from my heaviest. Hope your journey is going awesome.

Congrats on beginning your journey and on loosing 7lbs! That’s famtastic!!!
Yes, I’m tracking ALL of my food as well. It’s helpful to see when I go over, or stay within, my daily calories what attributed to that.
While I’m focusing on increasing my protein and reducing my carbs, for my own journey, no food is off limits. The only way for me to be successful long term is for me to create long term healthy habits which I’ll continue to keep once I achieve and maintain my healthy goal weight and fitness level.
I have had a huge non-scale victory of going down several jean sizes, when I needed to buy a new pair of jeans last week. While I’m celebrating internally, it also shows me just how much further I have to go! Instead of buying a bathroom scale, I’m choosing to weigh myself at my doctor’s office every 3-4 months, to measure my progress. I’m focusing on the measurable achievements that I can control, like how frequently and how far I go for walks, as well as how healthy my meals and snacks are, along with staying in/near my daily calorie goal.
Have a wonderful day!
