Hi,

I’m not new but I haven’t been active on MFP for so long - I may as well be a new member.

I was first active on MFP in 2011 or 12, then again in 20232-23 prior to a hiking trip in the PNW (US) in August ‘23.

About me:

M, 62, CW: 89kg, GW: 79kg, OMAD, married.

In the last six weeks I lost 10.5kg via IF OMAD (one meal a day), increased physical activity (cardio, weights and walking) and a whole foods based low carb high protein diet. While the last six weeks have been really successful I know from experience that significant weight loss and lifestyle change takes a lot of work and progress isn’t always linear. So, Ive decided to track my nutrition and calorie expenditure for greater chance of future success.

My aim is to get to my goal weight and stay there while also improving my general health and wellbeing. I have a multi-day hiking trip planned for Nov 25 and I wish to be as prepared as possible for it.

Thanks for reading and I hope to get to know some of you!

Ben

I'm also low carb and have been for years and just want to say good luck this time. 😊

Welcome! Tassie is so gorgeous, I'm planning a multi-day hike there soon, I can't wait! (I'm in Adelaide :) )

thank you for your kind welcome! I’m thinking you must be doing the Three Capes Walk. From this time of year there is increased probability of extreme conditions in our subalpine areas.

Thank you for making me feel welcome! I’m loving the combination of high protein, low carb, OMAD and regular intense activity in a “fasted” state. I hope you’re having a great day!
