Happy Sunday!
True confessions, here's the truth about Wednesday's weigh-in:
I think I finally got rid of this temporary regain due to a late meal (including alcohol) on Tuesday evening, but we'll find out this Wednesday.
Boston is back in a heat wave, but I think this round will be less humid; so it probably won't be that bad.
My plantar fasciitis is almost gone - yay! I got these insoles from Amazon called "Walk Hero" that seem to have helped.

My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5β 5β tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018).
I will weigh on Wednesdays, but also on the 1st and last day of every month in order to get an account for the entire month. I will adjust my goals each week (need to lose more or need to lose less) in order for the math to add up to the 30 pound loss by the end. Iβm being optimistic at this point as we are just starting.

08/06 β 184.0 β (Trend Weight β 187.1) A nice whoosh overnight for me, perfect timing right before our weekly weigh-in. Iβm hoping to see my scale weights and my trend weights continue going down. Iβm working pretty hard for this right now. Is anyone else still posting here or is it just me?
βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ08/13 β 183.0 β (Trend Weight β 185.0) I actually went down to 181.8 then back up again after getting sick this week which I think was dehydration. So this is probably a natural course correction yet still down from last week. I do like the way my trend weight is coming down too. I just have to make sure I eat enough in this extreme heat and stay hydrated. I have 3 more weigh-inβs to complete August and I am down 5.8 lbs of my hefty (catch-up) 6 lb goal. I just need to keep hanging in there because it can reverse course and shoot straight up to the moon in an instant! Have a great week!

hi everyone, I hope it isnβt too late to join you in this challenge.
I am trying to lose the next 25-30 pounds and this feels like a great group for motivation.
I am 55 and started at 218 now 170. I have went low to no sugar due to diabetes which I am trying to reverse. My goal is to be under 25 bmi and be more active.

βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ08/20 - 186.0 β (Trend Weight β 184.5) Dentist yesterday-ugh. Apparently one of my crowns is not βsitting rightβ and the cement has washed away creating an issue. They just put it on in 2023! My fault or theirs? I dunno. I should have asked more questions. $1700.00 for the new crown. Thank goodness insurance will pay half. So back Iβll go later this month. I βblewβ the tire during lunch out, so when I got home I ended up βletting the air out of the other three. I ended up bingeing on a little of this and a little of that until it wasnβt so βlittleβ anymore. My son wanted to bring home a pizza for dinner later and I was a good girl and turned it down just bringing home a small personal pizza for him. I was very proud of myself for a minute there, thenβ¦ ugh, the binge later. Why? The dental results? Denial of the pizza? Self sabotage because another of August ending soon? Honestly, it felt like the all or nothing mentality since Iβd already eaten out of plan while away from home. My weight has fluctuated by 4.8 lbs this week. Up and down but mostly up with today being the highest. Itβs okay. This too shall pass. I got this! (staying positive here!). Never give up, my friends. This is why they call it a journey. And what a wild ride it can be!

Hi everyone,
Thanks again to all who sent birthday wishes! My gift to me (slightly belated) is to quit drinking alcoholic beverages forever. I had a recent bout with pancreatitis and it's no fun. Now on my 4th alcohol-free day, it is subsiding more and more each day.
My weight is finally below 160 again. (It had crept back up to 162 and I put on the brakes and reversed direction.) We'll see how Wednesday's weigh-in goes...

Iβve been experiencing several unexpected and unfair jump upβs on the scale lately off & on. I canβt explain what always happens on our journeyβs. All I can do is keep on keeping on and do what is right as often as I can and know that my body will eventually catch up. Today was a bit of a drop. It goes up much faster than it comes down, even with unexplained increases. Just keep moving forward Donna. Itβs bound to level off!

My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5β 5β tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018).
I will weigh on Wednesdays, but also on the 1st and last day of every month in order to get an account for the entire month. I will adjust my goals each week (need to lose more or need to lose less) in order for the math to add up to the 30 pound loss by the end. Iβm being optimistic at this point as we are just starting.

Iβve been experiencing several unexpected and unfair jump upβs on the scale lately off & on. I canβt explain what always happens on our journeyβs. All I can do is keep on keeping on and do what is right as often as I can and know that my body will eventually catch up. Today was a bit of a drop. It goes up much faster than it comes down, even with unexplained increases. Just keep moving forward Donna. Itβs bound to level off!
βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ08/31 β 181.8 β (Trend Weight β 184.5) I exceeded my goal by 1.0 lb in August, losing a total of 7 lbs this month which will really help me in my little experiment if I can just hang on to it. It was a hefty goal, much larger than my usual 4 lbs per month so Iβm really proud that I managed to pull it off by the end of the month. I really kept each individual weekβs goal in mind while doing this, though I had some bad days and some weeks I had to make up for. I have the U.S. Holiday of Labor Day (a food holiday) in September, a family memberβs birthday, and at least one travel day every week looming for the month. I will be battling every week as I usually gain several pounds per travel day so I will have to work hard all week, every week, to get it back down. That is like a challenge within a challenge for me! It wonβt be easy but I am committed to this feat, this challenge, this experiment and to myself and my health. I am going forward with hope in my heart!

CURRENT MONTH:
09/01-185.0 β (Trend Weight: 184.6) This is what it looks like when I fill with water. I stuck to my meals well yesterday but did have dessert at a friendβs house with DD and DGS. I was unable to take my prescribed water pill the past couple of days. This week will be hit & miss. Iβm not even sure if itβs fair to weigh and if the numbers will do more harm mentally than good. Especially when it continues that I canβt take the medication. Tomorrowβs weight would be after the holiday BBQ today away from home. Wednesday I travel several hours each wayfor a medical appointment on my eyes so Thursday will be skewed. Friday is βno weigh dayβ, especially with school back in session for DGS. So Saturday would be first day that weight has a chance to slightly level though it could still possibly be somewhat elevated if one day of recovery is not enough. I will play it by ear and see how my curiosity gets to me. This much back-to-back-to-back-to-back change is definitely cramping my style and my routine. It feels like such a wasted week and opportunity to see where Iβm really at. Iβve no choice but to push through and do What I can, When I can. Right now from this angle it looks like another month of chasing my tail. Last month I finally caught it in the very last week, only to start on that low for this month. Ugh!

ππππ 09/10 β185.7 β (Trend Weight: 184.7) I honestly expected worse so Iβll take it! Some of this is likely some fluid buildup too from so many hours of sitting in the car. This most recent trip from Monday morn through Tuesday night for medical was a 4 hour drive each way by Xway. I hope to shed the fluid over the next couple of days and see where Iβm truly at. Septemberβs schedule has been unrelenting. I just have to stick to it as often as I possibly can. I do expect that I will slide up & down the 180βs for awhile, just as I did the 190βs and the 200βs. It doesnβt come off and stay off that easily at my age! Persistence does eventually pay off though.

My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5β 5β tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018).

Hi everyone,
Happy weekend! Doing (yet another) reboot this Wednesday, October 15th. I will report weight, stats and key measurements as my fresh, "DAY ONE" and will report each Wednesday thereafter through the end of the year.
I think I need to start weighing daily (even though it sometimes makes me feel "crazy") in order to more closely monitor my calorie energy intake and output. I've been "slacking off" WAYYY too much!
My weight is about 158 right now, but I'd like to get down to about mid-140's by the New Year, and to achieve my goal of BMI under 25 by Spring, 2026.
I'm hoping the Fall season will inspire me. So here I go!

I'm starting up a brand-new, "COUNTDOWN to 2026" challenge beginning Wednesday, October 15th, where the goal is to lose 5-10 lbs. (or more) by the new year.
I'm staying in this challenge until the end of this year as well, but please feel free to join me in this new challenge as well, if you feel like making a fresh start. (I will still post and check in regularly on this board to report and share and to see how everyone's doing!)

My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5β 5β tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to continue on my journey to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018).
I will weigh on Wednesdays, but also on the 1st and last day of every month in order to get an account for the entire month. Even though I didnβt make the original running and continually decreasing goal, I did make up for some of the lagging. Maybe I can make up some more next week. My goal weight decreases by 0.7 each week so anything over that is playing catch up. Yesterday was not the greatest day. I pre-logged but my meals didnβt look like anything I had on paper. My dinner wasnβt until after midnight. I slept just 3 hours last night and was up early for travel. Overnight I gained a pound so my numbers would have and could have been a bit better but at this point, anything over the weekly goal is moving me along faster than I originally planned so Iβll take it, lump it and I hope that by the end of the challenge Iβve made up for lost time. Itβs kind of like a challenge within a challenge, isnβt it? Humphβ¦.

πππππ 10/22β- Goal: 180.0 Actual: 184.6 β (Trend Weight β 183.9) Iβm still hanging in here and seeing this through because Iβve worked hard to lose over 10 lbs since the start and I havenβt given up the hope (or opportunity) to still make up for some lost time with a few good weeks. Lots of time left until New Years Eve to do so! However, in saying thisβ¦. This was a horrific week with two days of travel and one event. One of the travel days I actually gained 5.4 lbs OVERNIGHT! I did shed a lot of water in the following days and managed to get much of it off but setbacks are setbacks. Delays are delays and it just slows everything (progress) down. Iβm not giving up though. I figure that whatever I do accomplish is a plus. Thanks to @Walela617 Carole for challenging me to keep working on myself and my health . Regardless of the final outcome, Iβm on my way!
