I went to a HIIT bootcamp class today! I was out of breath, sweaty and at times exhausted! It was manageable though. There was very little rest time. I drank 2 bottles of water. I later went for an hour and a half long walk. So, I got a good amount of exercise today. I signed up for 3 more classes. They’re free and I think after that there will be a fee, so that’s when I’ll bail! 😂 and head over to the community centre where there are free classes all the time.

Weight going up a bit is normal for this week, have to be patient and wait for next week where progress is typically observed.

@danifo0811- that is completely understandable. Treatments take a huge toll on the entire system. Give yourself some grace as your go through and fight this battle.

@tishsmith101 - you and me both on the ice cream…I love it so much and popsicles just don't cut it.. ! There are some ideas out there for protein ice cream but I haven't tried it. Let me know if you find a good alternative .

This week has been rough , not gonna lie.. Not sleeping well due to stress, mostly all related to work. Its too long of a story but the expectations and added workload have gotten out of hand. My manager is completely useless in offering any support. She is in way over her head and doesn't seem to hear me when I am telling her repeatedly my frustrations. I have considered getting a meeting together with manager but that has the potential to backfire because they are friends. I feel a bit trapped. This is not what I signed up for.

I almost bought a new bathroom scale today but I think I’ll wait till it goes on sale. My old one no longer works so I’ve been using an even older non digital one. It’s not very accurate.

Yesterday’s weights went okay - better than I thought it would - and as an added bonus because it was so warm both outside and inside the gym we didn’t have to do burpees as part of our warm-up.

Another hot day today with temperatures just drifting up into the 90s.  Will be a lazy day catching up on life admin/paperwork.

@Kupla71 - my bathroom scales are digital but I still can get a variation in weight on them depending on whether I stand quickly or stealthily sneak on to them.

@tishsmith101 - so sorry to hear the conservative chemo isn't doing it's job but hoping they take you in today to start the stronger one. I hear you about the mother-in-law - mine never forgave me for, as she used to remind me frequently, taking her son away from her, and I used to dread every one of her visits. Thinking of you x

Have not been diligent with calorie counting the last few days and although it doesn’t seem like I’ve been eating or drinking much, it’s those sneaky calories that can add up over time.

It's weird, I can see the weight loss when looking in the mirror, there's definitely a shift. But the scale wants to start my day off on the same crap energy. And this is where I say the scale becomes the problem, because it puts me in a bad mood first thing when I know I've been doing the right things.

I've been keeping myself very busy between my job and my own work so that I'm nowhere near the kitchen, and we are leaning heavily on popcorn at night, going for smaller and smaller portions of dinner, to see how small we can go before we backslide to snacking. I've added a cup of lemon-ginger tea and some ginger slices at night too. Helps with digestion, and it's all just kind of working right now. I've managed to get walks in most nights this week too — only about 1.5 miles, but it's better than no miles.

tishsmith101 You've got this! ✨ I'm glad your care team are monitoring you close enough to say, let's try something else. I hope the next steps get you on the recovery road quicker. Sending you whatever energy/good thoughts you want or need. 💛

I ordered a pair of Jean shorts in a smaller size! The size up was too big. I also ordered a pair of pants. I hope they fit. They should arrive today.

I was going to go to the AGO (art gallery) today but just didn’t feel like it. It would have been a good walk there and back. I’ll go next week. I’ll try and get some exercise today. Either the gym, a swim or a YouTube workout.

      I hear you @ManifestingToday 💯
I’m back and forth on whether to weigh every day. I keep a screenshot from the end of every month on this thread and I like to see how the weights go up or stall but then they drop suddenly. Also the daily weigh in sets an intention for the day, like a reminder to do the work. But if it generates too much of an emotional reaction it’s no longer helpful.

Went without Friday wine so I could be up early for the gym this morning – thanks to essential works my 45 minute journey to the gym took an hour and a half and I’m finding more and more that my sleep is worse after drinking alcohol.  I was at least hoping to stay the same weight as yesterday, but obviously the scales have other ideas.

Another sunny day here today but temperature is slightly down on yesterday.  🤞🏼

@ManifestingToday  - quite a few years ago my daughter came back to live with me for a few months and persuaded me to do Insanity with her - I couldn't manage a workout session each day but did every other day (and hated each workout). In that time the scales remained stubbornly the same, but I dropped two dress sizes.

In two minds whether to go to weights again tomorrow - class is later but I'm definitely going to have wine tonight!

Kupla71 Congrats on the NSV with the jeans shorts! I'm so happy for you!

Thank you MercyRoth and SofaKween . I have to remember that this number isn't the only indicator. And I have had all the bloodwork, etc this year — everything came back good. So my efforts, if continued, should provide results. I just have to keep going.

I had to go look up what the Insanity workout was. I can say that in my 20's, that's something I would attempt with no fear. As I looked at the exercises, I'm torn between "Hmmm…" and "Are you F nuts?"🤣 But I also assume if one even did just half of the exercises, they'd see results.

We are having Chipotle today - it's becoming our compromise "weekly go out to eat/don't go nuts" option. There will be a sodium bump tomorrow or Monday, but I'm understanding the pattern of this now.

Where did this week go?!? I’ve been away from my scale for 9 out of 12 mornings while visiting family and a camp trip. Back now to more frequent weigh ins going forward.

Made a delicious Chicken Caesar salad last night with cubed breast seasoned well and shredded Parm - added artichoke hearts and black olives but forgot the croutons which is unlike me lol.
Also picked up a tri-tip steak, bell peppers and onions for an easy summer meal tonight.

@ManifestingToday Thanks! I actually had to return the smaller size because they were still baggy but now too short. I found a better pair that were lighter and a bit longer and….. one more size down! Yay!
I had Chipotle a few days ago for the first time. I got a honey chicken burrito. It was huge and weighed a ton but I ate the whole thing! My weight went up 3 pounds the next day! But it came right off after day or two. Super yummy though.

It’s my birthday tomorrow. I’ll be 54. I’m celebrating with my brother and later with a friend. My brother is making me a vanilla coconut cake. It’s not the usual type of cake we have. It sounds yummy!

tishsmith101- I am sorry the treatment has to be stronger . Sending you good thoughts for a good outcome..

@Kupla71 Happy Birthday! The cake sounds delicious.. have a piece for me.. :)

@SofaKween and @ManifestingToday OMG.. Sean T and the effing Insanity workout.. I hate it so much.. I did it for a number of months in my early 30's when I was training for a Spartan race. It will definitely get you in some serious cardiac fit state but he is so so so so annoying. I hated it the whole time I did it but Damn did I get in shape. Ofcourse it was also 3 months after I had just completed a year's worth of doing P90x. That was then , this is now.. Its definitely not my jam anymore.. Lift heavy *kitten* and do a little cardio .. that's my jam..

Also at ManifestingToday, you are doing great. I love that your sticking with a routine and its working..

Anyways I survived my hell week last week but barely. Doubtful this coming week will be any better but I am going to try to not let it get to me like I did last week. A job is not worth getting Heart palpitations over.

I did a hard leg workout Friday night hoping for a dump of dopamine , It worked I think. I felt way better after and although I could barely sit down on the toilet the next day without serious muscle pain in my legs I was glad I did it. Today I did an upper body workout and then went and did hill climb repeats with my weighted vest on the trail behind my house for 30 mins. Its pretty cool to be able to jog up a hill with a 25 lb weight strapped to your back. I kept thinking how when I started this process over a year ago, it was 50 lbs of extra weight I was carrying around with me all the time.. That sure puts things into perspective .

    12 July – 54.9kg – Saturday
    13 July – 55.4kg – Sunday

Only had two glasses of wine last night and sleep wasn’t as bad as usual but scales  this morning definitely are.

Weather promises to be slightly less warm today so have booked weights at the gym again.

@HappyDonkey75 - I really need to work on my cardio, my focus on weights means it's suffering. I keep saying I will go back to C25K but then the weather heats up and anything over 75F and I chicken out. I am in awe of anyone who can jog up a hill - let alone someone with a 25lb weight on their back!

Am away from Thursday for a very long weekend so much more wine will be drunk and calorie tracking impossible.  It feels very wrong but I am not really looking forward to it as am away with people who love their food and fancy restaurants – quite the opposite of me.  We have our own kitchenette so I am already making my excuses and suggesting they eat out without me ....
