🌈Hello, ladies, and Happy July!!!🌈

🌈We're halfway through 2025 (and on July 2nd we'll be closer to 2050 than to 2000!!!)!

🌈What have you accomplished so far in 2025? What are you still hoping to acheive? And where would you like to see yourself in another six months?

🌈Do you have any upcoming plans that you're excited about? Or anything that's maybe a bit worrisome on the horizon?

🌈What's something that's fun or silly, a song/quote/story/etc that's made you laugh or kept you going recently?

🔴If you've never been here before, please know you are welcome to join at any point in the month. All you have to do is post something, and then BAM!, you're one of us.

🟠In this group, we post our weekly and monthly goals and provide support and motivation to each other as we share our triumphs and our struggles. This group is all about accountability.

🟡All are welcome and, if you think you belong here, you do! No matter how much you currently weigh or how you measure (or don't measure) your weight, we'd love to hear from you.

🟢Victories, both scale and non-scale, are great to hear about, but, conversely, we know that weight loss isn't all sunshine and roses. If you're going through a rough patch, please feel free to be honest and vent your heart out. The struggle is real and we're all here to support each other!

🔵Let's make this July one to remember!!!🟣

    2025 starting weight 225 Today's Weight 212.5

So far, I have accomplished sticking to the food plan, but still need to do better with the exercise portion. 🤷‍♀️

In 6 months I would like to see myself in the 180's or less.

Something funny.....I can't think of anything at this hour. Headed to work.

Very proud of you all on here. You are all doing well despite vacations, quitting smoking, etc. Very inspiring.

Thank you Raven for continuing this group.

Happy your knee issues are improving. I found a recumbent stationary bike to be the most comfortable but its not exactly small.

    Have a great week everyone!

    Good evening everyone! Happy July!

@RavenStCloud Thank you for this thread! I'm so glad to hear you're doing better.

🌈We're halfway through 2025 (and on July 2nd we'll be closer to 2050 than to 2000!!!)!

You didn't have to do me like this today, lol.

🌈What have you accomplished so far in 2025? What are you still hoping to acheive? And where would you like to see yourself in another six months?

My weight is pretty steady compared with the beginning of this year, but my mindset is way different. I'm excited to keep these habits, ways of thinking, and ways of doing things going.

🌈Do you have any upcoming plans that you're excited about? Or anything that's maybe a bit worrisome on the horizon?

Bestie's second wedding is later this month, other than that it's all surviving day child care while working at night.

🌈What's something that's fun or silly, a song/quote/story/etc that's made you laugh or kept you going recently?

Ok! Almost time for me to get off work, go home, and go to bed, lol. Tomorrow morning, second workout this week. I'm finally back in the normal non-vacation groove enough that I'm starting to look forward to weighing in in the morning again.

I think it's finally going to rain around here (maybe) so I need to make sure I can keep the girls busy before work. Maybe we'll go to an indoor playground. Short work week, whoohoo.

    Have a great day everyone!

    Happy July!

I ended up taking June off of trying to loose weight and focused more on strength.

I am working on getting in shape for the big season on marching band. Some of these props are super heavy. And you have a very short time to get them on and off the field for comps. Also, my brother is getting married in September and I would love to look good for that.

July I am focusing on strength, weight loss and consuming at least 80 ounces of water a day.

I would like to loose 12-15 lbs this month.

    Starting weight for 2025 236.7

Hello, and thank you @RavenStCloud for getting this thread started again this month.

🌈What have you accomplished so far in 2025? What are you still hoping to acheive? And where would you like to see yourself in another six months? 😏 Well, concerning health goals, I'd have to say I haven't accomplished anything. My weight is basically what it was in January (sigh). I've been within a 6 pound range since then, averaging around 234. I have been in a funk since January and recent events aren't helping much. I know working out consistently and spending time in nature is the sure-fire "cure" for the blahs, so I'm planning to make progress in that area. In 6 months I plan to weigh what I weighed from 2013-2020 (pre-pandemic times).

🌈Do you have any upcoming plans that you're excited about? Or anything that's maybe a bit worrisome on the horizon? 🙂DH and I spent 2 weeks in Corpus Christi recently so now it's time to have the grandkids come for a week or two, softball games, tending to my weedy flowerbeds, and catching up on indoor projects (cleaning 😝) (sewing ☺️) (photo organization 🤪).

🌈What's something that's fun or silly, a song/quote/story/etc that's made you laugh or kept you going recently? 🐱I've gotten hooked on watching cute/silly cat videos on IG. They make me happy so it's not a TOTAL waste of time (maybe)!

    Rita Jan 1 2025 - SW 233 Feb 1 - 231 Mar 1 - 232.8 Apr 1 - 231.4 May 1 - 236.1 May 30 - 233.6 July 1 - 232.8

    Dec 19 (Dr. appointment) 2025 GW - 217-222

edit note: when I posted this the numbers came out kinda goofy and I can't figure out how to fix them. I'll see what happens this time when I try.

I disappeared again in June, but I'm here to cheer you on and give encouragement when I can this month. I will write more tomorrow. My daughter called an hour ago and we just now hung up and it's bedtime.

Wishing you all a productive July in every way.

    7/1 - 202

In 2025 I feel like I have made progress in several areas - movement, tracking food and overall consistency. (If my goal right now was maintenance, I would be winning LOL) Right now I am working on my mental health. My role in life is changing and I my parents are needing me more. I am unsure of myself in this role, so I have started seeing a counselor weekly for now. She is going to help me navigate this area and other stressful areas of my life. I am also going to see a NP who specializes in women's health to see if there's anything more that I can do to manage my peri / menopause symptoms. In six months, I will be in onderland and my muscles will be bigger. I would love to say I will be deadlifting x amount of lbs and benching x amount, but I honestly don't have a clue of where I will be,

No big plans coming up anytime soon. My biggest concern is that my daddy (he's 81) is being put on insulin so I am learning about that process and the monitor that he will be wearing. Trying to figure it all out to make it easier on him and momma.

I would like to find a hobby that I enjoy doing. I know that I love fishing, but there are a few obstacles there - mainly not having a boat and having to work full time.

I like watch funny cat or dog videos on TikTok - lately there are some AI ones with the K9 dogs talking. I guess it's so funny because I spend so much time wondering what my dogs are actually thinking. If only they could talk! Although my little Riley Rose is so sassy I might not want to hear what she would say…

Looking forward to the long weekend. My work is being generous and is giving us off 1 1/2 days for the 4th plus I used PTO for Monday.

Hope you all are doing well at that you have an amazing July! May your pounds melt away with the heat of the summer….

Challenge Starting Weight: 260 (May 2024), Pre-retirement weight 262 before May. UGW: 167 (healthy weight for a senior woman my height)

    5'6" Tall

    I do check-ins when I lose:

    5/20: 242.6 😀

    6/10: 241.8

    7/3:243.8

    Here is my exercise schedule:

*1 session a week of Aquafit (50 minutes)

*1 session per week - long walk (60 minutes)

*4 sessions per week of 30 minute walks and 7 minute exercise for strength, stability and flexibility Today

    *1 day of rest

    July Goals:

⭐ get out of the 240s  Not giving up on this

    ⭐ drink more water

    ⭐ keep sugar intake low

⭐keep making healthy meals at home with only 1 day a week meal out. I am doing well with planning and shopping on Mondays so that if I don’t have a car I can still make 3 healthy dinners at home. I just need to plan a few more leftovers. We have enough for healthy lunches, but we need to have enough for a leftover dinner or 2 in case no one else feels like cooking dinners.

⭐ see exercise plan above  I am actually in flux here. I am starting to go to the Y on Tuesdays for strength training class for Active Older Adults (AOA) and may add in Thursdays if my husband goes down to working less days in the office than he is now. In order to do this I have to put my husband on the bus early in the morning and have to kill some time before the class. We are going to the Y on Sunday morning and are thinking about going Friday mornings too since my husband needs to take some leave. Anyway when I am not doing other exercise I take a short walk. Haven’t had a longer walk for a while. My husband has gained weight recently and is working too hard.

⭐ increase general activity level (NEAT) with cooking, cleaning, gardening and taking the stairs to the basement once a day. I am phasing in the gardening so it hasn't gotten to much more activity yet. I have 2 raised planters of herbs set up and have started to get a large vegetable raised planter set up. I guess by next spring I will be where I want to be growing my own vegetables.

What have you accomplished so far in 2025? What are you still hoping to achieve? And where would you like to see yourself in another six months? My weight loss has been very slow starting the end of last year. After retiring a year ago I lost 20 pounds by early October. I am now at only 22 total pounds lost since retiring. I can’t get out of the 240s. What I can say is that at the 1st of the year I was hovering at the high 240s. A few months ago I was hovering around 245 and now I am hovering around 243. The thing is when you lose your body has to accept that new weight as the weight it is trying to keep you at or it will fight to gain back the weight. So you don’t just need to lose. You need to get your body to see the lower weight as your normal weight to maintain. Instead of losing a lot of weight it seems like I am losing a little at a time and getting my body to accept that new low. My lowest low was in the 241s so I really should be able to get into the 239s and make some progress. So my high weights are lower and my hovering weight is lower but I haven’t seen a new lower weight for a while.

🌈Do you have any upcoming plans that you're excited about? Or anything that's maybe a bit worrisome on the horizon? I had a great weekend trip visiting my son, DIL and grandson last month. We have a family get together tomorrow. I have found a romaine and potato salad that has replaced my potato salad and I will be bringing that tomorrow. We have a camping trip at the beginning of August and are talking about a beach vacation to celebrate my grandson’s birthday. They used to live in Houston so this is the 1st time I can do that.

🌈What's something that's fun or silly, a song/quote/story/etc that's made you laugh or kept you going recently? I was serious when I was younger and now that I am older much more strikes me funny. There is a British comedian who suggested we have a silent letter day where we pronounce all the silent letters in English and then he proceeds to act out how that would go.

I would like to be walking 2-3 miles without having to sit down and breathing too hard.

Or, is there anything that's maybe a bit worrisome on the horizon?

I have an A1C test coming up and a Sports Medicine appointment.

🌈What's something that's fun or silly, a song/quote/story/etc. that's made you laugh or kept you going recently?

One thing I learned last month is to split my meal in half, then listen to my hunger and fullness cues to evaluate whether it was enough. It has kept my stomach from being too full, which was needed. If not, revaluate at 75%. This keeps me from overeating. I search for satisfaction and contentment with quality nutrition from most of my meals.

I was in an accident last year and am still recovering from injuries and activity is so painful. Heck. Sometimes sitting still is painful :p But I continue to do PT exercises and try to build up some more endurance and add a little more activity as time goes by. I'd like to see myself regain some of my mobility and activity levels by end of year!

🌈Do you have any upcoming plans that you're excited about? Or anything that's maybe a bit worrisome on the horizon?

We have a short trip coming up later this month. Being in the car for long stretches aggravates my injuries but it will be nice having some family time and fun away from all the worries at home

🌈What's something that's fun or silly, a song/quote/story/etc that's made you laugh or kept you going recently?

Being silly with my kids :) I can get them laughing so hard!

@kristinwoods919 nice to hear from you. You are doing it! We are close. I have to drink more water!

@kiteflyer105 I can identify with dreading the A1C test as well. That's what's motivating me.

@KeriA I still have not gotten back to the gym🤷‍♀️

@nebslp welcome back! Are u no longer nebslp1?

@jenbroussard71 mental health is so important. When I get really stressed my weight loss just stops. I'm trying to take care of my mental health and keep my stress levels low. Easier said than done but I'm doing better with it. Wishing you less stress❤️.

I seem to have the cigs beat. So far, so g ood. Although I look like a patch work quilt with red marks from the patches,🤣. My an iety is a bit overwhelming, at times. I think exercise will help. My goal is to start an exercise program today. My knees and joints are not the best, but sure the weight loss will help. Did research. Cardio, weights and HIIT. Intermittent fasting 18 6. I have been doing the fasting for a while and seems to help. And have exercise program in place.

I am hoping to have updated my skills and found a job in the December/January. About 5 months. Looking into some useful courses. I am worried about job prospects, competing with younger and smarter kids😔

🌈Do you have any upcoming plans that you're excited about? Or anything that's maybe a bit worrisome on the horizon?

A little thing. I am going for a coffee with a good friend from the city this coming Monday and haven't seen her in ages. Really looking forward to it🥳 Worried that I am not doing enough for my elderly parents. They manage on their own and are with it. But 92 and 93. Lucky to have them with us, still.❤️

🌈What's something that's fun or silly, a song/quote/story/etc that's made you laugh or kept you going recently?

My calico cat (spicy girl) keeps me on my toes. 🐈And her shenanigans are very entertaining.😁. Love the posts by everyone.Very encouraging, open and motivating.❤️

    Here is my exercise schedule:

*1 session per week - long walk (60 minutes)

*4 sessions per week of 30 minute walks and 7 minute exercise for strength, stability and flexibility or go to strength class at the Y instead of the 7 minutes.

    *1 day of rest

We went to Aquafit twice last week since the pool was open on the 4th in the morning but only did a couple of the shorter walks. I went to the strength class at the Y last week. We did the long walk on Saturday though.

    July Goals:

Well I didn't really lose much but I got the weekend (4th etc.) weight back down and a touch more so I decided to post and check on all of you. If you are new you are always welcome to join. Just post. Nice to see you @Kandy_Webster and @KnittingDragon

@kiteflyer105 I too would like to get back to walking 2-3 miles more easily. I have finally made it around Greenlake (2.9 miles) but I need to keep it up regularly. This week we walked 2.2 miles but we stopped at a nursery with a coffee shop before going back. Thanks for the song.

@kristinwoods919 glad you made progress this weekend despite the 4th.

@HazelMayes my husband was in a car accident last year and is still having pain too.

    @rorymason good progress

@anneliz35 I feel getting off cigarettes is the most important! Hope you have started the exercise program. Remember any improvement in exercise is a big plus. We have twin tiger cats and they keep me amused too.

Yesterday I was listening to a podcast on Nutrition and Longevity and the takeaway for me was I should have finished my menu planning and gone grocery shopping. Losing weight and exercise and doing what I am already doing food wise it all there is any science for. I also listened to a Peter Attia podcast who is the one behind the stability, Cardio, HIIT, and strength training 4 pillars thing say for older out of shape people who are "over nutritioned" pretty much starting with walking is good. Anyway I am doing the 4 pillars at my level. Basically the take away I needed to stop listening to the podcasts and do what I was planning to do.

Average is still recovering from my fourth of july weight spike, and the fact that I was on vacation the week before, with lots of alcohol and tracking maybe not the best. But I'm back, I'm tracking, I'm prioritizing protein and fiber, and from there, calories pretty much fall in line with little effort. And my scale weights are back in the 170s.

I started following a youtube channel I really liked, and made several of the recipes he highlighted: the plant slant.

Here are some recipes I went home and did, almost immediately, lol:

(oh yeah, I got a ninja creami, lol, I'm prepared to become That Girl)

Liam's big thing is fiber, and I did realize that not just protein but also fiber that helps with sateity. So yeah, it was a good youtube rabbit hole I fell down to watch all his youtube shorts, lol.

I'm on back shift, 3-midnight, and doing childcare during the day, since we couldn't line up all day summer camps for both girls. This is bad news for time with my husband, who I only get to see 215-3 every weekday, but it's pretty good for me diet-wise. All the food I have access to on back shift is what I bring, so it keeps me on track pretty well.

Yesterday I made my triumphant return to the gym, and it was great. I really did well on the pole, which I didn't do previously. I think the resistance training I'm doing outside the gym is helping, RIP me, I hate doing weight training by myself, lol. But, if I can tie it to doing great things on the pole, maybe that will help me to be motivated to do it.

    Tag party time!

    @kristinwoods919 you're doing so great!

@nebslp honestly in the grand scheme of things, maintaining weight within a tolerance is progress! it's what you're going to be doing later, just with a few less calories. It's always so good to see you here 😁

@jenbroussard71 I feel the changing life role so much! Being the sandwich generation, for however long we all do, is not fun at all. You made great progress, still, which is great!

@KeriA I LOVE the idea of silent letter day! I'm going to try that for a little while, haha

@kiteflyer105 I like the idea of splitting the meal in half and evaluating after the first half!

@HazelMayes keeping up with PT is the way to go! And you're doing great so far!

@Kandy_Webster @KnittingDragon welcome to the group!

    @rorymason you ARE getting there!

@anneliz35 coffee with an old friend sounds so great! And you're doing amazing with quitting the cigs, I'm so proud of you.

Wow, this took me way too long, because my husband is watching the amazing race right next to me and I got sucked in, lol. Time to go get my steps in before D&D later today. I've got the meal plan on lock- breakfast was two pieces of chicken pizza with a protein shake, lunch is going to be leftover mofongo and a protein bar, and dinner will be ground turkey and lentils with rice. Berries are dessert.

    Have a great day, everyone!

Hi everyone. It's been years since I was last on the community board and on this thread! I was happily surprised to find it aline and well. Thank you @RavenStCloud for keeping it going!

I forgot horrible using the community boards from my phone is, but I know I won't do them from my computer. So sadly I won't have any fun pictures or links.

I'm starting off my weight loss commitment again after a year or two of holding constant. Of course that was maintaining my weight at my highest weight, but at least I didn't go higher.

Starting weight July 6th (after vacation): 251.4

Current weight: 246.2 (from Saturday before going to my family's for the weekend…not looking forward to tomorrow's weigh-in)

    Small goal: 240

    Big goal 199!!!

My current motivation is for it to be easier to tie my shoes and my sister is getting married in Oct.

    😱

This is the face of someone who was on point with their calories all week AND went to the gym AND did laps in the pool AND DIDNT LOSE AN OUNCE!

🤔 This is the reaction of someone who is cooking meals for her hubby, who is dropping weight at alarming amounts, and eating the SAME things except he is eating greater portions and having snacks at like 9pm AFTER dinner to include grandkids count chokula cereal ( gross) and 10 crackers with peanut butter, and his wife sees he's lost like 12 pounds in a mere few weeks!

Not to mention we went to dinner last night and ate at a Greek restaurant where he had bread ( I did not) Potatoes ( I did not) and rice pudding for desert ( I did not have even a taste).

His A1c is perfect, lol, mine was atrocious- (we will see what it is again late August).

In some ways he' s looking more like the young man I used to know :)

😔 This is my face, accepting while the above totally sucks ( not for my hubby, I like him, so I am happy for him, lol), I DO see a change in my face (tho slight- not the metamorphosis he has had), and my shirts ARE fitting better, so on I go.

Next week I had better see some loss or I'm gonna be pissed 🤬

Thank you for reading my rant. Have a great week everyone ♥️

    Good morning everyone!

Weight has been creeping up by tenths of lbs but my average is steady, so I'm not worried yet. Gonna just keep doing my thing.

I told you I've been on a fiber kick lately- I just ate the last bowl of strawberry frosted mini wheats and fairlife milk, which had great macros for breakfast when I dumped a protein shake in with my coffee as well (and I'm almost out of those, so now I've got to mix up my own, which is fine, but less convenient).

Now the real question is whether I go to the store and get more. Surprisingly, giving myself permission to eat two servings of cereal with protein milk HAS been filling, unlike my previous experience with cereal. Maybe because of the fiber, or maybe because of the protein, or both. Either that or make a different breakfast for the rest of the week. I'm going to play around with MacroFactor about it.

While I was looking into getting more cereal, I found something I thought you guys might appreciate:

    image.png

https://www.laurentwiggenutrition.com/blog/how-to-stop-snacking She's a dietician, and I went to her article about high-fiber cereals, but I clicked around in there and found this gem of a table. I'm gonna have to print it out in big font and stick it by my computer, haha.

Anyway, thought I'd share. Time to play around in the ol' calorie counter to see what's for breakfast tomorrow and how it makes me feel. I think I'll take this time to experiment with other things, round out the week, and get more cereal and milk on the weekend. I do have some light n' fit yogurts I've been meaning to try in the fridge…

@rorymason I feel you on this rant so hard, haha. If my husband did half of what I am doing, he would lose weight so fast!

@anneliz35 oh no, you're allergic to the patches?! I'm so sorry, that's terrible! But you're still doing great in spite of that!

@trinati2001 your sister's wedding (and the accompanying pictures) are a great motivator. Welcome!

    Have a great day, everyone!

    @rorymason

I would be super pissed too! I'm sure you will see results, maybe it is just taking a little longer and you could be building muscle, too. Hang in there💪❤️

NSV: when I shop at Aldi, I hate unloading the main basket because I have to go in front of the cart, unload everything, back the cart out (and there's always someone standing as close as they can get) and get out of the checkout lane, push the cart back in, and then unload the seat. It's a tight fit to stay where I am and move the cart past me while inside the lane. Last night, without thinking, I moved the cart past me. It didn't even touch me. I probably could have been moving it past me for a while! That's exciting! Almost as exciting as the time I discovered I can sit comfortably in a booth again :)

Pre-fitting-in-a-booth, I was a bit over 360. I'm 308 now. It's taken a while to get here and I've gone up and down a little (I've bounced between 280 and 315 the last year. Illness and injury :/ ) but overall I'm still down and seeing the difference 😁

    72 years old

Challenge Starting Weight: 260 (May 2024), Pre-retirement weight 262 before May. UGW: 167 (healthy weight for a senior woman my height)

    5'6" Tall

    I do check-ins when I lose:

    5/20: 242.6 😀

    6/10: 241.8

    7/3:243.8

    7/8: 243.6

7/10: 243.3 I went up on Wednesday but back down.

7/18: 243.2 I went up after the weekend but am back down again.

    Here is my exercise schedule:

*1 session a week of Aquafit (50 minutes)

*1 session per week - long walk (60 minutes)

*4 sessions per week of 30 minute walks and 7 minute exercise for strength

    *1 day of rest .

We have had a bunch of family gatherings that have tended to show a weight gain from the weekends. Otherwise I am eating healthily and losing during the weekdays so that has slowed any weight loss recently.

We are having our chimney repaired so I have stayed close to home this week. It has been hot and we don't have air conditioning so I haven't been doing my strength training. They are almost finished so next week should be better for exercise. However last week I found my strength training exercise sheet I put together during the pandemic when the Y was closed. So since I don't have a car to go to the strength training class at the Y, I am started doing that with walking during the week. That was one reason I lost 20 lbs. during the pandemic before going back to work. We go to the pool on Sunday mornings for aquafit before church.

I am making 3 yummy healthy dinners a week. I have to plan and do grocery shopping on Mondays since I don't have the car for most of the weekdays. We have good lunch leftovers. I am actually trying to focus on healthy breakfasts and lunches and just a reasonable healthy dinner. So Although I focus on making healthy dinners they are really resulting in healthy high protein lunches as well. We are going out with friends Saturday but I don't think we will be overeating with them. My husband makes a wonderful wild salmon dinner on Sunday nights with lots of vegetables. I am trying to make sure there is an easy meal for him to make on another night if we need it. Often my youngest gets a take out meal for us on the other night but this coming week they are cat sitting so they will not be around much.

Today since it isn't as hot I put on an old t-shirt from when I was overweight but not obese. It is tight but it fits. It is really a couple sizes smaller than what I am wearing now. I have pants I wore last summer that were loose then but now they are just way too big to wear. However I need to lose another 5 lbs before I even think about buying smaller size clothes than what I have. This 5 lb loss I am working on is really slow and difficult.

@HazelMayes Great progress and consistency. You are close to that milestone. Nice NSV.

@CupcakeCrusoe I identify with recovering from weight spikes. Yes protein and fiber are good to focus on for me.

@trinati2001 glad to see you back . Great restart.

@anneliz35 good for you stopping smoking and losing weight . Great to have an exercise plan sorted too.

@rorymason weight loss has been a bear for me too lately. Last time I lost a lot of weight my husband did really well but he lost muscle. It was so much easier for him to lose though. Be glad your husband is losing. This time mine is gaining and I am worried. He isn’t as bad as I am but I know how hard it is to lose weight and I don’t want him to struggle like I am. But now that he is older he shouldn’t lose any muscle mass either. I too have one serving at dinner and he goes back for seconds. He has not been doing thirds anymore though. Glad you took the opportunity to rant. This can be so frustrating. I wish I have been as good as you have been because it will pay off for you eventually.

I was playing wth the widgets on my phone last night to make myself a little dashboard. The little rectangular buttons are habit buttons for the app Habit, I get to click them from the widget and it will keep track of my streaks in the app.

I made the colors of the habit buttons line up with the colors on the MacroFactor widget up there, haha.

    @HazelMayes that's a great NSV!

@KeriA that's a good NSV too, that you're wearing a smaller shirt comfortably!

Time to go to the gym! Have a great day, everyone!
