Hello everyone.

I've put on 65 pounds since leaving active duty a few years ago. And it ain't muscle. My wife and kids are concerned about me, so I need to do something to loose at least 45 pounds. Im not telling them I'm doing this. I want to suprise them.

Between work and home life I've developed some bad habits, so I'm going to need a lot of motivation to stick to my routine. My program officially starts on Monday, July 7th.

I know I can count on y'all, so let me thank you right off the bat.

Hey there! If you set your mind to it, you will succeed!
I highly recommend a fitness tracker like an Apple Watch (if you have an iPhone) it really helps. Going on walks after big meals has helped me and my husband and being brutally honest with the food tracking.

Lots of fruit and veggies is a must along with water. Try to keep your sodium under control, that’s the hardest one for me, they’re so much salt in processed foods so we try to cook at home a good majority of the time. Drink at least 40oz of water every day and be kind to yourself, give yourself a “cheat” snack or meal every once in a while, it should keep you from falling off or giving up.
I like that you want to surprise them, but think about including them, it will help if they’re involved, they’ll be a great support system and learning how to eat healthy together is a great bonding experience!
    Best of luck!
