Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. You have only one hour to edit your post. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share. Make the board your own - track what is important for YOUR JOURNEY.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

I would like to join this challenge to help me get started on getting my weight back on track.
A little info for me. I am a 40+ woman who hasn't been below 200 lb in over 12 years, before having my youngest child. I got pretty serious about losing weight two summers ago as I hit my highest (252). I lost about 35 lb, which helped me to find a breast lump. While dealing with surgery, radiation, and a new job, I started putting the weight back on. I don't want to get back to that weight again, so I've decided it's time again! Thanks for reading.

Round 303 (July 20 - 30, 2025) #4 : Let's start again! 😀
I need more motivation, inspiration and accountability in my life and this challenge has helped support me in the past, thank you. ☺️ I intend to weigh myself at the start and finish of the round and will update my progress within the group at the end. My height is 5'3" and I currently weigh 64kg (143 lb). My ultimate goal weight is 54kg.
Each day my goals are:
• To log my foods/exercise into Myfitnesspal
• Eat healthier and reduce the intake of junk food
• Reduce alcohol intake
• Aim to go to the gym 4 times per week.
Eager to stay committed! 🤸

🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 303 (my 233rd).
Goals for every round;
- First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
- to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
- be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
I need to remain consistent - it does work! I aim to lose a pound this round. Good luck for success everyone.
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 135. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.
Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.
I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life."Health is wealth".
7/19 141.6 – 8.86 miles walked (again!) Failed to achieve goal of 141, but nevertheless, a loss of 2.6 pounds from the inflated number at the end of the last round. After I posted yesterday, I remembered that we had a dinner date with BIL & his partner at a local Indian restaurant, it was too late to edit my post. I was pleased that I ate very lightly all day & then chose very sensibly, walked to & from the restaurant and left half my boiled rice. I came away feeling satisfied, but not stuffed or uncomfortable, an NSV for me. I also feel that helped me to maintain yesterday’s number.

Yesterday was a good day. My DB was moved into a hospice center where he has a view of the woods and can get the care he needs 24/7. His condition has deteriorated dramatically in the last week. I’m relieved that he’s there, not only for him but for his wonderful wife, who at 83 has been his primary caregiver. She’s exhausted. My DB#1 and DSIL (85 and 86) flew in from FL, and DS (83) and DB#3 (76) were there as well, so yesterday all of my siblings were together for what will probably be the last time. Very emotional, but mostly with love and laughter and great memories. As the youngest by 17 years, I’m very lucky to have my big, loud, loving family for so many years.Thank you everyone for the notes and prayers- I finally went back and read them this morning and truly appreciate all of your support

@cleanslate111 So glad to have you here. My highest weight was 253 after I quit smoking. I also found a breast lump after a bit of a loss and I am now a survivor of the breast cancer. Doctors will tell you that losing weight is one of the best ways to prevent it from coming back due to how our estrogen is stored. I still have quite a ways to go. Today I sit at 187.8 (but am usually in the 190's). My goal is around 147 which is the weight I was before I quit smoking. Let's do this together. We've beat cancer, we can beat obesity too! #strongertogether!

ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND 187.8
💥💥💥 07/20-187.8 💠 (Trend Weight: 190.4) I had an excellent day yesterday with low calories and all my carb and macro goals being met. I also did 30 continual minutes of intentional exercise. I was really hoping to see my weight go down a touch, even just a dribble but I guess it wasn’t in the stars. However, my trend weight did go down again so I consider that as faith in me. Have a great round everyone. I look forward to your posts and your goal progress each and every day!

7/20 ⚖️ 133.6 I remember writing several months ago that 132 is my danger zone. I allowed myself to surpass only because of the “scale” fiasco two rounds ago and now I am accepting that this is the weight I must accept as REAL and move on from here. Don’t know how long it will take to get to 128.x but that’s what I want. But most of all, I want my BF% to decline. Tomorrow, I will take measurements after researching what I can do from home (I don’t trust the RENFRO measurement to be accurate) and then, when I get to 131.x I’ll do another InBody (DXA) scan. Thus, my journey to reduce fat, that has been seriously neglected for the past year, and will officially commence again. I will continue to focus on functional ST & traditional ST, mobility and flexibility in my morning time before I “start” my day — the 300 jumps are a good challenge for me - and will build in “skipping” in my structured walk as well as box jumps. It’s so easy to forget my WHY each day - my attention span and commitment to my health goals (#agingyounger & #HSF) for my grandchildren seems to be forgotten often… this must be in the forefront of my mind each day to remain committed. It’s back to placing reminders all around my house because my habits are simply not engrained YET.
I jotted some notes (below) that others may benefit from - this is a long post. However, moving forward this round I’ll keep it brief (unless of course I have an epiphany.) While I recorded my nutrition goals for this round, I'm seriously considering another 68-72 hr fast beginning either Monday or Tuesday at 6PM. This is to reset my system - not for weight-loss. I know that a 72-hr fast takes preparation time so I may need to push it back to Wed. I know when I’ll be ready.
Good luck to all this round!
JGMTD TWO YEAR REFLECTION - LONG POST - What have I learned over the last two years?
- Mind+body+soul. All must be aligned to reach optimum health.
- Consistently track or I will surely regret it later.
- Portion control is my #1 challenge
- An accurate food scale is mandatory
- NO processed foods
- NO seed oils
- MACROS rule. How and when I eat also matters.
- Build habits - don’t diet
- Fake it till I make it… Wear my "new" identity #HSF to make decisions… I'm NOT my past self- I am my new-self!
- Whole food - simple three ingredient meals win
- A rare alcoholic beverage is enough. Two ruin me.
- Repeat the same meals that work for me. Keep it simple. Food is not my life - it’s fuel for my body. Embrace food as fuel.
- Close the kitchen at 6 PM. Reopen at Noon. IF 16/8
- Find joy and contentment in new experiences that have nothing to do with food/drink.
- Prioritize & cherish a good night sleep. Good decisions will follow.
- Remove / avoid/ limit relationships & events that do not support or understand my health goals.
- Protein, protein, protein.
- Prioritize protein at every meal.
- My discipline is stronger than ANY hunger pain FEELING.
- The most important measurement is BF%. There are lots of “skinny fat” gals out there! Choose strength over the scale!
- Don’t rely on motivation… Discipline wins
- IF 18/6 - 2 meals a day b/w noon and 6PM works for me.
- Maintaining consistent 💓Z2 is HARD but optimal to burn fat.
- Weight loss is won in the kitchen.
- Cardio is for overall health.
- ST is for longevity, fighting dementia and metabolism.
- I always always always regret eating foods that I know disagree with my system. It’s just not worth it!
- STAY HYDRATED. Think your hungry? Drink water first. Then re-assess.
- Momentary tastebud pleasure does not compare to the deeper satisfaction of exercising self-discipline
- Supportive/ positive Self-talk & daily habits determine success.
- A positive morning routine, prayer, self reflection, & staying present with a grateful attitude is my #1 life-hack. Never skip.

@Chapter_3 Happy JGMTD Anniversary!
@deepwoodslady Sometimes my excellent days take a day or two to catch up. Hope that's the case for you. I kind of agree with @quiltingjaine about the water pill. I know you have a busy fun life, but noone will care if you have to go to the rest room a lot, and maybe your body will adjust?
@stephanj Hope your time with Step-Mom went well.
@jspecies11 Oh, that pesky ground hog! We have them too, relocate them and then another one finds it's home. Last year they totally destroyed the garden. This year just planted what they didn't seem to like, tomatoes, potatoes, and corn! Also planted some horse radish that seems to be ok.
@SModa61 When is the wedding? Very exciting.
@judefit1 Thinking of you, so glad that you had time to all be together. 🫂
