Subject: Feature Request – Option to Label Quick Add Calories

Hello MyFitnessPal team,
I really appreciate the Quick Add feature for logging calories and macros quickly. However, there’s one limitation: when I look back at my diary, all I see is “Quick Add Calories,” and I can’t remember what specific food or drink I logged.
Idea: Add an optional text field to Quick Add, so users can name the item they’re adding. For example:
Quick Add 100 calories → labeled as “Cookie”
Quick Add 250 calories → labeled as “Iced Latte”
Why this helps:
- Makes diary entries more meaningful — users can see what they ate, not just the numbers.
- Provides better behavioral insight over time (patterns are easier to spot).
- Keeps Quick Add fast and simple, since the label would be optional.
This feels like a small, easy-to-implement improvement that would add a lot of value for users who rely on Quick Add but still want clarity and context in their logs.
Thanks for considering it!

One option would be to add it in "My Foods" where you can give it a name, and log it from there. You don't have to add all the nutrients, just calories

I would have sworn that this was once a Premium feature, but apparently not, I might be thinking of another app. There's a small article in the support section saying that they don't do this because it's too hard to code, and suggesting you use the notes section.

You may be thinking of the fact - at least I think it's a fact 😉😆 - that with premium a person can specify macros in addition to calories for a quick add?

You may be right there!

I’d love this option. I often use quick-add as a place holder, especially when I pre-log a week out.
I’ll set aside 1500 and would like to mark it as “Bunco” or “Dinner with Suzie”.
I tweak my pre-log constantly, changing this snack or dinner to that day, to keep calories constant , and being old as dirt, I sometimes have to think hard “now why did I block that off?”Later on I’ll usually go back and update to include what I actually ate, but once in a rare while I just leave it, like when we had the “Syrian Sampler” recently and had no idea what some of the stuff even was (besides delicious!!!)
I’d like the ability, when I’m paging back weeks later, to be able to say “oh yeah, that big overage was that dinner at the hotel”.0
