Thank you for the new thread @ManifestingToday

Well August didn’t exactly go according to plan and i'm starting September heavier than August.Β Β Need to learn to ignore the large bags of mixed nuts that my OH keeps buying (but only because I keep eating them, so entirely my own fault).

In August my weight was up and down the same few pounds. There was a while where I thought I lost a solid 3 pounds but one day of too much food and I gained it back. I will not get derailed.

  • Hi all. I’ve been maintaining at 140 ish. Goal is to weigh less than that by end of September. I have 2 weeks on holiday this month with no access to a scale.

Sat with a large pint glass of water by the side of me yesterday evening and drank some of it every time I thought about snacking.Β Β Did it help with the scale number this morning? No idea but within an hour the glass was empty so either I drank through boredom or maybe I need just to drink more. Have added it to my September goals.

This month I’m looking to maintain the newly adopted strategy of small early dinners, and add more consistent exercise. Once I get consistently below 170 I may take a break from the weight loss and focus on maintenance.

A little about me: 12 years ago I worked my butt off during my infertility journey to get to a healthy weight. Just as I got myself to 157lbs (5'3)I finally got and, stayed pregnant. My biggest fear was getting fat again. Here I am,5lbs heavier than what I started that journey at. 2 weeks ago I was back home, I found myself trying to back out of physical activities with my kids and, nieces and nephew because of my weight. I hit my highest weight that weekend. I'm back at this (again). I have a check in at the end of October with my GP and, I'm terrified of what my a1c and cholesterol levels are going to be. So, I'm starting now, no point in waiting until later to make a change.

Thank you to everyone who has sent me a virtual hug and good wishes during this time. I very much appreciate it. Its going to be rough for a while. I have owned and lost so many wonderful pets over the course of my life but this one was my heart dog. It feels so much harder with this loss.

I have my trip to Iceland coming up . I leave next week. I have alot to do yet to get organized as it will be a "adventure" type trip where we are on the go every day to see all the things to see. We don't even stay in one hotel for more than one night at a time . I think I will be coming home more exhausted than when I leave but it will be worth it. It does take a bit of the enjoyment out of packing for this trip given the recent events. At the same time, had it happened when I was gone it would have been much worse.

Went bouldering again yesterday - never gets any easier as the routes are re-set regularly but it's always a bonus when I manage to climb a V1 - which may sound impressive for those who don't know the grading system, but sits me squarely with the beginners. I did once, once, manage a V2 but the route setter has changed and they're now more challenging. Well, that's my excuse πŸ˜‚.

This week went sideways. I'm doing 3 different jobs and about to start an online course, and hoping I'm not coming down with something. Life is so interesting. Not excuses, but just how things are going. Weight has yo-yo'd a lot lately, but I've consistently hit the treadmill this week, dialed back the evening popcorn (airpopped), and I've been saving calories for dinner, when I'm hungriest, or need to be most satisfied. I've been hungry, but I suspect that's my body needing more fuel. Just lots going on.

michellevt725 Welcome to the group! I'm wishing you the best as you start this journey. It might be a little different than the last time, but you have proof you can do it, so that only means you know you can do it again. Happy to have you here. :)

HappyDonkey75 Reading that brought back one memory that I don't let myself revisit often. Sending many hugs to you, and sharing tears. This is I think the hardest part of animal ownership, but you did all the right things. <3 I hope that you fully enjoy this amazing trip you have coming your way. A reset in many ways. My best to you.

We picked up his ashes today. It was yet another hard day but I have some solace knowing I have him home with me. Its just hard to fathom that the urn full of ashes is all I have left of him. I washed his bed and placed it in the living room with one of his tennis balls he played with in it. The funniest thing happened. His buddy Bo, one of my cats, laid in his bed and played with the ball. Something he had never done before. Now the other cat is sleeping in his bed in such a peaceful way. I am sure they can still smell him even after the washing so I hope maybe it helps bring them some comfort. It made me feel a little better seeing them in the bed for some reason. Normally the bed was on my side of the bed and its been so painful to go to bed and wake up with the bed empty so I had to move it.

@ManifestingToday - I am sorry if I stirred up some painful memories for you :( Thank you for hugs and sharing the tears . I know that I made the right decision because it was the only humane thing I could do as he was in so much pain but it still feels so awful. Thank you for validating the right decision was made and yes, its 100% the hardest part of having pets. There have been so so many tears. I just wish I knew that he was ok. I want to rely on my faith but its hard. I am looking forward to my trip and having a little change of pace and something else to focus on . I think it will do me good.

Ok I have nattered on long enough. I am still not exercising other than getting my steps in and its bugging me but it is what it is at this point. Eventually I will get back to a routine but for now it probably is not likely to happen.

Tired today after weights even though programme was slight cutback in weight. From tomorrow and for the next six days I have transport problems in getting to the gym. Will need to find the enthusiasm to make the 70 minute journey there and back - may be a good time to knuckle down and restart C25K.
