Here For Weight Gain

I had this app before but barely used it but now I’m really determined to meet my calorie goals because I’m really determined to gain weight after recently realising I’m very underweight. I’d appreciate some tips on how to eat more if anyone has any. These days it’s difficult especially when you’re not used to eating so much to gain weight. Thanks!

"Eating so much to gain weight" is not necessary in most cases. Gaining weight in a healthy manner only needs a small total above maintenance, say 250 per day. Combine this with doing a strength training regimen (doesn't have to be weightlifting…rock climbing, swimming, calisthenics, and more also qualify), we can try to make sure the weight gained is largely muscle, not just body fat.
If you simply do not have the appetite to eat more, there are some techniques you can try:
- Eat smaller meals but more frequently - By keeping meals small you won't feel stuffed, and by doing more often you can increase the percentage your body actually absorbs
- Eat more fiber - fiber is famous for bathroom assistance, but it also helps the body absorb nutrients from food you eat. Gradually increase the amount you eat to avoid stomach cramps and other side effects from eating too much fiber too quickly
- Replace low-fat foods currently used with full-fat versions when used as part of recipes
- Add small amounts of healthy oils (olive, coconut) to pans before cooking, both to help prevent burning as well as to be absorbed into the food for a few extra calories
- Try drinking your calories - bodies will tell your brain you are full when you eat calories, but are usually not very good at telling liquid calories apart from simple water, allowing you to drink a protein shake along with a normal meal for the same level of fullness as if you just used water
