Got a Dietitian Who Referred Me Here

Hi All,
I am 55 and have never had a dietitian until a couple months or so ago. She recommended I get the MyFitnessPal app, so I immediately did. I want to take this seriously, as I need to lose at least 40 pounds if I want to be in good shape. I intend to do exactly that.
That said, I do not intend to go in so hot that I burn myself out and stop. In fact, so far I am weighing in at the same weight as when I started. I am okay with it. My intent is to make long-term changes that will increase my health and extend my life.
Thanks to all of you for being here, and I look forward to getting to know some of you as well as making online friends. I know that this will help me to be the best example I can be for my family.
Peace and Success,
HopingForMyHealth

Hi, welcome.
Ours did too, we use the tracker for quantity, and pretty much the myplate template to design meals. and lean toward fresh & mediteranean food choices - Explored various approaches & foods for health - it has been going well.
Hope you find ways that work for you.

my dietician suggested MFP to me, too, at age 56, obese and sedentary.
I am so grateful she did.
