    Hello, and welcome!

Um, but . . . be careful? I hear what you're saying, that you're new to healthy eating, exercise and weight loss. But 1000 calories daily is way too few for nearly any average-height adult, especially a male adult. There may be a few quite old, petite women who can eat that little without invoking muscle loss and ill health, but few men or young people. MFP won't give a man a calorie goal lower than 1500, because of the risk of malnutrition among other bad things. Please reconsider.

Super fast weight loss isn't healthy. It's dangerous.

Better: Put your demographic data into MFP. Tell it you want to lose about half a percent of your current weight per week. A small bit over that is OK if your life is low-stress, and you're young, otherwise healthy, and resilient. For sure, don't go over one percent unless severely obese and under close medical supervision for nutritional deficiencies or health complications. (Those are very real risks.) Follow the calorie goal MFP gives you. Don't lowball it.

I'm not trying to discourage you. Maybe think of me as your concerned old internet auntie who wants you to succeed with your goals, but stay healthy at the same time. (I'm old enough to be your auntie, maybe even great-auntie; and I've been around the weight loss block a few times . . . quite successfully on the most recent round, now in year 9+ at a healthy weight after previous decades of overweight/obesity.)

    Please don't risk your health.

    Best wishes, sincerely!
