Honestly, about a week and a half before pms will set in, then the week before I get flu like symptoms (this has only started this year), then cramps during and even the week after. I have about 1 good week. I always had a fantastic sex drive though up until recently. In all fairness I am in the process of finding the right synthroid dosage and the right birth control. Still losing weight though so I can't complain. It's a snail's pace but it's happening all the same.

For the record, I don't hate any of you. But if any if you touch my pizza, ice cream or cherry pie I will turn into that which only exists in your nightmares.

You ladies have a good night! :drinker:

No cramps except when I'm ovulating and then for a a day or two.

I get morning sickness through out my period. I hate how everything smells I'm constantly nauseous and because of that I'm irritable, I can't eat food that isn't crisp and raw with no spices other than that I can't tell so I have to keep a freaking calendar to track (thank God for being regular) weirdly enough, I didn't get any morning sickness when I was pregnant.

Flip side is the first day of my period I get reverse Moodiness and I'm super hyper and bubbly

    Pass the cupcakes

Being that I have a mood disorder, it's REALLY hard for me to track the mood effects of PMS. So, I can't answer that.

Physical effects? They don't come until the day before. Don't be jealous, though. I cramp badly. VERY badly. Sometimes, I can't get out of bed. My sisters often brag to me about how they only cramp in one area and only for a few hours. Which makes me want to punch them. Because I cramp for two days. Straight (and then a third on the last day of the period). And the cramps will be in my back, legs (legs are the worst), stomach, and... 'that' area. No amount of midol, tylenol, birth control, or prescribed pain killers has been able to help, either.

The cravings come about two days before.
  • I get it about 3 days before normally. I'm irritable as hell, and generally feeling sluggish. I think my bf knows to be careful what he says to me during this time haha!

2 days before I wake up and will happily stab a puppy. 1day before I wake up and will cry if anyone even thinks in my direction. Day 1 I am horny ashell and have more energy than god. Day 2 I am doubled over in pain and can't move let alone standup straight. After that I'm good.

I am lucky here, I guess. I usually get a burst of energy the day before and then day 1 some minor cramping. Running and exercising is definitely helping that and keeps the period to only 2 to 3 days. I actually am in the mood for loving more during that time, but it's gross. Now, on ovulation day, I will cut a b@tch.

I've been PMSing since kindergarten lol Seriously though, about 2 weeks of hard core PMS before my period hits.
  • Waffle's onto something! I like this....... And for the record: I have nothing........no cramps, no pain, no appetite loss or gain, no decrease libido, nor fat belly/no skinny belly, no irritation; no obsessing, no crying, no over laugh; no grouchiness,.....just peace.....beautiful peace..........you see, I am going on 67 and had a Hysterectomy at 50 and when everything stopped. life became fabulous!! No, I did NOT lose my sex drive...it skyrocketed (no pregnancies to worry about, no little kids anymore!). I did get a little overweight....so watch your food intake when you finally get rid of your "friend". The person that mentioned she has less problems, esp. when she exercises. is correct. I owned two companies before I retired and for those 32 years I had 50 employees (male and female). The girls noticed when they started doing heavier work for me, they had less pain, grouchiness, and overall problems. To compensate them for this 'extra' work, I let everyone off an hour earlier, with pay. The men loved it; but because they didn't have too go through all this stuff we did, I made them do all the 'pickup' work (retrieving all the equipment, tools, containers, etc.) and putting all the stuff in the proper vehicles to leave the customers' premises. This is what we all did, but on days of early release for the women taking on heavier, work that required more exercise, just the men did it for us, which they didn't mind. Also, little known fact....when girls work together, live together, etc. they all have their 'monthly moments' together. So, every girl in my companies that worked together had it at the same time. Even the guys sympathized with our ladies....:)

2 days. I mostly turn into a raging hormonal *kitten*.

like- epic. serious intolerable raging - I throw things like a 3 year old.

Day before or day of- some minor cramping and I want chocolate- but mostly I just deal with the incontrollable rage issues about 2 days before.

I do a lot of swearing.

    then a lot of apologizing.

I would say a whole week beforehand. I'm super emotional, EVERYTHING hurts my feelings. cravings are SUPER hard to control ( I feel as if i could eat for hours and hours and hours without stopping), I also have an IMMENSE urge to drink (wine is usually my poison of choice)

Ok this cycle was weird......no symptoms other than a bit of salt craving and drank more wine. But my mood was FINE! Until the day before I started. I wanted to kill everyone and got so mad at my husband I made a hole in the wall with the door.

    Jeebus.

Its been all over the map since first having kids 10 years ago... I think there was a solid 2 years of PMS lol.. once in a blue moon its nothing, typically about a week and occasionally 2 weeks. And the EXHAUSTION, oh good grief, this past mth was the worst... slept 10-12 hours every night (normal 6-8 hrs) and was still exhausted during the day for 2 weeks!

i don't ever remember ever having had 'pms'. i'm sure i experience some symptoms, but they must be mild enough that i need not pay much attention to them. i get cramps, and feel melancholy, for the days of my menses but i don't feel it coming. my menses are light and brief. i barely have them. then again, i barely have breasts, and i don't have hips.

i had a lot of full-spine x-rays from ages 12-16. i think this is why i only made it 3/4 thru puberty and and am thus not entirely very physically 'female'-seeming: my ovaries were nuked.

I've always been on birth control with an even dosage, so my body doesn't really know when the PMS since it isn't sure if the period is coming. That said, I'm now on a new birth control and am insane all the time. Is it really PMS if you're crazy 24/7?
