Is level 3 even harder than level 2 on the knees? I am hesitating finishing level 2. I have done it twice, and my knees are not loving it at all. I don't want to quit though!0
-
eastcoaster, my knee was a little sore this morning after day 1 of level 2. It was a stiff, but its okay now. I think I may need to ice it after I workout even though I felt fine afterwards.
sngnyrslp, how was level 3?
So its strange how I felt disconnected from the site because I didn't have levels 2 and 3. So I went out and bought the dvd so I can reconnect and now it seems like a lot of you are getting bored or busy or just plain sick of Jillian! Let's atleast end the month strong. Ultimately, I am doing this for myself, but its nice to have others along for the ride throughout the process. So come back to the site. did it move again? Sometimes I post on the wrong thread while everyone else is chatting somewhere else.
I'm doing level 2 again today after my kiddo gets on the bus for school. Hope you'll join me.

Hi Leela,
I frequent this board, and also http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/111525-30-day-shred-anyone-want-to-join-me?page=6
The other board started later than this one did. I am always checking out both of them.
I rested from shred Sunday and yesterday. I did some extra cardio yesterday instead of the shred because I am nervous about my knees. My Mom had a knee replacement and I fear that I have her bad knees! We will see what today brings.
Jump over to the other board and introduce yourself. It is fun to follow two!0 -
I did level 3 day 1 late last night, and it was nuts! Just like with level 2, I didn't watch it beforehand because I couldn't get it to play on my computer. Because of that, I spent the first ten seconds or so of every move watching to figure out how to do it. That means I really didn't give L3D1 100%. But now that I have more of a handle on it, I think today will be pretty interesting. I really like Level 3. It's not as hard as level 2 but it is more challenging, and I love how everything incorporates abs. I'll be checking in again late tonight to update on Day 2, which will hopefully leave me exhausted!0

So I finished d2L2 and it was pretty intense. My knee is bothering me a bit from yesterday. I just iced it afterwards, it should be fine.
I had to modified most of the moves like the plank jacks and squat thrusts. Alternating one leg reminds me of a move called mountain climbers. I can't wait for next week because I am going to give it 150% and try to avoid most of the modifications. I won't do it again until Thursday. Tomorrow I do Zumba in the morning and that's more than enough!
Just curious, how long did everyone stay on level 2 before it got easier? It seems like I didn't have to do any modifications on level 1 from day 1. Maybe its just because I'm out of touch with it, but level 2 is more intense than I thought.0 -

Funny you mention mountain climbers - they're in level three! As far as level 2 goes, I don't know if it ever got easier haha. By the end of the ten days, I was taking very few breaks (maybe only one or two), but it still kicked my butt every day. Level 2 seemed SO much harder than level one.0 -
leela! great job! it is hard I always modify the knee stuff... it's just too hard on mine from old sports injuries... so I wouldn't push it too much with those!
Sngnyrisp .... level 3 great job... I'm nervous!!!
shoot! I didn't start level 3 today... I haven't missed a week day in 3 weeks... got home late... but feeling guilty... was going to do it now, but I'm afraid I'll be up all night... oh well tomorrow is another day... :explode: :grumble: :noway: :indifferent: :frown:   :yawn:0 -
L3D2 done, I took 3 breaks (maybe four?) but stuck with it pretty well. those jumping lunges are a killer. I'm going through a family crisis right now, but I'm glad I made time to work out, it calmed me down a bit and helped me de-stress. Tomorrow I move back to school and will probably Shred after carrying heavy things to my dorm room; that will be interesting.0
-
sngnyrslp, I hope things get better on the homefront. After moving into the dorm, if you are tired or sore, maybe you should take a day off from shredding. your body with thank you. Sometimes the one day off is just what you need to rebuild your muscles. It seems like I can only do it at 75% (taking short pauses or doing modifications) but after a day of rest, I'm at 100%. Keep on pushing. Good luck with school.0

L3 D1 and it was INTENSE!! I had to take several breaks, but I loved the workout! L2 kicked my butt every day and did not get easier. I just think each level is "different." Two days ago my friend came over because he wanted to try the shred with me. I did L1 with him, and it was a breeze...it made L3 that much more of a shocker! lol0
-
Level 3 Day 1 CHECK! and bree I'm with you I LOVED the workout too! Level two was yucky but this one was great!0
-
Level 3 Day 3 Down. I'm really loving level 3, and I can't believe I'm only one week away from being done with the 30 Day Shred! I think I'm actually going to miss it!0
-
I am glad that L3 sound better. I only have a few days left to go on L2 and I am not loving it at all!0
-
I just finished day3/level 2. I thought I was going to get through the whole workout with no modifications until I got to the second set of plank jacks and double jump rope. But I am getting there. I feel terrific. I'm especially loving the plank oblique twists. I can even balance during the quad stretch on the cool down without holding on to anything or tipping over.
Thanks everyone for the love and support. And knowing that it get easier everytime. I'll definitely be on level 2 for the rest of the month. Thinking that by labor day I can move on to level 3. I didn't quite get it done in 30 days, thinking I'll continue it through September. I am more dedicated to the program and the process now. Anyone else going to continue after August?0 -
L3 D4 done. My roommate comes tomorrow so hopefully that won't affect my ability to Shred. Today my protein intake is WAY low, which makes me sad because what's the point in working out if my body can't build muscle?! I've got to work out making sure I get enough protein. I'm making goals for myself for level 3: finish jumping lunges without taking any breaks, get my legs up higher for those rockstar kicks, and put more effort into the ab work.
Does anyone else have any goals for the level they're on?0 -
so far i am loving L3. everything feels sooooo effective, its great!0
-
I just finished day4/level 3. I'm feeling a little behind. I wish I was on level 3
But I feel great, I feel strong. I know I will get to level 3 if I continue to work hard. Thanks for all the inspiration!0 -
Done with L3D5. I can't believe I only have five days left! I managed to take no breaks tonight, though I did kind of half-*kitten* those jumping lunges. At least I didn't stop! I still need to work on doing the ab exercises better. I'm having a hard time keeping my stomach in the ground, or, as Jillian says, my belly button in my spine. I used to have this problem in Pilates too, I couldn't hold my stomach in while doing the exercises and breathing at the same time. I'll keep trying though!0
-
I took two days off. TWO DAYS!! And I didn't even mean to. School started and it's been tough adjusting to my new routine, so I've only completed L3 D2 today. But it felt great! Today my mother-in-law commented that I look thinner. She didn't even know I had been working out.
I'd also like to point out that all 6 pounds lost on my ticker are because of the shred. I had just joined MFP at the end of July and jumped on this challenge when I saw it (thanks sngnyrslp!!), so any success I have so far has been counting calories and shredding (almost) every day! I haven't measured since day one, though, and I'm excited to see those results.
Keep it up, everyone! We're almost done!0 -
I took yesterday off because I was so exhausted, and I knew I wouldn't have been able to give Jillian 100%. Just finished L3D6, after walking for forty minutes at the gym. All in all, I had a great workout day! I hope everyone else is doing well, too!0
-
Getting ready for day 5/level 3. I'm still a little behind, seeing most of you are well into level 3. I'm just trying to tough it out. Was looking for a little inspiration before I got started. Looks like the month is winding down. Where did August go? Well I am ready for September. Are any of you going to continue to shred through September? I'd love to continue to be a part of it.
Bree, you are my ray of hope! When are you going to report your inches lost? Getting a compliment always feels good. take it with stride. you deserve it.0 -
L3D7 done! Since I got the Shred out of the way so early, I might hit the gym later. we'll see! How's everyone else's monday going?0
-
sngnyrslp, I feel the same way. I'm going to drop by my daughter's school and then head to the gym for about 30 to 45 minutes.
I'm starting to get bored with level 2 shred, but I know I'm not ready to move on to level 3, maybe one more week
Good luck everyone, we're at the home stretch, keep shredding.

I'm really slacking on L3. I just completed D3. I can't believe this month is practically gone. One more day. Although I didn't complete the shred in the 30 days, I'm still proud of myself for sticking to this. I'm going to continue to shred after tomorrow as well as switch it up with another at-home workout. I'm so jealous of those of you who can shred AND have time to hit the gym.
Great work everyone! I'm anxious to see all of the positive results :-)0 -
L3D8 Done!! Only two days left! I'm really looking forward to weighing and measuring myself on Friday!0
-
Level 3 Day 9 Done! I miss you all!! I hope everyone's doing okay and some of you are still Shredding!0
-
Level 3 Day 9 Done! I miss you all!! I hope everyone's doing okay and some of you are still Shredding!
You are doing really well and I really do admire your commitment and hard work. I hope you get the results you deserve.
I have been shredding but not everyday. I finally got to L3 yesterday and it is tough. I stopped posting on here because I wasn't able to do it everyday but I read the thread everyday just to see how everyone else is doing.
Well done!0 -
FINISHED THE SHRED LAST NIGHT!
I'll do measurements sometime today and post them up here. Don't quit, everyone, the feeling of accomplishment that comes with finishing the Shred is fantastic!! You can do it!0 -
