You always hear how women dig a guy in a band. But I don't really think so. I was in a band in high school, and I still never had a date. When I tried to use it to my advantage, it generally went like this:

Me: "Hey, wanna come hear my band Friday night?"

Her "Maybe, what's the name of your band?"

Me: "Marching"

Her: *walks away*

Chicks dig musicians. Well except the bass player. Poor *kitten* always gets left behind...
OF course the drummer is still packing his **** while the rest of the guys are in the van already. Guitar pickers gotta unplugg and pack up....
This is why the front man gets all the *****, he's just gotta drop the mic and leave....

Do you know how many free drinks the simple saying "I'm with the band" gets you?
    It's a beautiful thing.

Smart enough to figure out six strings and a fret board is as good as a fat wallet and a mercedes!
12 strings are better. Mad finger skills. Chicks LOVE mad finger skills...

musicians are hot. depending on the popularity of the band, the emotional availability of its members varies too. but the physical availibility usually is there ;) ah, my younger days!

@ Beer Shark...there was no Mercedes and yes the ability to play was actually quite impressive

@ 1PatientBear How did you know?!

There's something really sexy about watching a man play guitar. Not acoustic. That's for *kitten*.

But beware ladies. I've dated a few guitar players and I've found that a lot of them can be man children.

    Not all. But some.

Depends how famous your band is.
  • No, cause every time we'd have sex he'd crowd dive onto me.

I LOVE musicians. If they're talented musicians (and not an *kitten*), I'd be all up on that.

Favorites: Singer (if good), Drummer, or Guitarist (any, including bass)

This. And depends on the style of music you play. You won't get chicks playing death metal, even though it takes more talent to play that than just about anythng else.

I usually go for the bass players or the drummers. But to be honest, I'm not interested in the flock of groupies, so I probably won't bother trying to engage in conversation.

I also tend to have a lot of trouble talking to people about music, because I am very passionate about it and I'm sort of an elitist when it comes to specific genres. (ie I don't care for people who want to trash on an entire genre with no good support for that.)

Never really worked too much for me, although I did meet my partner of 10 years through my band... so I guess it only needed to work once?

Naw, we played whatever the band director picked out for our show that year. Like my junior year, we did a Beatles show. Chicks dig the Beattles. Maybe I was doing it wrong...

See, I see where a lot of you are saying drummers. I was a drummer. Snare drum, to be more specific. I marched the hell out of that snare drum!

I have dated a few guys in a band. I was in one of the bands WITH one of the guys. BUt my experience has been, unless the girl is JUST as into the band as the guy is, it's kind of a pain in the *kitten*... Girl often takes 2nd best.

if being in a band doesn't get you laid then just give up and start dating professionals.
  • If the guy is Geddy Lee, yeah. :)

I had the misfortune of dating a guy in a band when I was 19 and stupid.

Found out later that he cheated on me with no fewer than 9 other girls. Promptly got tested and swore off guys in bands.
