Do women really go for guys in bands?

  • I went for an operatic tenor.

Musicians are the same, no matter the genre.

Exception: Collegiate a capella. Those guys can make sweet music with me any day. I don't care if they get me in treble. I'll follow them right off a clef.

I was a dj AND on the radio... I can tell you that it wasn't being on the radio that filled my dance card.

Even when I was a teenager in the 90's and loved going to local punk & ska shows, I may have found some of the musicians attractive but I didn't want to date them because seriously...who wants a partner who has so many social obligations and is "all about the music"? I'd rather date a guy who's all about me.

Both my ex and current husband are musicians. An interest in music shows a creative side to a person. Poets, writers, dancers, and artists all have a pretty easy time with finding dates as well.

Mathematicians and computer coders have a harder time in the social arena, it seems.

I'm a girl IN a band, I usually get asked which of the guys I'm with before we play and hanging around, the shock on their faces when I pick up a bass and start singing is priceless.

I get a lot of guy interest but I'm with the drummer. My brother is the guitarist and doesn't get much female attention either. I think my presence puts girls off, I'm very tomboy-ish and feisty and have all the guy banter (kinda gotta get used to it in the music scene, very male dominant)

When I was younger I went for guys in bands. Most of my previous boyfriends have been in bands or been a musician of some kind.

If you want to be bored to death and never get to dance, date a guy in a band.

If you're dating them, you're doing it wrong.

I dated a guitar player of a Haitian boy-band. Their name was Papillion translated "Butterfly" He had a small peen and could not hold his note.

LMAO, only one of my ex's played instruments. So there is that. Is it a prerequisite? nope.

In my opinion it is like just another skill, you got it cool, you don't cool. I am more into personality and humor. :flowerforyou:

Depends on how talented the guy is. For me any guy who is smart/talented in any way is very very attractive.

    Yes.

I played guitar and bass for fun, though professionally I was a classical string bassist. Women really liked both, though the ones who went for Mozart and Beethoven were traditionally a bit older.

I don't care if a guy can play the guitar or the tuba. I just likes 'em nerdy and dirty!

if a woman wants you solely because you're in a band, there is a high probability that she is a *kitten*.

You have to pay a *kitten* for sex. No thanks, I spent 8 years paying for sex. Most people called it marriage.

I was never in a band. No musical talent whatsoever. I did have some business sense though. I used to hire bands as a promoter and that kinda worked for me.

I was the singer in an indie band full of guys when I was in college and they were all insecure *kitten* with substance abuse problems and none of them could ever get laid. Not saying every guy ever in a band is like this but that was just my experience.
  • Yes they do, specially guitar players, at least they did in HS

Payment can always come in the form of "The Herps" It does not always have to be monetary ;)

My girlfriends are all giddy about guys who play guitars..not me though. We could be sitting around the campfire drinking or at a party and if some dude busts out his guitar I could not be more turned off.
