Women who grunt when lifting weights...

Hello Folks,
I know there have been many a discussion about "grunts and lunk alarms" for people lifting weights, but it's always mainly focused on guys grunting. I have no issues with people grunting in the gym, it's genuine struggle, so whatever you need to do to get that weight to move you gotta do. What I've noticed is that not many women grunt in the gym, well at least the gym I go too, and even in video's online that I watch.

I myself grunt when lifting, at least on the second to last and last reps, I grunt or let out some kind of noise, lol. I think it's fine and not bothersome, because it's not loud and disruptive, but it's noticeable to those around me.

My question to you is, what is your opinion of women who grunt when lifting?

My set typically goes like this..rep1-4 good, breathe in, breathe out..5-6 louder breathing, grunting, or a small shout put weight down..pace a little and shake it off and get back to business... I get weird looks, :ohwell: doesn't stop me though.

Just wondering. :flowerforyou:

I don't have an opinion on it because I don't care. I grunt and couldn't give a poop less what anyone else thinks about it.

Good grief. Who cares??? Just do what you need to do. I grunt when I lift, especially if I'm going for a new max or something like that. I don't really give a damn who notices or cares. That's their problem.

I sometimes grunt a bit when I am struggling to finish the last few reps of a set. It's a natural thing.

Yep, it's something I do when I am struggling to get those last reps in. No one around me cares as we are all in the same situation. I actually find the sounds seductive if I pay enough attention to them. Primal.

    QFT

My 6 year old even told me that if I make a lot of noise when I'm exercising, I'm usually in a WAY better mood for the rest of the day. Win. Win.

Noise maker here, too. Oh and I have been known to spit my gum straight up in the air while lying on the bench and pushing out the last few reps. :-) THAT is funny. I had a nice fella next to me try to pick it up and give it back to me off his shoe. Lol.

it's a natural sound. Some people just hide it like many things.. Like my thoughts on this matter

I can take the grunting any day. It's the farts that annoy me.
