   Oh, happy day……I got to walk with my friend who is so much fun to be with….we walked and talked for almost two hours on a section of the Olympic Discovery Trail that was new to me. Some of it went through an area where eagles often nest in the trees…we didn’t see any eagles but it was exciting to think that they might be there. Brandy and Sasha wanted to walk a lot and sit with us a lot and Bernie got in either my lap or Jake’s every time we sat down……they really missed us.

:flowerforyou: Jake’s doctor’s appointment yesterday was to go over his blood test results and all was good. We were sad to find out that our doctor is going to start working exclusively with geriatric patients in nursing homes and assisted living homes and making house calls. There is a huge senior population here and compared to a lot of people, we are still babies. It has been said of our town that it is where old people go to visit their parents. There is a new woman doctor in the practice that he recommended so we’ll switch to her. I’ll see him one more time next month when I go to have my cholesterol prescription renewed.

:flowerforyou: Michele, there are lots of things you can do with hand weights or ankle weights while watching TV……when walking I don’t worry about my pace. I just keep moving and stop when it pleases me. Unless you’re trying for a target heart rate or calculating calories burned, it doesn’t really matter. I carry a pedometer and try to get the numbers as high as possible.

 Susan, your eating on your trip sounds awesome…..learning to say no to bread, butter, dessert,, fancy sauces, etc. is so freeing……..don’t panic if the scale has bad news, even the best restaurant food probably has toooooooo much sodium and you the scale may show fluid retention that might take as much as five days to eliminate.

Greetings vitamin F pals! Lots going on today. Went to work and got tons done. Then the carpet lady called and said our carpet is no longer made, so we have to pick something else for the basement. I nearly had a breakdown when we went there and nothing was similar. Plus they had no idea that the installation was Thursday and none of this carpet is in stock. We ended up taking about 15 samples home and are trying some things that are similar and some that are totally different. The basement is downstairs (well duh!) and we keep the door to it closed, plus the stairs butt up against vinyl, so it doesn’t really have to match. I think we have narrowed it down to three choices and will look at them again tomorrow in the sunlight.

Then interestingly, DD#1 called to ask if she could pick up DD#2 and so she did and took her out for a little snack and dropped her off. Her BF was out with some friends pulling up some carpet, so she stayed for dinner and just left at about 9. Very pleasant.

Michele: you are so creative! I loved reading about how you put your costume together

Barbie: you’re right about obsessing over food. I was doing so well until the diabetes diagnosis now I obsess and think about how many carbs in this, what should I have for my snack, do I really need a snack. It drives me crazy but I’m sure I will figure it out.

Joyce; I had to smile when I read that sometimes you have fudge; I remember the story about you buying fudge on sale not too long ago!

Secretchef: where in NE are you? I am in Papillion and Vicki is from Grand Island. Were you in the tornadoes the other night?

Rita; 600 pound loss! Way to go! Actually the tech staff emailed me back and gave me directions to edit entries…pretty easy…so I just edited it and gave away my 100 pound loss!

Renny: hope you feel better soon. Barbie talks about limiting decisions too!

Sylvia: I think your dog was talking to our neighbors last night!

Jfenner: my daughters from Russia love their pierogies but I have fooled them with Mrs. Smiths’ frozen ones!

Janemartin; glad to hear your friends are doing better.

Heather: lane rage??? I had to smile! We do our taxes in October too, but here in the US we are supposed to have them done in April!

Patceoh: glad your medical reports were good!

Joyce: we have a bowflex weight machine in our gym at home. I do their 30 minute “better body” workout three times a week.

    Vicki: great nsv!!!

    Suzy; I love nyc too!

Well I’m getting sleepy so I know I have missed people, but I’m going to head to bed. Take care everyone. Meg from Omaha

:drinker: Feeling a lot better today, and hope even better tomorrow after a better night sleep. SLEEP. What an amazing gift. I have been learning that sleep deprivation contributes significantly to weight gain. No wonder. All I want to do is eat ! when I am tired.

:flowerforyou: Michele - thanks so much for your lovely good wishes. I admire your approach to life so much and how you describe all your ups and downs. I just want you to know that, because I know things are not always easy for you.

:flowerforyou: Heather - procrastination. I saw a book on that once. then I did not buy it due to procrastination.

I wish I could say I was happy in my work but I am not really. I was downright bored today, because I can produce so much more than anyone else. I know management is so much more in line with my personality, but wth. Life is what life gives sometimes.

I visited my DD today. Lil toddler was having a nap so we had nice little visit with just the 2 of us at lunch time.

Later tonight son#2 is coming home. So, who knows how long we'll be up.

Last Saturday my mom had a wee little "episode". She's 90 and the "episodes" are getting more frequent. Some day I will get the call. Yet that is life too, isn't it.

    g'night for now

Well I did my walk again tonight, against my husbands wishes but did it. I am hoping that the more times I walk and come home safely he will feel better about it. All of the blocks in our subdivision back up to one street so none of them are actually through streets. There about 5 blocks I think and our street is the first one. So I walk down to the end of my street, all the way down the one that we all back up on and then back up. I do it twice. It's 1.3 miles. Yesterday it was 43 minutes and tonight 38 minutes!!!! I checked my pedometer and combined with the steps that the bike registers as steps I did a total of 13,129. Now I know what I ride on the bike isn't actually steps but according to where I set the seat at the pedometer registers them as steps. Last week my weight was 189 pounds but most of this week I have been at 192! I absolutely do not want to have to register a gain this week. I have worked so hard at getting less than 189. One thing I have wondered about ia that I don't eat back my calories. My dietician, and she is a diabetic dietician and not jsut a nnutritionist, says to keep what I take in at around 1300 and what I exercise off is just icing on the cake. But the way I see it is that since I exercised off well over 700 calories off today and I take in 1300 calories then I only have a net of 600. And I know that is starvation. Maybe I need to have another conference with her. I think she said Medicare pays for 4 a year.

Thanks for all your suggestions on what you do for strength training. I hope to get mine started soon. The wellness manager never called me back today so I guess I need to take the bull by the horns and see what I can get done.

I went to yoga today, and DH and I went grocery shopping. This evening I had a city advisory committee meeting and I still need to call in to see if I have jury duty tomorrow. The committee meeting was interesting, but I’m new and I have a LOT to learn about how things are done and also about the other committee members. I made my jury duty call in, but there wasn’t a new message. It was still yesterday's message, so I guess there is no trial tomorrow.

Vick1157: I haven’t decided whether I like the new meds. Still evaluating. Thanks for asking.:flowerforyou:

Meg: Regarding crock-pot stew, I add water only if I think it is needed near the end of the process. Generally I don’t need to add very much, if any. It is really too easy to end up with soup.

Secretchef: Trying again and again is the best way to be successful. I think you have what it takes.:flowerforyou:

Patceoh: Congratulations of positive test results for both you and your DH.

Renny: Your comments about wanting to eat when you’re tired helps me understand how I gained so much weight while working full-time plus and commuting 2 hours a day.

Sylvia: You’re past the halfway point according to your ticker. You can start to plan any time.

Gail: I think you could get away with D*ck’s. We’ll see if this posts.

Michele: I am always impressed that you’re able to cook fabulous things without gorging on them.

Barbie: I think it is wonderful that you live in a place where old people go to visit their parents. It must be a very healthy place to live.

Joyce: I’m impressed with your walking. Good for you!:flowerforyou:

Good morning. I hope everybody is doing well this morning.

Gail - My mother went to the College of the Ozarks in the early 40's when it was called the School of the Ozarks. Then it was for mostly Indian kids (she was half Cherokee), and she thought it was more like a forced labor camp than a school. It was during WWII and I think they produced canned goods and things like that for the war. She said there was very, very little schooling going on. She did not have good memories of that place. It has improved greatly in the last 60 years. I go there sometimes for ceramic workshops and lectures and it's a really nice facility. Beautiful area too.

I got all the way up to the Y yesterday and discovered that I had forgotten my swim bag, so I didn't have my suit. Rather than go all the way home and back again (about 20 miles) I just stayed and did extra cardio on the machines. And I ate way over my 1200 calories yesterday - 1355. It was within my exercise calories, but this morning I was up .6 pounds. Grrr.

Bruno's foster mom sent me a funny picture yesterday of him trying to climb over her shoulder in the car to get to her lap. That is so like him! He has not changed a bit since we brought him home. Silly little guy. So determined to find a lap.

    Have a great day, ladies.

Can I ask what you all do for your strength training??? Some of you talk about as much as an hour. So what do you do? Maybe if I knew I wouldn't be so afraid of participating also.

    Joyce

:flowerforyou: Joyce, I got a book called "Strong Women Stay Young" that has a lot of information about why strength training is important and includes a simple workout program that can be done without getting down on the floor, can be started without any special equipment, and can be made more challenging by buying a set of ankle weights and some dumbbells. that's how I started and I have since added planks and pushups and some other things that were suggested by other women on this thread.

 I'm not willing to spend the money on a gym membership because I am away from home too much already, so I love that I can do my strength training at home and Jake can watch TV with me while I work out.

    1433479le3q4a7az6.gif2157045gp85zev8ri.gif1461351h0otf8hco5.gif

Thanks, Barbie! I just ordered this book.

Oh, and thanks also to Joyce for asking the question about strength training. I keep thinking I will reactivate my gym membership, but really, if I won't do it at home then I doubt I'll go to the gym either. I know that strength training is what I need to bump this up a level and get off this plateau that I am afraid will turn into a re-gain, but for some reason I keep resisting.

Today was the monthly weigh-in for the Biggest Loser contest at work and I have lost 1 whopping pound in a whole month! There is one teacher who is gung-ho to win this thing and works out 3 hours a day. Well, I don't have 3 hours a day to work out so there is no way I'm going to win. Competition has never been a motivating factor for me, so I need to get over my "what's the use" attitude and do what I can to be as healthy as can.

Enough whining. Hope everyone is having a good day!

GOOD Morning!!! It's going to be another gorgeous day in Dallas and I am loving the Autumn temps! With this runaway thread I am starting with the day and moving on...

Grandmalle, I sure hope the Florida sunshine brightens your spirits and brings healing for your heel. You have already had a full day and still going to work. That's quite an accomplishment and something to smile about.

Tina, huge fan of fried chicken myself; my favorite! so I always enjoy it when I splurge.

Sylvia, I am pretty sure we all growl at that scale when we work out so hard and it still goes up but it will come down. You are doing a good work! :flowerforyou:

DKB, congrats on the 1lb loss!!!! that is something to celebrate.

Today is my grandson's day and he is taking his morning snooze which doesn't last long so I am gonna scoot so I can get something done before he demands all my kisses.

May you find a blessing in all that you do today.

    Peace

I dropped another pound, and now I have two pounds four ounces to go until I reach my original goal. I might actually make it by my MFP anniversary! I’m starting to build a before and after photo file on my desktop. I haven’t had many pictures taken of me over the years due to chronic camera shyness, but there will be enough, I think. It is time for me to begin learning about maintenance. I’d love advice on how to make the transition from those of you who are successfully maintaining. BTW, I plan to stick around for the foreseeable future once I reach my goal. I love this group.

Great 'Hump Day' to everyone! So many posts, so little time! Well, yesterday after work my DH told me it was leftovers for dinner. That was OK until he cut up some beef we had left over and kept after me to finish it to get rid of the leftovers! I had half a roll with some of the beef and horseradish on top which was good. When I finished that, he insisted I eat the rest of the meat! Ate too much! Had that with his deli-sh sauteed spinach. I was planning on walking after dinner, but then got a sales call about a book, while on the phone with them, my neighbor showed up for a while, then while she was there, got another call from my CT realtor to go over the inspection! Well by the time all that was done, it was after 8 pm and I go to bed at 9 so no walk! I will walk in a bit, there is a 1 mile walking trail around the building I work in so will do that to kick start my energy. No energy this morning.

Jfenner141 - We will have to make a date with Grandmallie to meet once I am in CT and settled! Bet it will be fun! My DH is Italian and we have the traditional Italian feast on Christmas Eve. All seafood (7 kinds), fried veggies (the only time I indulge in these!), and pasta. No other types of meat. It will be great to be able to get real seafood again (only frozen and special order here).

Jmkmomm - Some of us on this group did a couple months of squat challenges to help kick-start strength training. It was fun trying all the different variations we came up with. Maybe when I'm settled after my move I will start this again.

Katyszoo - Congrags on getting settled in school. I am working on my second master's from an online school. Takes dedication and organization to get through it. I enjoy going to school and think I will go to school as long as they let me and I can!

Barbiecat - "Strong Women Stay Young" sounds like a great book. I will have to remember it because I don't want to buy it now and just have one more thing to pack. I don't go to a gym for a couple of reasons, not sure I would go if I joined, and my DH gets lonely/jealous when I do something without him. Very dependent but sounds the opposite. Much like grandmallie's DH.

Exermom - Some TV exercises: squats, standup/sitdowns, extend arms and hold out as long as you can, same with legs, stretches.... The "Master Your Metabolism" audiobook by Jillian Michaels you spoke of, do you like it? I think I will look into that as it can go on my phone. Save, save, save, and backup, backup, backup, two very wise recommendations for computer use!

Megblair - Have you spoken to a diabetes dietician? Most insurances cover at least one visit a year. Mine told me 45 - 60 carbs per meal with protein and to aim for 15 grams of carbs with some protein for snacks. She had me on a 1400 calorie diet and never mentioned about the exercise calories. I'll have to call her on that.

Grandmallie - Have fun on your trip to Florida! What did Dell do to fix your laptop?

Well back to work for me now!

    Hello, ladies,

Rained yesterday, raining today, and supposed to rain and blow through Sunday due to a low sitting off the coast..........YUK!!!! I hate, hate, hate this weather and my mood matches it. And the one channel we lose with the wind in this direction is The Weather Channel..........

Had a volunteer meeting last night and got roped into helping with something I'm very much not in agreement with..........Baaaaaaaad move.

Also, stood up yesterday afternoon, went to take a step (guess my foot was asleep) turned my ankle and down I went. Ankle is swollen, black and blue, and quite painful
so ice, elevate, Tylenol.........and once again, no exercise. Toying with going for an xray but that would involve going out and driving in this hateful weather and it's my left foot. I've already eaten more than a third of my calories so that's not looking good either.

Since I'm "stuck" here, I'll sit and make phone calls to try to drum up financial support/sponsorships and media coverage for the race next month; hope I can manage to be semi-pleasant to these people..........I'll try one and see if I can fake it.

Since I'm full of whines today, let me add this---picked up my dh's laundry basket to do some of his laundry and found the last batch of clean folded clothes at the bottom...............the man was too lazy to put them away and just tossed the dirty stuff on top!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.......................

Sorry, just not a good day; I got nothing but complaints for y'all. Hope you are having better days than me.

Well, a muddle of a day. Started with my friend, one of my old school friends I am going to Bath with, ringing me to tell me that her best friends had committed suicide together. He had been very ill with spinal cancer and had planned this for a long time, but his wife had said she didn't want to live sithout him and was going with him. She was fit and only 70 or so. Last week my friend and others were called to their house to say goodbye, along with family. The next morning they had done it.
My friend has had her mother, father and brother die in the last year - her brother in awful circumstances. Her sister killed herself many years ago. She has had a lot of mental troubles herself and I am amazed she is keeping it together. She is still coming to Bath, but is prepared to rush off to the 'woodland' funeral if it is then.
Of course the police had to be called by the doctor and there will be an inquest, but they planned it all very carefully and left full documentation. It's just a shame about the wife. She had just had a new granddaughter.
I sent my friend a ' Smilebox' collage of us girls to say I'm thinking of her. It must be so hard.

Today there has been a flurry of emails from my friends re organizing things. I have booked two nice restaurants for Monday and Tuesday night. I don't think I am going to go to the spa. But the others are welcome to. I can't see the point in getting wet if I can't have a vigorous swim. Just me.!!

DH is at his therapist's. He was awake this morning worrying about the side effects of the drugs. Oh well.

My sourdough is rising, my yoghourt is in the oven - (warm)!!!! Tonight we're having a sort of seafood stew with a bag og frozen scallops, squid and prawns, mixed with my red pepper and tomato soup with peas and beans thrown in. A bit of rice on the side for DH. It's not a recipe, but should be yummy.

Michelle- I have the same migrating saddlebags as you! My waist is all jelly and cottage cheesy. But at least I haven't got the saddlebags any more. I had them even when I was a skiiny teen and hated them!

Susan - what great food choices! Much better than what was available in Rome. I wish I could transfer my last few lbs to DH, who is super skinny!

Joyce - just start very small. I was doing only 2 or 3 of some things when I started, or using tiny weights. I had no confidence, especially in my knees. I gingerly did one or two squats, with no weights, using the video on Utube. Now I do 28 with a 16 lb weight.!!! I certainly never do an hour - 20 mins on a good day. You can just do a few of the easiest exercises and build up slowly as you feel your confidence growing. It's not necessary to be Superwoman.  r

Love to all, Heather in getting chillier Hampshire UK

PS - yannie jannie - please get out of the thing you shouldn't have volunteered for. That sort of thing eats at you. Make that call.

Well it's in black and white now. instead of 43 pounds lost it's 41 pounds lost. Most of my measurements were the same except my thighs which was down 1/2 inch. I am very glad of that. As far as the weight, it is what it is. Something to work on.

Heather I am so sorry about your friends. It seems like they loved each other and worked out the plan together. It also seems as if she herself didn't have a healthy view of dying, no one to look up to of her loved ones to give her the kind of strength to help her husband go through this. Enjoy Bath. It sounds so wonderful, just like I am stepping back into a Jane Austen book.

Grandmallie enjoy your vacation. it is so strong of you that you are prelogging you food for tomorrow. Now that is strength. I usually have a small bag of munchies, illegal, by my side mainly because I'm bored.

So sorry for being MIA the last couple of days. DH was sick and of course, I came down with the bug on Monday. Feeling much better today. I didn't get to read all the posts, but want to welcome all the newbies that I missed.

Sue in TX - I will send you a few of my favorite Crock Pot fixings.

Sue in SD - Enjoy your last week off.

Meg - If I didn't sear my roasts in olive oil before putting into crock pot, they would be dry. And when placing in crockpot, I only put very little liquid in the pot, keep the temp on low and place the fatty side of the pot roast up so juices would drain down throughout the meat. I also use a bit of meat tenderizer on the roast too. Not a big fan of roasts, but do enjoy putting frozen pork chops in the crock pot and a whole chicken with seasoning.

Secretchef - We are all here for you. I think posting on this site and getting the support from others going through the same battles help.

Sylvia - Now why didn't I think of shoes as an incentive. I love that idea. I usually buy myself something small as an incentive (every 10-15 lbs). Usually an inexpensive pair of earrings that I've seen or a bracelet.

Heather- When I spent 2-3 weeks at a time in the UK for almost 3 years, I enjoyed watching some of your television shows. I loved watching The Great British Bake Off. One of my travel-mates was hooked on My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and one that I think was called Embarrassing Bodies.

Suzy - We are on the 10/26 sailing of Celebrity Summit. We are so looking forward to it. Would have been nice to been on a sailing with a fellow MFP. Do you sail often?

Better get caught up with the housework that I didn't get to these last two days. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Well, blew it for lunch. I just need to stay away from fast food! Too much to do, and not taking time to prepare my lunch. My fault. It's been this way all week! My October goal was to maintain, and I hope I can at least do that! Slow and steady wins the race. I will take the bad with the good. Been at this too long.

    Good afternoon ladies,

I haven't had time to read all the posts for today, I promise I will when I get home. I just had to come and share with you all. I decided yesterday that I needed to contact my brother as my sister posted on facebook that there were legal issues that needed to be settled regarding my mother's death.

I found an email address online for my brother at his work and sent an email from a generic hotmail account. I haven't seen or spoken to him in about 20 years. I had no idea how this was going to go down. I got a response this morning and it was far better then I had even hoped. Here is a bit of what he said:

"When I opened my email and saw this, I almost fell off my chair – in a very, very good way. It is so good to hear from you. I don’t even know where to start. Firstly, I will NOT share any of this and fully understand and respect your wishes. My relationship with Mom has always been strained and I really haven’t had a relationship with our sister. My kids are kinda creeped out by her (there words, not mine). We were trying to get a hold of you after Mom died, just to let you know. What number can I call you on? I would like to talk... and do need your help on a couple of things.

From your brother who does care about you and misses you."

It brought tears to my eyes. I sent him my home phone number and am curious about what he needs my help with. I am really hoping that he calls. It would be nice to reconnect.

Joyce, I was so intimidated about strength training as well but my Y has a "beginners" area and that's where I go and use the machines. I'm hoping that my session on Saturday with a personal trainer that I'll make sure I'm doing everything I can do and not hurt my knees.

I have to get back to work and then off to the Y again tonight for strength training.

Good Morning. My goals for October is to lose 8 more pounds. This is my favorite time of year (Pumpkin everything) :). It will be a struggle to stay away from the sweets. I travel 500 miles a week for work so eating while driving has always been a past time. I am working on just singing with the radio (thank goodness the windows are up) and chewing gum. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

I also drive a long way everyday and recently discovered audiobooks. Now i listen to my fav authors on my way to work and home, also when I exercise. I no longer dread the drive like I used to.

Good Afternoon, Ladies. I can't believe that I have basically wasted this whole morning! Well, I did a few chores and did finish the book I was reading, but I haven't done anything more productive than that! It feels wonderful. However, sitting and reading is also a trigger activity for mindless binging, and I caught myself headed for the pantry more than once. Thankfully, I caught myself.

We are having a wind event here in Green Valley, and the wind is coming from the SE. That means all of you up in the Phoenix area may want to batten down the hatches because a Haboob could be on its way. They have posted the dust storm warnings for the entire state until 8 tonight. I know I am staying off I-10 today! Up north I used to be leery of driving in white-out snow storms, down here we have to watch for brown-out dust storms! I guess there is no perfect place.

Rita- I would most certainly support your computer repair business! I really am a "paper and Pen" type gal; but I am trying to keep up w/ the world!

Megblair- I probably would have dropped in a faint if I thought I had gone back up the scale that badly! However, a good laugh is always welcome, right?

Sylvia- Oh, please, post a picture of the first treasure that comes off your potter's wheel! That's one more artistic skill I wish I had!

Michele- I wish I had your dedication and drive to exercise! I liked your advice for Sylvia to buy herself something nice now, but I understand why she doesn't. I still hate shopping! The thought of trying things on almost twists my tummy. I know that I am down 41 pounds, but the fear is that is somehow isn't actually true? I don't know, I just hate clothes shopping.

Sandy- What a wonderful response from your brother! It must have just made your heart swell. The relationship rebuilding might be awkward at first, but what a wonderful event for both of you.

Well, I had better go and do something, anything! I really can't justify just being a sloth today! Happy Hump Day!

The pool was crowded today with lap swimmers. Those men make such big waves they nearly drowned me. I got there early enough to get a lane, then several men came after me, looking for a lane, but I didn't give up mine till I was finished.

I met a nice young lady at the pool who had on really nice goggles. They were bigger than most swim goggles. Reminded me of ski goggles. Anyway, she told me where to get them and the name of them. I normally wear my regular eyeglasses because I don't see well without them, but I might consider wearing those. They were not prescription lenses though.

After the Y I went over toward my son's house. I called him on the phone and asked if he wanted to go to lunch with me. He said OK, and I said, "Good. I'm outside your house." So we went to Taco Bell and I had ONE crunchy taco, so I thought I did pretty well. When I took him home his father-in-law's car was parked outside his house, and he didn't want to go inside. He doesn't get along with the FIL because he is mean, mentally abusive, to Julie (son's wife). So we drove around a little and talked about it, then he said OK, I'd better go home and try to help her get rid of him, but when we went back, his FIL was just driving away. So he said he had better go in and pick up the pieces. I met the guy once at grand-daughter's birthday party, and he seemed a little creepy, but apparently there is a lot more going on with them. My son said she's been in therapy for years because of his abuse. Poor thing.

    Have a great evening.

Again starting on day 12 no time to go back where I was. Way back.

I had many letters stating I was chosen for jury duty. I always wait until last date on letter to mail it in.
Then it's to late. And that's fine by me. Who am I to judge. I'd be so afraid to help make a wrong conviction.

Enjoy your trip to Florida. It should take care of what's ailing you.

20 years is a long time. But i'm sure you will spike a relationship with your brother you need to.
After all you are family. Good luck.

    Pat
You are allowed you time sometimes. But sometimes we take a little to much but that's to make
up for the days we didn't have time.

Ok for my story now. I'm not as anxious to go to tops as I was last week. But I will be there with my gain. Darn I would have got a t-towel tonight had I put in a good week.
Got up this morning and said enough but that's to little to late. But might help for next week. lol.
Made an appointment with foot doctor. Made one with dietician. Only one not done is my doctor and that will be done tomorrow right after my blood work.
So there that's my story and i'm sticking to it.

    See you all lighter

Went to the Y, Renee wasn't in so I still don't have any program yet. I really need to see if they have a beginners program. I think that seems like a good idea since I would be with other people. That's gives some possible friends and when you are working with other people it sort of means accountability.

Went to a couple of consignment shops. One recommended by my sister and the other by my nephews wife. The one recommended by my sister has very upscale clothing. Some still have tags from the stores such as Macys. I am not going to pay $68 for a pair of used Gucci jeans. They had a lot of home furnishings and kids things and I may go back and buy something in that line. The other one was nice, very organized in sizes, not packed into racks, had nice changing rooms. I bought a pair of jeans, a short sleeve denim shirt that I will use as an over jacket. I have several tank tops I can wear with it. It is definetely a fall shirt as it has a scarecrow, pumpkins and lots of orange colors. Then I bought a shirt that doesn't fit well now although I could wear it. The 1X/16 shirts were to big for me and the L/14 didn't fit real well. But I will go back. I wish they ahd the more casual look I like. No Old Navy shirts:laugh:

Grandmallie, what is a haboob??? I assume it isn't good.

Sandy, great news about your brother. I am a big one on the importance of families.
