    I see that you have a wedding picture as your profile picture. Have you recently gotten married? This is more than likely why people are asking. They are expecting it and if they even remotely see a tiny belly that is what they will assume.

    Ya I got married in June. The funny thing is though, two were complete strangers!

    The last time someone asked me that, I said loudly without even thinking about it, "God, I hope not! I'm fifty-one!" Then EVERYONE turned around to stare. And my questioner actually ducked her head and put one hand up to her face as she scurried off. It was so delicious.

    And yes, even though it was delightful to maybe teach her never, ever to say that to anyone, I still felt like *kitten* afterwards. :-(

    But your bouquet makes me :-) again. I love your bouquet.

    =( I think it's just natural to be super mad and get defensive.

    Last time I was asked if I was pregnant, my girls were probably 16 or 17 years old (and I have a son that is two years older than they are). The girls and I were at a wedding and the person who asked was another guest that didn't know me from Eve... or Adam... or anybody else, for that matter. I smiled sweetly and replied, "No, I'm just fat!" The look of horror on her face was priceless. All I could do was shake my head and laugh as I walked away.

    That was 6 or 7 years ago and it took me until this past July to finally do something about it.

    When Im pregnant, Im going to make a bench press video with my big old belly, cause obv i wont stop lifting when im pregnant until Im not allowed to anymore. And if anyone asks me if im pregnant, im going to say no and start crying. Im also going to be one of those women that are like - dont you dare give me any baby clothes. I had to carry this person for a year - if anyone gets to dress him before he starts doing it himself, its ME.

    I wanted to die when a woman asked me when I was due one time a couple years ago. It’s like….WHO ARE YOU AND WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT IS APPROPRIATE TO ASK A STRANGER???

    Interesting. Maybe it's they type of clothes you are wearing? Do you wear a lot of shirts/dresses with empire waists? It's commonly a cut for Maternity wear, but can cross over into plus size, etc.

    I was thinking the same thing. When I was looking for maternity clothes for when I WAS pregnant, I remember being at a store thinking, "Wow, they have a huge maternity clothing section." Then I realized it was all these styles with Empire waists that were in style at the time.

    I got married less than two months ago and all people ask me now is when are we having kids. For a variety of reasons, my husband and I don't want any children, but if I try tell someone that, I get a dirty look that tells me I'm the worst person in the world. Even my doctor looked a little incredulous when I told her I didn't want to be a mom. I think everyone just expects you to become a baby machine once the ring is on the finger, but personally I am completely happy living the dream as a DINK (double income no kids)! To avoid the looks of disgust, I just tell people "soon" whenever I'm asked when I'm having kids. It shuts them up and puts the thought out of their heads for awhile.
