exercise videos. I freakin hate them. all of them. So I don't do them unless the weather outside is impossible (lightening or temperatures below -20C)

and lunges - my knees just won't have it. I've been trying to strengthen the surrounding muscles with other movements in the meantime.

I don't enjoy weight training nearly as much as I enjoy yoga, cardio and dancing. It's not awful though.

Had to chuck in kettlebell swings in here too.

My form is always off because I really have to concentrate hard on gripping them securely so that I don't accidentally fling them across the room and give someone a concussion. Nearly happened once, scared the crap out of my PT  My fingers end up all peeled & bruised up too.

Lovin' the replies, keep em coming!

No contest. I absolutely detest squats. I just find them so painful and exhausting. If I ever took over the world ....

Lunges. I have crappy knees and my ortho said don't do them (amongst other things pfft) but I do them anyway because I'm a stubborn fool. Reverse lunges and walking lunges feel better than regular ones at least.

Jumping jacks. I hiked the Grand Canyon but I can't handle jumping jacks. I think anything high impact is just to hard on me. Push-ups are horrible too but I still work on those but use the girly form with bent knees.

Bulgarian squats. Like lunges but more worser.
I have a love hate relationship with these, they are the exercise I do after BB squats and front squats, so it is like the shot in the head after the double tap in the chest...but so effective.

Hip abductor. Especially when people make eye contact mid-spread-eagle.

but for real tricep dips, still working on that.

Burpees. Those are just plain evil

    YES!!!!
  • I don't mind lunges. I have very weak arms and can't even do 1 push up which is so frustrating. My boyfriend laughs at this considering he can do a hundred where as I can do more sit ups :) No one is good at everything

I admit, I'm not a huge fan of jumping rope...I would rather run 5 miles with rabid grizzly bears chasing behind me than having to jump rope for 3 minutes straight.

I don't mind planks, but I warn anyone to build up to a minute so all your stabilizer muscles can adjust. I got rowdy challenging my fit roommate to last a minute and my lower back hurt for days

In on lunges, cause I keep falling the *kitten* over

the arm bike, the trainer insists I do it before any sort of lifting... longest 10 mins of my life.

thats rediculous. i mean, yeah, warm up, but moving the arms like that for 10 minutes? my rotator cuff would be screaming.

running, jump rope, push ups, and sun-gods are all good warm ups for upper body lifting day.
After shoulder surgery that is the first thing you do. When in therapy it's what you start with. Does loosen the joint but is so boring.

    Lunges.

When I was thin, I loved them. Now, I hate them but I do them anyway because lunges give you an awesome butt.

At this weight, I feel like I am going to fall over, that my form is wrong (even though my trainer says it looks textbook perfect), my arthritic left knee screams, and they make me feel hideously uncoordinated.

Oh, and step ups for the similar reasons (falling, knees, lack of coordination.)
