Cats and diets....

I put my two on an indoor cat food that is higher in protein than some others, my Kit Kat lost 2#'s (nearly 20% of his wt, nice, right?) I don't know how much Sweetie Cat lost because I didn't weigh him at the start (he wasn't 'seriously' overweight anyway) They get a measured amount per day and NO treats (occasionally I will give them water from tuna)
It's tough to listen to them cry for food and sometimes my Kit Kat acts as though he is starving (and he was when I rescued him, so undernourished he looks like a 6 month old)
Also, Vet Advice is recommended because you can't just put cats on diets, they can go into liver failure from a lack of food. (and yes, die from it)0 -
Are cat's themselves considered a lean source of protein? I didn't go shopping for me or the cat figured I'd just eat Mr. Pickles and kill two birds with one stone....no pun intended0
