Nov 16th. Today I am thankful for God's love and grace. He always knows what I want sometimes before I know. He sends me in directions that are best for me. He wraps His loving arms around me when I doubt myself, when I grieve my daughter's wreck of a marriage, divorce, death of all our parents. He shows His love when I wake up in the morning and I see the different seasons, feel the warmth of my cat sitting on my bed, sees the things that my Grand children have made for me. He gave me grace when I didn't deserve it. He just gave it to me and I know it is there forever. He put music in my life, He put all of you women in my life at a time when I felt I was going to be obese for the rest of my life. He knows me!!!!
Tomorrow weather is going to be pretty bad. I believe it was 8 years ago at about this time of year that we had an F5 tornado right here so we know the potential of this weather report and it can be bad. Or it might be just rainy, windy weather. So I made sure I got to the Y today just in case I can't tomorrow. It's hard for my body to get there 7 days a week. Got my 10 miles in in 59 minutes and 30 seconds!!!!!! :drinker: :drinker:  I can't do that every day but it's always my goal.

Rebel Renny- I was reading in some magazine that they have a treadmill with a desk attached now that would be something to think about huh?
well we went out to dinner, and I had a darn cheeseburger on a cheddar bun , but I did have raw veggies instead of fries,
I walked over 17,000 steps today . but I know the darn sodium is gonna catch up with me...
full moon out tonight, wonder if all the crazy's will be out. glad im all set and tucked in here..
will get my tail to the gym tomorrow since I race walked tonight0 -
Good evening, all,
Beautiful day here.....fairly sunny after rain during the night and temp about mid-60's; this after the sleet, snow flakes and temp low enough for a hard freeze during the week. No wonder lots of people are getting sick! The sunset was so pretty tonight, DH took a picture.
I have one or two more possible donations to check on but mostly finished with a total of approx. $500.00 for the race.
Sylvia..........I am so happy your procedure went well for you, sorry the wrist did not work out and you ended up with 2 bandages.
janemartin.........Wondered if that was Violet, see that you have posted that it is Leah........what a cutie!
Patc...........Congrats on your milestone of non-elastic pants!!!! WTG!!!
Rita.........Glad you are getting settled in Ct. Must let us know when you and grandmallie get together.
Heather..........Hope your DH had a more restful night. It's very insightful and amazing that you know him so well that you can pinpoint the triggers; my hat is off to you. Seeing the root is the first step often to taking away the power of the stressor.
I don't mind approaching businesses for donations; but I have a really bad taste about it when it comes to friends. I quit as a volunteer for a new venture in this area last winter because of the constant urging to turn over friend email lists etc.
My favorite cowboy show was Maverick.........and I loved James Garner in just about everything since.
Tina in Md..........Count me as an Asheville fan too!
Barbie............Awesome plank illustration!!!! Thanks for posting........must get back to planks; have not done any since I injured my foot.
Katla...........Your "take" on teachers both hs and college is spot on as far as I'm cncerned. I think hs teachers are under unrelenting pressure not only from parents but also adm. to "produce" and the number "passing" deserved or not is the measure they are judged by.
Vicki.........ditto on what everyone else said.........remember, his personal problems have nothing to do with the accident and you know nothing at all about his real mental, financial, or crimminal history..............document, document, document.
I made roasted butternut squash last night.............cubed, put in a baggie with evoo and maple syrup, about a t. each, sprinkled with cayanne and cinnamon, roasted 400 about 1/2 hr........................heaven!!!! Absolute heaven! I ended up licking the foil that I baked it on before throwing it out..........it was that good.
G'nite, ladies,

Vicki - I'm in agreement with everyone else, don't talk to him. It sounds like he's trying to get you to feel sorry for him so that maybe you won't sue him. Take it easy and be gentle with your body over the next few days. It must have been scary for both you & your GD. Prayers for both of you.
Today was a beautiful day, warm and sunny. I went to aquafit this morning. My DD had to work today so I went by myself. It was a full class and a really good workout. I needed that because I gained 1.5 lbs this week. I know I wasn't good with sodium this week so I'm not going to even think about it anymore. Next week will be better.
Tonight is our Santa Claus parade so they have closed off a lot of streets. I believe they actually call it the Festival of Lights :grumble: parade but let's be truthful Santa still is main attraction
I'm reading The pursuit of happiness and am really enjoying it. I've just started and have already started thinking about ways I can incorporate things in my life like decluttering my apartment.
Enjoy your evening!!

Hi ladies! They let me out of the hospital before 9am this morning, so we got back in time to get the dogs from doggie prison. They were so happy to be home. I slept for about 3 hours, which I needed because they don't let you sleep in the hospital. I wish somebody could explain to me why they have to take blood at 3 am, EKG at 4 am, and vitals every 30 minutes or so. Oh well, I can rest at home. They said that Plavix was not working for me, so they started me on a brand new one. We got the prescription filled at walgreens and I had sticker shock! Our copayment was $71! The insurance company paid $247. Oh my goodness! So, I came home and looked online and found the manufacturer offers a free month plus $50 off the monthly co-pay, so I printed off the cards and went back to walgreens. They actually credited my account for the free month. They were so nice! So, if you ever get a new prescription, check the manufacturers web page for coupons. This is going to save us over $600!
Vicki, I learned the hard way that when it comes to traffic accidents, people lie! Do not talk to him. Refer him to your insurance agent or lawyer, if you have one. My son was hit by another driver when he was a teenager (on my insurance) and she told him a sad story and begged him not to report the accident. Then she called the police and accused him of hit and run and claimed there were 3 kids in the car who were all injured. There were no kids in the car. If it hadn't been for a video camera at a convenience store she might have gotten away with it.
So, now I have to start all over again on my exercise program. I can't exercise at all for a week, then start back gradually. I'm going to start cardiac rehab again, and then go from there. So, my weight loss progress will slow down a lot. I was hoping to be under 200 by Christmas, but that's no longer realistic. Poo. But for now I'm happy, sitting in my recliner with my puppy sleeping on my lap. Life is good.

:flowerforyou: This has been an awesome day…dog walking alternating with heat, ice, watching figure skating on TV, and computer chores. Jake is gone for the day so I’ve been able to set my own schedule.
:flowerforyou: Vicki, I agree with everyone….this is the time to let insurance, medical, and law enforcement professionals sort out this mess for you while you take care of personal recovery.
:flowerforyou: Joyce, I, too, am grateful for all my electronic gadgets. Right now I’m using my computer to be in touch with you and all my other great friends from around the world and the US while I watch figure skating from France that’s been recorded on my DVR and I have my cordless phone and cell phone nearby so my friends and hubby can call me and I can call them.
:flowerforyou: Viv, I love the cold weather and I love all my cold weather clothes but I also love curling up by the fire or under a big pile of blankets.
:flowerforyou: DeeDee, it sounds like you really enjoy all the fun things about Christmas.
:flowerforyou: Jane, enjoy your weekend with your hubby.
:flowerforyou: Jb, we usually limit our salads to summertime so I won’t be joining your Salad Sistas but I’ll be eating lots of veggies---primarily the frozen ones.
:flowerforyou: Katla, I was inspired by the plank picture and I thought I’d be able to get back to them starting with 20 seconds but the sore muscles in my back told me a different story…..they seem to be central to holding the plank, so I guess that will have to wait.:brokenheart:
:flowerforyou: Renny, we had some of your wind here last night…..I agree with you about exercise on the floor…..it’s hard for me to get started but I do well once I get there.
:flowerforyou: Yanniejannie, your butternut squash sounds yummy:bigsmile:
:flowerforyou: Sandy, decluttering has always made me feel better…..even having a plan of putting five things away every time I get up from the computer.
:flowerforyou: Sylvia, my hubby went to cardiac rehab after his first stent and he learned so much that has continued to serve him well….best wishes for your continued recovery.

You are fortunate to catch up on your shuteye! I thought the same when I came home. But between the nurse's morning visits, the constant doctor's visits, and my husband's nighttime moans and nocturnal wanderings- I am exhausted! I think it will take a while to get my energy back! Glad to hear that you are home and doing better!0

Viv - around this time I usually do some crafts and then when we go to FL I get outside. Who did you get your laptop from? I figure -- if I can't use the coupons (for animal food), I can cut them out and maybe the Humane Society can use them. To be honest, I also give them expired coupons. Some stores might accept them because it's for the Humane Society.
Tina - this recipe (I've never made it before) calls for flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, butter, cream cheese, water and lemon juice. I'll give it a try. What's the worst that can happen? I have another recipe that is for a crumb crust, that one has no Crisco or lard in it, just butter
oh, I tried A LITTLE bit of that deep fried apple pie. I almost couldn't get it down, it was so greasy. Then I figured "well, I really want to try her crust" so I had another SMALL -- and I do mean small -- piece. Yuk! Way too greasy for me. I'll leave it for Vince, he can many times eat something with more grease in it than I can. I honestly don't even want to LOOK at it.
Heather - I remember that Bryan didn't want to go to his graduation. I just said to him "as much as we paid for your tuition, I want to see you walk across that stage if I have to drag you across myself". He did go. I am in constant awe of how much you do for your dh (and also all your cooking)
Donna - welcome to our "family"!!!!
katla - what I did last year for Christmas and it worked out so I'm doing it again is I'm sending everyone a link to my Amazon wish list
Vicki - how horrible! You sure were lucky to just get out with some burns and a sore neck. So glad that you are all fine. I'd say not to talk to this guy. when he calls, either look at the caller ID and don't answer it or make up an excxuse why you can't talk right now. He has something up his sleeve...not sure what but he does
jane - so cute picture. Thanks for sharing.
Went to yoga this morning, then to Aldi's. Then home and Vince and I started on the -- what he calls "infrastructure -- for the Christmas decorations. Got the controllers out, a few of the extension cords, made some more posts, put up the arches. Then went to church, home for dinner. Then made some oven BBQ pork chops for later in the week and some buttermilk biscuits for Vince.
Going to try to catch up now.

Hi to all! I’m sitting here with dye on my head so I have 20 minutes! Got my annual car service today and ordered a new set of tires. They will be in Tuesday and I’ll get them on Wednesday. It was a nice fall day here in the 60s. NE lost their football game. Ugh. Nothing else much going on. We went to a great pizza place with some friends Friday night and as I expected, my GF didn’t like anything. She never does. I’m not sure why I have so many negative people in my life!
Katla: your red frog sounds cute! Glad the motor started!
Heather I wish we had good train service here but we don’t. Some of the larger cities do, but not Omaha. They keep talking about it but it never comes about,
Marsha : welcome aboard!
Sylvia: I have a cat who throws up in our suitcases he gets so upset. And we have a housesitter who spoils them all rotten!
Kathy: congrats on getting through your class with such a good grade!
Joyce: glad the colonoscopy is done for another few years!
Michele: was the Green Room depressing because they are putting up Christmas decorations already? I hate that!
Sandy glad for your son and his job!
Alicia: congrats on being under goal!
Jb: so glad you are feeling better!
Tina; I really did enjoy the mani-pedi and went to work on Friday with a much better attitude!
Congrats on the nsv!
DeeDee: enjoy your shopping excursion!
Yanniejannie: I love the TV viewing pose!!!
Pat: I so wish I had time for crafts!
Pat: great news on the sweats!!!
Sylvia: so glad the cath is over; what treatment will you have for the blockage? Sending you healing thoughts!
Donna: welcome to the group!
Vicki: omgosh what a scare! I ‘m so glad you all were ok! I agree with the others who said not to talk to him and to document his
calls. Let the insurance handle it.
Well ladies I read all the posts but did not respond to all since I now have to get this crud out of my hair. At least I’ll not look like bride of Frankenstein anymore! Take care and best wishes to all my dear friends. Meg from nice-for-November omaha0 -
Good Evening!
I am thankful that I am getting my myself and my marriage back on track again. Also, I am thankful, that although I have been absent here for quite awhile that it feels like coming home, reconnecting with all you wonderful women! Today my DH and I met up with some dear friends that we have not seen for at least 4 or 5 years. They stopped by our house for a bit and then we went out to a great buffet dinner. and yes, I loaded up with salad and did not overeat. Ok, maybe I did have a few too many cookies. :frown:
Vicki-I am very glad that you and your granddaughter were not hurt worse! I was hit by a drunk driver, years ago when my kids were little and got the airbag in my face. I looked like I went a few too many rounds with Mike Tyson and boy do I remember my eyes burning from the stuff inside the airbag! So, I definitely sympathize!
Off to bed, night all!

a little to add to the car wreck stories. One time I was just quietly going down a busy street and all of a sudden a car pulls out of parking lot and slams into me. As we were sitting waiting for the cops to come she commented to me that if she knew that there were children in the car that she wouldn't have pulled out!:noway: So I am expendable. My girls were at the age that they used to organize things all the time. So they sat in her car and organized all her cassette tapes. They were so innocent to what really went on. A lady coming out of a bowling awards party, a few drinks in her and pulls out to soon. Oh to be innocent like a child.
If anyone would look at my house they would think we are Mr and Mrs Scrooge. Our tree is downstairs in our family room so it can't be seen from the outside of the house at all. I don't do any other decorations. It's just a lot of bother and the spirit is there whether we have decorations up or not. I love to see others decorations though and at times I envy them. Sometimes I think the outdoor decor can be too wild.

Joyce: I’ll be praying that there is no tornado in your area.:flowerforyou: Your timed mile is very impressive.
Renny: I have never enjoyed jazzercize. Remember that old forties or fifties song, “I got Rhythm?” Well, I DON’T. Not even a little. :noway: And I don’t know left from right without a moment or two of thought. The dances of the late 60’s and early 70’s were perfect for me because they required neither.  I love yoga. I hope you get your desk replaced without too much hassle.:flowerforyou:
Grandmallie: 17,000 steps is impressive. WTG! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Yanniejannie: You are such a dedicated fundraiser. Your causes are lucky to have you in their corner. :flowerforyou: You are so right about the pressure on teachers, and the ready willingness to blame all student shortcomings on them, rather than absent parents, irresponsible behavior, or lack of motivation.:flowerforyou:
Sandy from ON: The Pursuit of Happiness sounds interesting. Let us know if you feel that is a worthwhile read.:flowerforyou:
Sylvia: Hospitals could probably combine all their health checks into one or two visits but they’re all done by different people. It isn’t a restful place in my experience, but sometimes it is the best place to be, anyway. I’m glad you’re home. Congrats on the medicine coupons saving you so much money.:flowerforyou:
Barbie: I’m so sorry you’re still too sore to plank. (Can plank be a verb?) I hope you’ll be able to let yourself heal slowly as needed and not become discouraged or frustrated.:flowerforyou:
I was listening to an audio book on the couch and knitting while DH went to the pharmacy to get some medicine this evening and when he got home we realized our dog was not around. We called and called, and I was about ready to search the neighborhood when we heard a yip from inside the house. He was in our bedroom closet with the doors closed, and evidently thought he was locked in there. Poor doggie. He could have easily pushed the door open if he had tried. I wonder how many of my perceived problems would actually be that easy to solve if I just tried. I’ll bet it would be so many that I'd be totally amazed.

November goals:
1. Log every bite
2. Focus on fitness: cardio and strength every week
3. Drink 3 or more glasses of water daily0 -
Hello my lovely women!
I have lost 0.5 of a lb! Yeah!:drinker: :drinker:
It takes me two weeks now to see a shift in the scales, but as I am at a healthy weight now I am prepared to wait. I am way below my original goal and only one and a half lbs away from 4 stone lost, my current goal. A stone is 14 lbs.
Sometimes I do get a bit impatient, but I am eating well at 1800 calories, so I do not feel in any way deprived or "on a diet". Just occasionally I would love to throw caution to the winds, especially if I am eating out, but I rarely do, if ever. Barbie's quote, "If it is important to you you will find a way, if not you will make an excuse" comes to mind. I have found myself putting an extra chocolate in my mouth, or a piece of cheese, or the mini binge with the turkish delight (!), but it is rarely more than a small rebellion. Sometimes I just need to rebel!
DH had an even worse panic attack this morning. Bad. I know he wants me to cancel my friends' visit, but that would be the worst thing I could do. He says he can't cope with them here, but I know he will be fine.
He is still on his meds and has been completely fine for a month, so he is very frustrated and cross with himself.
Today I am making lemon shortbread biscuits to go with poached plums from our own tree. Also split pea and ham hock soup. I am making a huge pot, so we will have some for dinner with a green bean and feta salad and the rest will go in the freezer for Tuesday's starter. I might get to the local shop to buy stuff for a goat's cheese and ricotta dip. It has pomegranates and chives on top and is drizzled with honey and a touch of balsamic. I made hummus yesterday. I like a starter tht you can also use as a canape if preferred at the time. It's nice to sit around chatting with a drink and something to nibble, or if no one is hungry you can wait yo go to table. About a year ago I froze some left over baguette in slices so I will get those out and toast them !! What did we do before freezers!
I've still got to finish my exercises, so will go now. I did my machines on my own so DH could have a rest. He had been in a state since 3 a.m. Will do push ups, squats and weights. My rheumatism is playing up a bit and my thumb joints are really aching. It usually passes after a few days, but last night was really painful.
Love to all. It's supposed to be getting colder in Hampshire. UK

morning ladies~
im up and having my lemon water... had some greek yogurt too.. DH and puppies still in bed..
we got alot done yesterday, and today,I think I will get some more stuff packed for florida..
We do not decorate for the Christmas anymore either.. we are in florida then, and at our park they outdo themselves with lights and decorations..
im also going to reorganize my clothes and bureau and closet...
I have to talk to the DH about christmas spending.. I dont know when his christmas club is ready, but I need about 500.00 for the whole family ,I know what I need to get ,it is just when, and I have to send stuff to Wisconsin and Ohio0 -
Just popping back to say today how much I admire and appreciate those of you who live alone. I know there are one or two of you and, when I had to do it, it was the most difficult time of my life. I don't know how I would cope now. Not at all well, I suspect. So many congratulations and good thoughts to those who are managing it. :flowerforyou: :drinker:
Some of you have said you admire the way I deal with DH. In some ways it is the opposite. If I wake up a bit blah about my day it really helps me to have someone else to think about and care for. It's as if my brain kicks into gear and my mood rises as I look after him. I always feel better afterwards, partly because I'm glad it's not me going through it. I'm not so pleased about the long term effects on my life and freedom, but I can deal with that if I am firm and strong enough. DH is a lovely man and hates being like this, so the little I can do to help makes me feel better.

Good morning beautiful ladies:flowerforyou:
Barbie I can feel all those muscles when I do a plank, which I have to say I haven’t done one in awhile:embarassed: !
Jb Boysenberry tarts….yum !!!! I used to have a salad every night, I`ve gotten away from that, need to reestablish that habit!
Katla The Marina board…! There are lots of “boards” around here too, I`m on a few as well. It`s good to be involved in the community! What is a Wonder Horse:huh: ? I`m guessing it`s a horse, not a real one, that a child plays on, maybe like a rocking horse? My oldest granddaughter had a rocking pink pig that sang, it was so cute. When the batteries ran down it sounded awful, she told me it was sick:laugh: . How did your doggie get in the closet?
Vicki How absolutely awful! I agree with everyone else, don`t talk to him at all!!! Thank goodness you were able to walk away from that wreck with few problems; it could have been so much worse:flowerforyou: !!! Congrats on getting your house done and your dad being able to go home!
Joyce It`s nice to have most of your Christmas gifts already, I still have a few things I have to get, and then comes the wrapping part! Suitcases for the girls sounds like a great gift, I actually might get my grandgirls that too, thanks for the great idea:bigsmile: ! Hope the weather won`t be too bad today, stay safe! Congrats on your 10 miles!!!
Jane Martin What a beautiful little granddaughter !!!! Wow, it`s been a year already:noway: ?
Renny Pretending to be too busy:huh: , wish I could just pretend:laugh: !!!! I hate getting on the floor too, I just don`t get up from it as graceful as I used to ! Congrats for signing up the classes!
Grandmallie 17,000 steps….woo hoo!!!!
Yanniejannie Congrats on the 500.00 for the race…awesome!!! Oh yummy, your butternut squash sounds just delish !!!
Sandy I`m sure those sodium pounds will come off, they are very annoying though:grumble: !!! Congrats on getting to your Aqua fit class! Did you go to the parade? Santa is always the main attraction !
Sylvia Doggie prison:laugh: …..that`s so cute! I`m sure your fur babies were very happy to see you ! Thanks for the tip on the drug manufacture web site, saves you a lot of money!!! How great that Walgreens credited your account!! Take it easy and listen to your Drs.:flowerforyou: !!!
Barbie I do love decorating now for Christmas, for so many years I did nothing, it feels good to have the holiday spirit back:bigsmile: !!!
Michele Interesting ingredients for the pie crust, are you going to make it? Deep fried apple pie, does sound very greasy…ick:sick: ! I actually brought some of my Christmas decorations down from upstairs, everything is still in the boxes in the great room, the snow people and all their glitter made it to the dining room. I probably will start setting things up right after Thanksgiving.
Meg Bet your hair looks awesome!!! It`s time for my car to be serviced too, I need to make that appt. soon:grumble: !
Kathy So glad your taking care of yourself and your marriage:flowerforyou: !!!
Heather Congrats on the .5 pound!!! Slow and steady and it stays off!!!! Sometimes I need to rebel too , just because:laugh: !!! Hope DH will get to feeling better soon:flowerforyou: !
Grandmallie When do you leave for FL?
Today I am meeting the “boys” for coffee, and I plan on doing a lot of bossing:devil: , just in that mood . I`m so glad they put up with me!!!! Maybe I should dust off the tiara and wear it today:bigsmile: , I`ve not worn it in awhile!
This will probably be the last long post for awhile, Monday it`s back to the regular routine:sad: !
Have a wonderful day ladies! Drink your water:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: and log your food!!!
Hugs,
DeeDee in very foggy NC:frown:0 -
Meg- they switched me from Plavix to Effient. And I'm on three BP meds plus Lasix. And aspirin and Lipitor. That, plus an additional stint in cardiac rehab. They think my current diet plan is ok, and want me to continue it and continue to lose weight. After about a month I should be able to get back to my regular exercise routine. I'm scared to death that this new pill is not going to work either. I wish there was something more I could do. Apparently my family history doesn't help.

:flowerforyou: Jake came back from his out of town adventure exhausted so we went to bed before 7 PM…..since I had been napping during the day with the ice pack, I wasn’t as tired so I woke up in the middle of the night rested and turned on the light and read for two hours before going back to sleep until it was time to wake him at 6 AM so he could get ready for another out of town adventure today. This one won’t be as long but I have a list of things I want to do while I have the house to myself.
 I am grateful for my DVR that allows me to record programs on TV and watch them in sections when I have the time. I am grateful for the technology and for being able to afford to have the service.

We can be grateful for the fullness of our lives, whatever barriers we face! Even on this gray, rainy, dull Sunday. The snow has melted and the temp spiked to 14 C, good thing, our leaves fell because of the snow! Messy cleanups.
I am grateful for the warm memories of seeing DS yesterday. We took up hampers of food, kleenex, and most of all our loving presence. He ranted and raved about his grad school experiences. Since I just finished mine, I completely understood and agreed! You just have to get through it, you don't get to enjoy it. Also visited my oldest friend of 44 years, now in a locked unit, unable to stop pacing, no sign of recognition, and lost in her frontal lobe dementia. Then visited her husband, another lifetime friend. What can be said, what a waste of a brilliant life. What an impact on her children and husband. Deep breaths, deep sadness. Expected, but if this is a direct line to death, it should not be so drawn out. It is a death sentence, but such a long long one.
We took our Parkinson's riddled cousin to visit our new grandbaby the day before. The baby is a lovely girl, still in that very new baby mode at 20 days old.....just trying to focus the eyes, and bring sounds and faces into focus. Our cousin was so delighted to just sit there and hold a newborn, it has been so long for her...and it was so life affirming.
My grandson arrived back from Universal, full of excitment and emailed me...( which I find funny, since we live less than a mile away, but it is easier to email than visit for them!)
So today I am grateful I walk, talk, think, laugh, cry, and love. What more can there be?
Onto teaching the mysteries of academic argument for tomorrow. Long day, but I am grateful to give.
Will catch up with all later this evening.

morning again my lovlies~
Heather you just amaze me with all the lovely yummy things you cook, and your poor DH ,I feel bad for both him and you..
got to the gym and sweated a good sweat... came home and ran to Walmart and picked up some of my cut up fruit and veggies that I like.. then the DH and I were going to go to Sam's ,but he opened his mouth and inserted his foot.
So Sam's will have to wait..
Men sure do know how to make you feel worthless sometimes.. he was kvetching about my son and dad coming for a free meal on thanksgiving..my dad is on a very limited income , my son not really and he just doesn't understand that you really should help out to pay for things sometimes, doesn't offer.. So I get flack for that also..
so I just shut my mouth and looked out the window and told him we could come home..
I asked why he had to throw my family under the bus?his is worse than mine for cryin out loud.. every week we drive an hr back and forth to visit his dad and bring him a meal.
he knew he hurt my feelings and has apologized, but it still hurts..
I think I am just going to chill out this afternoon, I have most of what needs to be packed for Florida, and we will be driving down in the 14th of December for 2 weeks. we take the dogs at Christmas time so we drive it in 2 days..
will look for something to make for DH for dinner then lay low the rest of the day.. both my arms are quite sore from the darn shots, but oh well that will go away eventually:indifferent:0 -
Happy sun!!
Off to church.
So grateful for this group.

Heather: I continue to send good thoughts for a peaceful frame of mind for your DH. Anxiety is no fun at all. I have had enough in my life to know. I take generic Welbutrin and recently added a second dose. It helps me keep my anxieties in check and is also an antidepressant. I want lemon shortbread biscuits, if I can avoid butter. They sound yummy! My DH also has health issues. Although they are quite different medically, I understand how you feel about the satisfaction that comes from being able to help.
Grandmallie: How long will you stay in Florida this time? I hope you enjoy it. Everyone is ahead of me on Christmas shopping. It looks like we’re going to be home alone this year. DD & family were coming but now says they can’t. Or won’t. It is the same result for us. I’m experiencing a bit of self-pity over it.
BJ: We had a neighbor with frontal lobe dementia. Her husband took her to his ranch for the end stage of the disease. It is a heartbreaking condition. I am sorry for your friend who has lost herself, and especially sorry for her husband.
DeeDee: A Wonder Horse is a child’s toy. There is a plastic molded horse that is suspended by springs in a metal frame. The child rides the horse by shifting their weight forward and back, and can be quite vigorous. My cousins had one when I was growing up and I was jealous, so I made sure my own kids had one. If you google it you’ll find pictures. I’m glad to hear you have your holiday spirit back. The decorations help liven up a particularly dark and dreary time of year for those of us who live north of the equator. The farther north you go, the more dark and dreary it becomes. Enjoy your time bossing “the boys.”
My beloved Ducks football team won their game last night and Stanford lost, so the competition for bowl games has shifted in our favor for the moment. The season is not over yet. It is still early morning here and we’re about to have breakfast. DH is wondering what we should do with our day. I’m wondering, too, and will be brainstorming possibilities.

Happy Sunday! Patches of blue sky overhead, could we please have a little sunshine? :glasses:
I made the boysenberry tarts yesterday and of course had to sample a few. They're OK, need to tweak the recipe a bit.
Can it be that I really did Yoga last night? :noway: Ohhhh it felt good. I think I'm on to something here.
Taking a drive out to the country later to check on a friend's house, she's away on vacation. Other than that I need to continue with little cleaning projects (ignoring the big ones)
Wishing everyone a wonderful day, reminding myself to "Eat to Live, not Live to Eat".

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: I know I can't be the only one who loves the journey of the seasons and enjoys the wet, cold, dark days of fall and winter.
:flowerforyou: I just came back from a dog walk----one dog at a time. It's not raining here now but it's cold and the sky is threatening. I'll watch some more figure skating, then ice my back, and then go out with the dogs again.

Hi all.
No time to read the last two days that I have missed. I will do it later. I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.
We went to the Marine Corps Ball with my son and dil on Friday night. It was lovely and impressive. We really enjoyed it.
Then we left at 5:30 am the next morning...got home at 5 to 8. But I had to leave at 8 with a friend to go to Universal City Studios for a fund-raiser. Another almost 3 hours in the car. The fund-raiser was nice and then we had park tickets so we did some of the things you can do there. I especially liked the park tour where they show you buildings and outside movie sets and so on. There was a 3-d experience with King Kong...Wow. We didn't plan to stay as long as we did, but it was fun. And even after a total of 8 hours in the car I had 12,000 steps on my fitbit and a lot of stairs.
So now I have a sore throat. I'll make it to church, but I'm skipping Bible class. Then I'm going to come home and rest so I can make it through the school week.
Our front yard is done being re-landscaped and looks wonderful. We had a great designer/landscaper.
Gotta get ready for church. I'll catch up later.

Katla - sorry that you might be spending Christmas by yourselves.. Last year we went to DSIL after Christmas so used Christmas day to do and have exactly what we liked. We had Dover Sole, among other yummy things. We didn't bother with a tree though. I am still trying to fix something up with DS#1.:grumble: I haven't made the biscuits yet. Will do them tomorrow. Guests arriving late afternoon.
Grandmalie - sorry your trip out was spoiled. It's often hard to guess at what is really troubling men. They never tell us outright! There's usually something bubbling away underneath!:ohwell:
Barbie - sounds like you are getting some nice 'alone' time. It's lovely when it doesn't go on for too long! I love to watch my foreign films when I am left alone. I have one now I am dying to watch, set in Hong Kong.
What is the photo you posted? ?

Happy Sunday!
Very rainy and dreary here with a lot of thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings popping up. I am grateful that the weather is not worse! I always get nervous with storms since we flooded two years in a row, in 2006 and 2007, so just staying close to home today. If the weather clears up later, I hope to get to the grocery store. Have a good day all! :flowerforyou:
