    Well, I probably won't make my 150 mile goal but I am riding a minimum of 30 minutes a day. I have 102 miles as of today.

    I'm baaaaack. I haven't posted since the first week of the month. Works been crazy busy, including a trip to Orlando this week, plus the weather's starting to get uncooperative. In fact, tomorrow looks very nasty indeed, so I got out tonight and got some miles in.

    11/2 - 11*
    11/2 - 23
    11/3 - 30*
    11/6 - 32*
    11/16 - 24
    11/17 - 18*
    11/23 - 28*

    Total: 166 miles

    * fixed gear rides

    From 11/16- I rode my 1966 Raleigh DL-1 Rod Brake 3-speed to the celebration to open a new bridge linking downtown Fort Worth with the west side. (No, this pic wasn't taken on the new bridge}

    From 11/17- actually, there is no ride picture from the 17th, because the cracked display on my camera finally went kaput.

    Luckily I bought the extended warranty/protection plan. They ended up condemning the camera and I got my replacement today.

    From tonight's ride- the downtown Christmas tree is lit, and our newly opened public plaza looks grand.

    Wow I love that 1966 Raleigh DL-1 Rod Brake 3-speed, it looks to be in mint condition. That would be worth quite a bit of money in the UK as it would be considered a collectors item. really beautiful and great to see

    It's probably worth $200-400 here in the U.S. With the rebuild on the wheels last year, and the new Brooks B72 saddle, I'd never make my money back on it. It is kind of cool to ride around on once in a while though.

    Anyway, the rain and sleet held off and I got a Sunday Night Pub Crawl in. Due to the threat of bad weather, it was an abbreviated ride. I ended up with 24 miles on the night. It's a good thing they cut it short because the rain started shortly after I got home.

  • Since I was scheduled to be out of town for a week, I set my mile total at 150 miles for November. Right now I'm at 184 miles, but I might be able to get in another ride before the end of the month. The cold weather is rough on us southern boys, so I'll have to buck up a little. This makes 3 months I've been able to hit my target. Pretty excited about that.

    Ran errands on the bike yesterday. Today, my wife went for a ride with me, her first time on the bike in several weeks. She did great, riding for 11 miles. That was a little ambitious, I thought, with how long it's been since she rode plus the chilly temps (50s, but she chills easily).

    Two rides today. Add them together and I rode my age (51). The first was a ride with my wife, 18 miles round trip to get some lunch (beware: food porn):

    Check out this fitness calculator. It tells you your "fitness age" based on 5 things. I'm 53 right now. I calculated twice - once based on my current information, and the other based on 6 months ago (before I started on MFP and riding my bike 3-4 times/wk). So. Wow. My pre-MFP fitness age was 65!!! My current fitness age is 50!!! Wow. Gotta keep peddling, despite the chronic tendonitis in my hips and the pain in my knee and the fatigue. Waist size is of utmost relevance. Studies have shown that the spare tire thing is linked to heart disease. I still have mine, but it's 3 inches smaller than 6 months ago. Woot! Here's the link. http://www.ntnu.edu/cerg/vo2max

    just discovered this thread. Took the test...I'm 62...fitness age is 51!
    I am an avid cyclist...so this thread will be great for me. I live in No. VA...so when it warms up, and if there is anybody who wants to ride...maybe we can get a riding group going

    I wasn't going to ride Saturday, but I ate too much and needed the calorie burn. I did a nice circuit that went out to the southwest edge of town, then along the river for a few miles, then back home - 24 miles on the fixed gear. Here's a pic along the river
