Ugh not such a good week. I can certainly tell the difference when I look in the mirror. But the scale doesn't want to budge. I am strength training so I hope I'm gaining muscle. I'm going to Michael's after work to buy a thing to measure myself with.0 -
Keep up the good work everyone!! Bump.0

anyone have good tips for good foods to eat post-exercise that will fill me up and not leave me ravenous?!)
I use p90x recovery drink from Team Beach Body. I get it online and I think that is the only source? Anyway,I have the same problem especially when I lift weights. I feel like I could eat an elephant in one setting. The recovery drink tames my appetitite if I drink it right away after I work out.. I still need to eat often and increase my calories slightly on weight lifting days but at least I don't turn into a warewolf with help from the recovery drink. And it tastes great:drinker: It tastes like one of those orange/vanilla icecream bars - creamcicles I think they're called. Good luck and stay inside when there is a full moon - you should do just fine:laugh:

Did not expect to lose that much weight in one week! I won't get too excited because I'm sure it will slow down from now on. It's amazing how much more energy I have. And after a week, I can say my cravings for really bad food are pretty much nonexistent! Keeping busy also helps but I've been able to avoid temptations...thanks to being accountable for what I eat for my MFP friends! Thanks everyone! Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress!0 -

Missed my 2 week mini goal by only 0.2 pounds. I should have done one more pushup in my lasy workout. I did make it to the local farmers market this week and bought salmon and sushi. I love fresh food now and I'm really getting away from junk food a little at a time. Still have a bad coffee addiction:drinker:
This week is going to be a challenge as I'm going to Canada for a little vacation. One whole week on the road with temptations of good food and skipping exercise. However, I am not giving myself permission to have a bad week. Also, I don't imagine any of you are sympathetic to someone going on vacation????:ohwell: See you all next week Ay.

Dawn - thanks. Most people wouldn't have ever even known - I was only 3 weeks and hadn't even missed yet. I'm just very attuned, I guess. At this point, I just want to get on with my weight loss/health goals and get myself super healthy so that if we decided to actually TRY for one, particularly at my age (over 35), I'll have a healthier 9 months & easier recovery (C-sect) after wards.
My pills basically did what they were supposed to - made me an unviable host so to speak. Unfortunately, I just happened to know what was going on in there prior to that so the loss was probably more eventful than it should have been (emotionally). But I'm over it now.
Funny thing - been saying for more than 7 years "no more, no way, no how". Oh the irony.0 -

Hi everyone (hi Dawn and Stormy!) :flowerforyou: I'm a little late, but I'd like to join the challenge!
I'm Mande -- newly a stay-at-home wife (not newly a wife, just new to the at-home part) and wanna-be novelist. My husband just finished law school this past spring and took the bar exam in July. He recently returned to work, and so life has finally returned to normal. I don't have any children yet, but I'm hoping to start trying within the next year as I get healthier and drop some more of the excess weight.
I got off track this summer and gained back 5 of the nearly 40 lbs I'd lost earlier this year. Now that fall is nearly here, and I am finally back on a regular schedule, I am ready to get back in the saddle! I've recently switched to a vegan diet, focusing mainly on veggies, minimally processed grains, fruits, nuts and beans, and I need to commit to 30-60 minutes of exercise daily.
For this challenge, I'm looking to lose 1 lb per week (obviously, more than that is great -- but I don't want to set my sights too high).
See you all on Wednesday!
