I think I must have been holding onto some water last week... (had weighed in at 142 the Sunday before), so the 4 lbs is probably more like 2lbs, but happy with the results either way... :)

Keep up the good work everyone!

I'm with chaceme123. How can we make this a group? I KNOW I need the motivation!

i really don't know if that is possible, but my suggestion is to friend everyone on this thread and comment on each other's walls for motivation! or just keep checking in and chat. :)

Hey everyone! I am hoping to join your group--a little late I know.... Here's my story..I really got into fitness and nutrition last year and lost alot of weight (like 50#!) But I was starting to get a little obsessed...so in conjunction with a bad attitude, a jerk guy, and a horrible car accident I started to slip..and I fell hard. I have gained about 30#'s back, and am having the hardest time with motivation and getting my eating back on track. I really have been binging to be honest which has been going on for months..obviously to get where I am now..ugh. So I need some serious motivation and people to check with me and make sure I am doing this again! I KNOW I can do it, I just struggle so much:(. I hope you can help me realize I am OKAY and if I can just change my eating habits I can get this weight back off! Thanks everyone

I would love to join! I have two daughters 27 and 29 and my husband and I are from Canada.
I am 61 years old, one of the older folk here. I am currently at 183.4 lbs. as of today. I have a long journey
to go and my goal is one pound per week. I exercise everyday doing something. I like to diversify
my exercising so I don't get bored. My youngest daughter is getting married on the US Thanksgiving
in Jamaica in November 2010. I would love to take off some poundage so I can look slimmer in
the wedding pictures. I probably won't put down any goals, I feel too much pressure if I do.
But I will check in every so often and show my results. Count me in!!!!

i am so sorry for your loss. i can sort of relate to what you are going through. my dad passed away three months ago and my grandma (dad's mom) passed away two weeks ago. my problem is that i have no hunger. i am apathetic towards food which causes me to starve and binge or munch on crap just to hit my calorie goal. i am glad you joined our group sonlight! (are you a homeschooler using sonlight's curriculum?)

I would like to join too. I currently weigh 191 but by November I would like to be down 20+ pounds. I'm a stay at home mommy of a little girl. She starts kindergarden this month. It is time for a change, I don't want her to think that being big is good. I have struggled but not really cared about my weight since she was born. My changing point was when she came up to me and said "mommy I want to be fat like you" that just broke my heart. I started my journey August 12, 2010. My end goal is 130.

May I join you? I'm in! Just joined last week and looking for a goal group. I'm running a 1/2 marathon on Oct. 3 so this is a perfect way for me to keep on track to drop pounds by the race.
I'm 35, St. Louis, MO, massage therapist and classical musician. Just bought a house in December and got a little too comfortable in the nesting phase. Can I help it I have an awesome new kitchen!?!

I got sick this last week, and that combined with school starting means that I didn't start working on anything. But I went to the gym today and will be sure to weigh in next week!

it is not unusual to gain and drop weight (up to 10 pounds sometimes) daily, but if my scale went from 180 to 173 overnight, i think i'd change the battery or buy a new scale. :) lol.

congrats on the scale movement, but don't get discouraged if it is not that low next week. slow and steady wins the race!

Protein shakes are great for this. I recommend Nature's Best Isopure. You can find it at most GNC's and online everywhere. It may be a little pricey but it's so worth it and it lasts for a while. If you bring a bottle with the powder to the gym, you can add water when you've finished your workout. Then you can drink it on the way home and not be so hungry and tempted to raid the refrigerator when you get home. They are also great for muscle recovery. If you lift weights at all...even the smallest amount, I find that protein shakes reduce soreness the following day. I drank them all throughout my college athletic career and still do!
