Speedos are appropriate for pools, I think. But folks in the US have a weird thing about them, so my opinion won't help you much, lol.

I don't understand the question. Are you going to the pool to swim laps, or to be looked at by women?
    Best answer :)
    (Or I guess question lol).

As I said, if he wants to rock them, nobody can stop him. :P

Seriously...I personally just don't care :drinker: When I used to swim on the regular, all I cared about was getting a free lane & not losing my top  however, something like this might stop me in my tracks...

It doesn't matter how many abs the guy has or how sexy he is. If he's in a speedo, I just can't help but cringe.

I really do my best not to look at dudes in the pool and wish the same was true in reverse but I'm not sure.

I think most of the women who are in the pool regularly except you to be wearing a speedo or jammers. I wouldn't worry about it man. Most of the women in my triathlon group seem to prefer men in a speedo...

    Wear what makes you comfortable.

I don't care what anyone wears, ever.

The pool is totally separate at my gym so chances are I wouldn't see you.
Just do your own thing. Wanna wear it? Do it. You should be in the water most of the time anyway.

This. I am there for my own reasons, you're not it (that sounds harsher than I mean it).

Usually I'm pretty anti-speedos, but swimming laps is an exception. It's a functionality thing, you need to go for the hydrodynamic option. Just keep a towel on hand and cover up asap when you get out - don't go walking around the gym in those things!

So I've read some women don't like men to wear speedos.

I've started wearing a speedo to swim laps at the gym. I don't have a six pack but I at least have 4, and some hints of V lines...

What do you think of men, at least in pretty good shape(not fat ones..) wearing speedos at the gym pool?

Reactively, men with your description in their swimming briefs or swim shorts briefs are all too positively distracting to be honest. Then again, it's pretty much the norm for me, to see men attired in briefs for one of the leading sports from my region of origin has men running about in what would appear to be boxer shorts and sometimes boxer briefs to the good majority.

Lapping the pool is far from a leisure activity to be attired in the alternative trunks. Briefs make sense to me. Hate the idea of men having to be forced to feel shame or to be overtly self-conscious about their forms when they're being active around water. For those of us who're used to men in briefs it's a non-issue; For some whose men are more conservatively attired, the sight of any or some men in briefs and in public would be repulsive.

Dude if you can rock-em & you are comfortable, then rock-em. I was a lifeguard back in the day, the Mark Spitz days that is. All my coworkers wore them. I even had a pair of the stars n strips ones! We never had any complaints from the ladies. Americans are so up tight about sexuality you'd think they didn't surf porn or something. It's ridiculous.
