    This was the 40th Thanksgiving I ate turkey that was defrosted out on the counter and cooked with stuffing in it -- everyone lived.

    I also made it through two more Thanksgiving dinners and a 1lb steak dinner on Saturday where the meat was left out overnight to thaw. Still alive and kicking. :)

    Late to the thread, but figure out what temperature your house/countertop is at, then the temperature of your freezer, the mass of the turkey, the thermal conduction rate of the turkey package and countertop times the area of the package resting on the countertop and then the thermal conduction rate of the package to air and the area of the package exposed to the air... then figure that by the amount of time it was left out at those temperatures, and you'll probably find out that it's still frozen in the middle.


    You're gonna cook it anyway, that'll get rid of the bacteria. Don't be a candy-*kitten* pansy. :D
