You are supposed to lock them out in a competition. That being said, from the pic they look to be pretty harsh judges.0 -
Congratulations!! That was probably the best account I've read on MFP, loved your pics, keep up the great work!!0

Probably worth while getting a technique session at PTC sometime to fine tune and then just keep doing your thing
Soft knees typically means that the shoulders are locked out, hips are locked out, quite often the lower back is hyperextended a bit so it appears as though the lift is finished but the knees aren't fully locked out. Not a common thing for conventional deadlifts actually. If anything it's usually the opposite that happens on maxes where people lock their knees out way early and end up stiff leg deadlifting it0 -

I think the photo shows that my back is definitely hyperextended, as I was trying to make sure my knees were locked out.
My feeling is that I probably over thought it. It was great getting the feedback on the platform, but it may have made me 'over think' my next lift. You can see that my hand is quite open as well, the bar had rolled down onto my fingers and I was struggling to keep my fingers hooked.0 -
I just want you to know how inspiring you are. Really, really inspiring. Congratulations :flowerforyou:0

Oh Deeva, so MUCH YAY!!!!

Thanks Vivi, you have been a fantastic cheerleader.
I would be lying if I didn't say I felt out of my depth on the day. A couple of the people there were really very helpful.0 -
